Alex had taken another job. This time, becoming a potion prepped. He had to be in the East Forest. He had to find three herbs for a potion. Each had a different difficulty to find. He stared at the list and the herbs guide on what each of them looked like. They were drawn in a manner that was much like a diagram in a scientific book. He had random bits of knowledge that he had collected through the years of reading his books. This should be a piece of cake. The first herb was a curly fern. Those were very common. He searched the forest floor and found a group of them growing.

He grabbed a clump of them. They were fresh. The ice mage placed them in a bag the client had given him. He studied the list again. "Blue Lichen…. found on rotting logs. Can do" he whispered. He went off the beaten path since the chances of finding it are much higher. Alex scanned the forest floor for any rotting logs that may have caught his eye. He found a few logs, but none of them had the blue lichen. There was a large old tree that had fallen down perhaps several years ago. Moss and lichen grew all over it. He found a small crevice where he found what he was looking for. He took out his pocket knife and started to scrape the lichen off the log then into the bag. LeeAnn had given him a warning about overworking himself, but Alex wasn’t the type to really find this kind of work actually work. It was more of a silent relaxation time. Time by himself was the best kind of time for him. He had time to think and dote on reading any new literature. There was one book he wanted but couldn't find if it meant his life. Everywhere he went, they were either sold out or it was too overpriced. It was just a book to him, but something that has been on his list for years at this point Reading was a way to cope for him. If there was anything he hated most, it was not being able to read at least once a day. It had swallowed his life, even more, when he retired from Rune Knights.

Staring at the last ingredient, it was a rare plant, one not many people had heard of before. He had to go further into the East Forest to find it on a very large tree. Khalash, a red vine plant. It took him even longer to find it, but he managed to complete the task. He returned to the client who took the ingredients to make a concoction of his own. He wanted Alex to try it, which made the demi-human nervous. When he handed Alex the potion, he stared at the mysterious liquid. He was taught as a kid not to drink mysterious liquids, but here he was breaking it. When he drank it, he felt energy sure geh through him. The client was happy and even gave him a reward for his good dead
