Still, the fact that Khnurn worked for the Rune Knights essentially serving the Fiorian King, was the biggest reason why the Nightmare mage couldn't share too much of his life with The Sun Keeper. How much could he reveal to Khnurn without knowing if the Knights were enough to come between them. A meeting with the Prince of Desierto was long overdue. Not only did he miss the big black hunk of muscle, but he also wanted to talk to him about some things, see where his head is at all that. Plus, Amir also had things that needed to be discussed. As the Black Panther finished rolling his spliff he spoke to Amir. "You okay?" He asked as warm as he could, lighting the rolled herbs before putting it to his mouth.

But then came Khalfani. And things changed again.
Stepping out onto the streets of Baska, Seika didn't bother shielding his eyes from the late morning Sun. Why would he deny the blessings of his Lord? It was not as if Sol would blind him, no on the contrary, Seika was able to see perfectly even with the glare of the Sun directly in his face. He was here to meet with Khalfani and one other for their annual check in, something the brothers did to make sure the other hadn't died. Or at least that was the reason Khalfani had given to convince Seika that it was necessary. If he was honest, the young man wouldn't have needed to lie, but Seika understood how he was, he made everything unnecessarily difficult due to his rather straightforward nature. Of course in his mind everything was easier since he cut straight through the bullshit, but it also meant that he missed the forest for the trees at time in his pursuit for knowledge and understanding. And so in a roundabout way, maybe it was necessary for Khalfani to trick him, if only so that Seika wouldn't overly question or look for a double meaning in something as innocuous as seeing his brother.
The streets were relatively clear this morning, meaning the trek to where he was to meet the two was actually fairly short, only taking at most ten minutes from his hotel room. He had stuck to his loosely tied haori and pants, only wearing a rather tight black shirt underneath to avoid a public indecency charge. It was a simple get up and one that he preferred to his priest robes if he were honest. Maybe he could look into getting some clothes like these that better fit his station in the future?
Thoughts of fashion aside, he arrived with little fanfare, pulling out a chair to sit across from Khalfani quietly. He would greet the two in his usual gruff yet respectful demeanor before hunching forward to stare into his brothers face. It was interesting what a few months away from each other could bring.

“I am good habibi. Try not to smoke too much. It can still be bad for you.” Amir responded back kindly. He moved his chair closer to try to siphon some of Khal’s warmth, as well as pulling his hood up more. Amir was not a fan of the winter air. Even with the sun blazing down the cold found a way to worm into his body. It made him more uncomfortable than actually causing pain.
Amir was going to start back speaking. He wanted to ask more details about the brother they would be meeting. In his mind he imagined someone like Khal themself. Kind, charming, polite, with a devilish streak. The moment Amir opened his mouth a new thought entered with the appearance of another. The first thing that crossed his mind was large. Out of the three people sitting, the newcomer was the largest one.
“You must be the brother.”
The words that came out like the statement they were. He had no doubt that anyone had the gall to intrude on a close pair without personal business. If the intrusion was not enough it was the vibe. The air had an odd shift to it. Amir could not tell the relationship between the two. He just had a vain hope that it was good.
“I am glad that you could make it. I am Amir. It is a pleasure to meet you.” Amir held out his hand to shake. He looked at the man and tried to figure out where he had seen him before. Amir did not mean just the facial features that copied his panther, his lover clearly being the better looking one. It was a strange sensation that the brother had a familiar face. He tilted his head as if getting lost in thought. The guild mark on his neck became pronounced for people to see.
Thu Mar 03, 2022 1:42 pm
"Yeah, this is the brother." He answered Amir before Khnurn could speak. As he exhaled the smoke, he twisted his mouth so it wouldn't brush his brothers face or blow back on his lover. Amir had introduced himself, yet still, Khalfani's eyes wouldn't leave the Captain's face. Amir would probably quickly learn the dynamic of the relationship between the prince-brothers. Seika was the only one who could keep the Black panther in check, the more disciplined, principled one of the duo. The one who could reach his potential quicker, the more powerful one, most suited to be Pharaoh...in theory. And Khalfani? He was the rebellious, unpredictable one. The rule breaker, the cold-hearted criminal who would break your face just for looking at him wrong. For Amir though, Khalfani had been a different person. Perhaps in a few moments he would see a different side.
The silence between the two wouldn't break until the Sun Keeper responded to the Sand Wolf. It was rude to ignore him, though he doubted Seika would. In his own underwhelming way, he'd respond. During the silence Khal would simply be telepathically communicating to his brother. Not actually, but it was almost as if Khalfani could tell Seika knew that checking in was merely a disguise for...something else. He hated that the Captain was capable of seeing through him like that. However, it was only the truth if it was said out loud. Taking another drag of the spliff, he waited. "If you miss me just say that." On second thought, he couldn't wait any longer. He was getting irritated.

Looking upon his brother, and his brothers... companion, Seika would finally turn away from Khalfani, not even rising to the young man's brash statement. He didn't know if it would get a rise out of him, but knowing Khalfani, he disliked being ignored. It was something that Seika never quite understood, the large amount of self-importance the young man had. Sure they were both Princes, but Seika never felt that they gave him the right to demand more of others around him. Just another way they were different he supposed.
Leveling his heavy gaze upon the other young man, Seika quickly memorized the rather exotic features his brothers companion had. Seika could easily see what drew his brother to the young man. He was rather... refreshing. He would maintain the stare down for but a few more moments before finally leaning back in his chair and humming softly to himself before turning back to Khalfani and finally responding to the boy turned man. "احوالت چطوره داداش", he spoke in Desiertian. It was a pet peeve he remembered of his brother, for whatever reason the boy hated talking in the Fiorian language if he didn't need to. It wasn't something that Seika minded honestly, he was a fairly recent speaker, but the royal courts were pretty good in their instruction of his mother tongue.

Amir was lucky that his lover was the one to break the silence. He had taken the liberty of placing his hand on the black nightmares thigh. Leveling up the brother scrutinizing gaze with his own. It was with a reluctance that Amir could admit he liked what he saw. The bulkier build was to his taste even if the personality was trash rated so far. Self confidence and the will to pull it off worked more than broody. The scholar could only conclude that the brothers branched off due to their differences in personalities. Amir believed if he had a little sibling he would have treated them a lot more kindly. The cold reunion was becoming more annoying than the weather.
The flowing accent of Desiertian drew his attention. Amir was more used to the grating rough dialect of the lower class. He could speak the flower like upper crest style; it just took him more concentration. Ignoring the fact that he was not spoken to, Amir responded to the question. Turning to look at the most beautiful face. “من دوست دارم باور کنم تو خوب بودی، حداقل یک نفر در گوشه خودت داری.” He gave them a smile and a squeeze on the thigh. Amir wanted to make sure his partner was calm enough. The scholar was not stupid enough to try and control his mate. He was just learning better on how to work with them. “به علاوه، شما مودب تر بودید، حداقل زمانی که ما برای اولین بار ملاقات کردیم.”
Fri Mar 04, 2022 1:24 am
"من خوبم عزیزم" he said simply, with a straight face now that his brother had successfully shifted the energy. He then turned to face his brother, still responding to his moon, Amir. "أنت قصة مختلفة ، لا يحصل الجميع على نفس المعاملة. خاصة لا boot licker." He finished off in the more common dialect of Desiertan. An act of protest. He was no different than the common-folk of Desierto. Yes, he deserved everything he was, but that didn't make him better than anyone. Everyone deserved to be treated like royalty. "أنا بخير يا أخي. هذا هو شريكي أمير. اعتقدت أنهما يجب أن تتقابلوا." It was odd. Despite Khnurn being on the side of true evil, Khalfani still yearned for his approval. Amir, to the panther, was everything and more. This meeting was just as much about him as it was about the captain.

Cocking a sly grin, the older brother finally relented on his pressure, forgoing the next part of his examination in favor of finally greeting the guest properly. It was a small gesture, only a curt nod of approval and a whisper of “به علاوه، شما مودب تر بودید، حداقل زمانی که ما برای اولین بار ملاقات کردیم.” He would actually truly relax in his chair, the flimsy cheap metal of a park bench whining in protest as the large man settled and attempted to clear the air of hostilities. He was truly aware of how he was as a person, but he also needed to keep up the act at times in defense of his little Brother, the only true blood he had left in the world after their parents had passed. Of course he would never tell Khalfani this directly, the young man would hang it over his head for all eternity if he knew that Seika was actually fiercely protective of him, even going so far as to look the other way with all of his various misdeeds.
As such he took the insults and snide comments in stride, his brother may see him as a boot licker now, but having someone like him on the inside was far more valuable then trusting the safety and security of their people within Fiore to these... people. Racism bred ignorance as the saying went, and as long as he was in charge, the amount of profiling done on their people had dropped significantly since he had taken the position. Of course once again it wasn't something that Khalfani could see from the outside looking in. He only saw his beloved brother prostrating himself before another King like some sort of servant. Which in a way was fair. But Seika had other plans, other worries. The worthless mortals of this country and indeed Earthland were far below his list of concerns if he were truly honest. But in a way he guessed that's what put him at odds with his brother. He never saw the forest for the trees. The people were what truly mattered, but he could never focus on the people because the things that threatened them were far beyond their understanding. And unfortunately, he could never explain that.
So instead, he would take charge of the conversation, cutting to the heart of the matter before either could continue this pointless back and forth, no matter how comedic it was. "پس موضوع جلسه امروز چیست؟ خودت میدونی چقدر سرم شلوغه امیدوارم این فقط برای معرفی مهمان دوست داشتنی ما در اینجا نباشد. در حالی که من مطمئن هستم که شما عاشق دریافت تایید من از چیزها هستید، همانطور که بارها به من بسیار شیوا و شیوا گفته اید، آنچه در مورد رابطه شما فکر می کنم بی اهمیت است. پس معنای واقعی این چیست؟ "

The nod of acknowledgement was enough to placate them. Amir did not view it as hard to do but who knew what it cost the giant. He ignored the words that came out. He just did not think the big man was speaking to him. A sudden thought struck him. Could the big lug be one of those tsundere people he heard about. That would explain the aloofness that came off of him. It could be a form of armor he used to protect himself. The scholar did some quick calculations tuning the conversation out. Judging by appearance and temperament, the likelihood of anyone banging Seika to be in charge, was at 93%. When his mind remembered where he was he thought to go for a walk.
“ من می خواهم چند نوشیدنی بخرم. آیا کسی چیز خاصی می خواهد؟” Amir bent his head and whispered to his mate. “زود برمی گردم. مواظب خودت باش عشقم” He wanted to give them some time alone. Amir understood he was not actually family. The entire time all he wanted was to support his love. Giving them the needed time to work things out was alright with him. Amir could not afford to hover. It would bore him to do nothing and sit at the park bench.
Sun Mar 06, 2022 3:15 am
Khalfani would never tell Khnurn that his approval mattered, it was just something that went without saying. It wasn't something Amir needed to know either. So much for the bro-code am I right? After he finished speaking, there was a pause. Amir stood up and turned to the Black Panther, ready to depart in order to give the brothers space. Khalfani sighed. This was not it. As a last attempt to keep the Wolf engaged, Khal gently grabbed his hand to pull him back in for a kiss if his partner allowed. The kiss would be long, sensual, and dramatic. Amir was special, and this would declare just that to the captain of the Rune Knights. After a few seconds of tasting each other, Khalfani would speak to Amir.
"I'm sorry about this, baby. Don't go too far, I promise this'll be quick."
Then turning to the slight darker massive man, he smirked. "انظر ماذا فعلت للتو؟" The vampire shook his head in disappointment. He glared. "I missed you, brother. I wanted to see how you are and... I guess I also wanted to know if you were ready to stop being the kings whore. أنت تعلم أنه لا يوجد حب لنا هنا." Straight to business. Khalfani thought about the day the two of them may have to clash for the future of not only Fiore, but perhaps even Desierto and the rest of the world. There had to be a way to stop that from happening, even if it meant trying to convince his brother every chance he got.
"I'm working on something big. A home for us here and I want you to be apart of it. Grandfather believes that we should never be too far apart and I happen to agree. I need my brother with me."
Wed Mar 09, 2022 4:52 pm
"Apologies for my conduct and lack of manners, but I think I will take that drink. A warm jasmine tea if you can find a stall that serves it."
It wasn't that he was trying to dismiss Amir or push him away, but Seika knew how passionate Khalfani when he felt he had stumbled across a plan or scheme that he truly believed in. Though Seika truly believed his brother was on the right path and just needed guidance, the young man was far too headstrong to actually take his advice or guidance due to his own perceived notions of Seika's allegiance, not only to him, but to their people. Seika would give the young man a chance to vacate the premises, but should he choose not to, or whether or not Khalfani didn't give him the chance, Seika would continue to in short terms break Khalfani's heart.
"Does your home have to do with the moves and plans your current guild have been making? Believe it or not Khalfani, my being in this region is no accident. Odin Morningstar is no mage to be tying yourself too, not for one as yourself of royal blood. The man has no love for any King, Grandfather included. So if you intend to continue working with, or for him, I can not join your plans for a 'home'."
He would give it a second for his words to marinate before beginning to speak again, hopefully cutting off Khalfani before he immediately jumped to conclusions and stuck his own foot in his mouth again, "...But I do agree. We do need to stick together, which is why I have been working on my own sort of... home. Away from the ties of this country, away from the ties of Grandfather. While yes, it is mainly rooted in my need for allies to fight the forces of Destruction, at the end of the day it is intended to be an Oasis for our people away from the harsh realities that has been forced upon them by not only Grandfather, but all King's of this accursed land. I don't expect you to follow me in this venture. But know that your words and concerns have been heard by me, and I'm taking my own steps to rectify them."
Finally he stopped speaking to allow Khalfani the chance to respond. For once he spoke his mind directly to Khalfani, if only to get him to see the bigger picture. There was no King that was a master of Seika, he did not make goals around King's. But King's provided a resource that no single person or servant could, and that was an abundant source of readily available money, that was legal. And if it meant bending his neck so that he could bless the people he had witnessed struggling the most, then he would take the knee every time.

The scholar took some time and started walking off. His memory was trying to remind himself about the nearest location to acquire the drinks. Khal did not ask for anything specific but Amir knew what to grab him. Even if Khal did not want it they would have to take it. The other option was violence. The location that he came up with was a small cafe at the edge of the park. If Amir was a fast runner he would make the distance in three minutes, at his current speed, at least fifteen minutes.
Fri Mar 11, 2022 6:56 pm
Even after his Odin comment, the rogue prince had allowed the future king, whether he thought that's what he would be or not, to speak. It turned out that the two of them were more similar in mindset than Khalfani may have given them credit for. Khnurn was building something too. Something that sounded just like Khalfani was in the middle of building. That was enough to pique his interest, but not enough to make him believe that Khnurn would have the better plan. Still, the fact that he was so open about having listened to Khal was pleasing. That's all he wanted his brother to do, listen to him.
"I'm glad. I know you as the elder amongst us have always had my best interest in mind. All I've ever wanted was to make sure that you don't get caught up in the politics of Fiorians." He said, reassuring Khnurn that he too, also had his brothers back in the grand scheme of things. "Odin has nothing to do with my own endeavors, you should know this. He is the one who raised me, who took me when all else seemed to have abandoned me. He is my father. However..." He turned away to gaze upon the sun for a second. It had been gentler to him on this day. Turning back to his brother he sighed.
"This has nothing to do with him. What I'm building is exactly what you've mentioned building. A Paradise for people like us. Away from kings, queens, Lords and ladies. We've felt their crushing knees upon our neck for far too long. Why not come together and build that with me. This is for all of our people, whether they're in Fiore or in Desierto, to all have a place to feel safe. I know that you may think that I'm overly ambitious. Shit, perhaps even naive, but I assure you brother, I know what I'm doing." He said. His eyes clearly conveying how passionate he was about this.
"You've already expressed that leading is not what you aspire to do, but I know that one of us has to do it so I'm stepping up to the plate. I need you there to check me. To guide me. That's the reason you exist. Apophis and Amun, me and you. I need you to believe in me."

And so here the older brother sat, before his younger brother once again, at a crossroads of thoughts and implications. Like Khalfani said, them working together would be more beneficial, but Khnurn could not bow before Khalfani. Not because he was older, not because he was far more powerful, but because principally he was destined to lead, to take charge, to provide the light that Khalfani reflected onto others. And he could not do that in the boys shadow. So once again he would have to break his brothers heart, but in a way that maybe, just maybe one day the two would finally be reunited under one banner where they both belonged.
"The offer is appreciated Khalfani but I can not accept. Perhaps in the future we can join banners, but it seems that today isn't that day." He knew he wouldn't have to explain his reasoning to his brother, but was fully prepared to do so should Khalfani not find his answer acceptable. It was unfortunate that the young man had started this process without consulting him first, but he understood that his brother had goals and aspirations that existed far beyond its current scope.
Wed Mar 16, 2022 7:30 am
Making his way back Amir caught the tail end of the conversation, it was something about banners. Amir assumed it was about them working together. It was still none of his business so he was not inclined to ask. He simply gave everyone their drink orders like a dutiful secretary. Looking at the sun he approximated the time, and realized he spent more time arguing than he thought. He had promised to get some harder quests done this week. One included shooting over to another guild.
“Sorry Habibi. I wasted so much time and I just realized I have to go. I have some personal business to take care of.” He turned towards Seika. Giving him an inquisitive look as he worried about the man's problematic personality. “It was a pleasure meeting you Seika. Next time maybe we can chat about Khalfani growing up.” It was all the wolf was going to say before heading out to his next mission.

My, how he hated when the Minstreli left him. Part of him feared he'd never come back. Turning his gaze back towards his brother, the demon slayer, Khalfani sighed. "I understand. It's only right that you follow the path you set out for yourself. We are men with legendary legacies after all. I look forward to seeing what my big brother accomplishes, who's legacy will be greater and all that." he chuckled before standing up. It was true, though he was merely teasing. It was Khal's strange way of embracing his heritage and admitting his deep residing rivalry with Khnurn. "I love you brother. May we never meet on the opposite side of the battlefield." Khalfani said before turning away to catch up with Amir. He doubted that they would, but things played out weirdly all the time...especially if the gods had anything to do with it.
Thu Mar 31, 2022 8:45 pm
Standing up from the chair, he would take the tea offered to him with himself as he walked away minutes later, his quiet contemplation tucked away for later as he marched back towards the hotel room. He still had much work to do.
