Kaito

Kaito dragging his feet a little bit today after having a heart to heart with someone he wonders what he is gonna do, if he needs to change his mindset or if he is fine as he is. he walks up to the building that has been giving him these requests to handle the underground and some scum, he wonders what their top secret mission is today but he as a bad gut feeling about today. Revy is right behind him looking excited for what they might be doing today. ”Today you will be protecting a merchant while he does an underground deal.” He figures bodyguarding work should be easy enough so he doesn't feel any red flags, it was just an easy merchant making deals while kai watches "that should be easy enough right?" he thought to himself, but he has a gut feeling that it isn't gonna be so simple to handle.

Kaito

They give Kai a more mercenary look and a large sword that he is to use instead of his Katana. His feeling of something is wrong is growing but he has done missions for these guys before no way they would just send him head long into a trap right. He gets changed and puts the large sword on his back, while Revy puts his stuff in her bag in case he needs it, she looks at the red and black fox mask that Kai keeps in his cloak and wonders why he carries this thing cause she has never seen him use it, or wear it for anything, but she packs it still the same cause it must have some use to kai if he keeps it on him at almost all times, though she feels like something might not be right with it, but she is also starting to get a bad feeling about this request, but she doesn't breath a word of it to Kai.

Kaito

Kai leads Revy out and they walk to the place they are to meet the merchant, when the merchant shows up he is sweaty and nervous, Kai figures these must be some of his better clients that if he fails to impress they might drop him cutting his income dramatically, Kai over looks this might be a bad sign for himself and Revy. He trusts that he isn't going to get double crossed, by this merchant he has to protect, he walks through the Crimson Quarter with this merchant who stays sweaty and nervous the whole time, Revy looks the merchant over and she takes some notes that this man looks a little roughed up and that he has dirty hands like he was crawling around on the ground or digging in the dirt, she wonders if he had to beg the people to hire someone to act as his guard for this.

They arrive at the warehouse where the merchant is to meet his contact, the merchant points to the door saying they have to go inside, but he waits Kai and Revy to go in first so he isn't jumped to look for an ambush as he stays by the door so he is out of their way. Kai gets a weird feeling about this and he walks in with Revy in tow, the door slams shut and locks behind them, Revy jumps and yips in fear at the door just slamming and locking like it had just done. Kai sighs then he walks deeper in and the warehouse is empty, he looks around then he hears another door open and a mass of people enter with weapons and look like they are out for some serious blood. The speakers turn on and a voice comes through ”Welcome to your death, you and the ones sending you have been a real thorn in myside and it is time I deal with you.”

Kai looks up and sees a window where a big man is standing looking down on him from the window holding a intercom mic smirking at him. This gang walks up and Kai pulls his weapon holding it one handed but the weapon doesn't feel right, he decides to throw it away and it shatters like glass disappearing like dust. He sighs to himself mumbling "I shoulda figured" He puts Revy up on a shelf for her safety. He puts his hand out and she opens her bag and his katana appears in his hand. They come in on him and he defends himself the best he can. ”Not like being one vs a hundred?” The mans voice is taunting and cocky him thinking he has Kai dead to rights, and he isn't wrong Kai is getting beat up, pretty badly not being able to deal with the numbers and him trying not to kill them.

They kick and push Kai against the wall and stab him in the side, Revy knows Kai is in trouble she drops down drop kicking one of them, they grab her and start beating on her till she stops fighting knocked out. Kai's cloak appears on him but it is inside out so his cloak is red instead of black and in his hand is the red and black fox mask. ”Sorry... master... sorry.... Judith.... ” He puts the mask on his face and he screams, the men get away from Revy because they sense a blood lust coming from Kai, who hops while running his hand down his right arm donning him in what looks like a cloak of frosted wind. His feet have barely touched the ground before he is in there faces, weaving his attacks with his spells, snapping his fingers into side flip spinning kicks and he isn't sparing anyone that crosses his path.

He gets to where Revy is still alive but is hurt pretty badly, he lifts her and they see this as and opening for them to attack, Kai lifts his knee and brings down his elbow and the mans arm snaps like a supple twig with a healthy crack. The man screams in pain and Kai kicks him in the chest and the mans body ragdolls in the way he kicked them, he puts Revy back up on the shelf gently then looks at the last group of the men they are trying to get out but the door is still firmly shut and locked, them begging their boss to let them out that they don't want to do this anymore. Their boss is looking down grinning thinking he might of found who he was looking for. Tears are leaking out of one side of the red and black mask as he looks out at the mess of bodies on the ground with the other begging to not to be killed.

”Grow a spine and kill him already, he is already bleeding.” Kai is covered in the blood of the people he has killed so far and his own blood from the stabbing and beating he had taken. ”Life is important those that take it are scum, you wanted my life so come kill me. If you had stopped at hurting me it would have been fine cause I am trash... but not my friends...” His voice sounds detached, empty and cold. Revy wakes up and sees Kai is covered in blood and the bodies that are on the ground. She wonders what happened but she sees he is wearing the mask and she can feel a bloodlust herself when she looks at him standing there, then sees the other men fighting to get out, but as their boss commanded they turn picking their weapons back up and going at Kai who again without hesitation is fighting them, their blood shimmers against his frost covering and dances in his wind cloak making it look like the magic around him is in the shade of crimson instead of white and cyan as if he is dancing in their blood as he attacks and weaves in his spells.

The boss starts clapping as the last man falls to the ground in the pool of blood, he talks through the intercom again. ”Good work, good work indeed” His voice is proud and still cocky like he had just won. Kai looks at him then takes a running start, jumps up on a knocked over shelf that was leaning against the wall and runs up it then onto the wall flipping back wards and making an x in the air with his hand and throws his katana, the spell breaks the window launching glass into the man and hitting him in the chest then the Katana flies in landing right in his heart, the man gasps and struggles to pull the katana out but it is to late he is already knowing on deaths door with both hands. Kai pulls himself up into the room making sure he doesn't get cut on the glass. He pulls the sword out without a second thought, watching the last lights fade from the mans eyes. He swings his katana making a blood splatter across the room then wipes the blade putting it away and grabs the key off of the man, he jumps back out of the window landing on the pile of bodies.

He walks over and he unlocks a back door then goes into it there is a big sink in there he removes his mask and starts vomiting, he starts cleaning himself up getting the blood off and then he starts cleaning the blood off of his clothes and mask. Revy is shaking with fear at seeing him kill those people and fight like that it was not like him to fight like his body is a weapon, he usually doesn't go for the kill. She wonders if that mask is something magic, or maybe Kai isn't really who she thinks he is but she knows she needs to be careful. Kai comes out and walks up to her, she is faking to still be knocked out, he starts tending to her bumps and bruises with gentle touch and measured timing. He gets her sack down off the shelf and he carries her in his arm close and safe. Then heads back to report what happened, that it was a set up, He knows she is awake though cause when he jumped down he had seen her looking at him, he figures she is scared of him and he can't blame her for it. He gets back to the point and explains what had happened, leaving out the parts that he slaughtered them and their boss that they should be more careful with the requests they take. Kai takes his pay leaving, his stab wound is still bleeding under his cloak.
