Fieros Girdle. So the legends were true. This was not a land that mere humans could trek across without suffering the consequences. The land of fire, death, and destruction. It was beautiful. The ground seemed to be black with cracks all through it and the air was dense- nearly suffocating. Even so, the conditions of Fieros Girdle would make a good training ground for the vampire. All they needed was ten days. Ten days would push them beyond their limits, especially here. The Desiertan gazed onto the land from above on their Gryphon, deciding where they would land. Smaller volcanoes erupted from different areas so they would have to be intentional about where they would stand. Their trusted steed began to grow agitated because of the lands conditions, so Khal patted her so that she would descend quickly. They didn't expect her to stay either, that'd be selfish. So as soon as she landed they grabbed their bags off of her back and rubbed her goodbye. "I'll see you in a week and a half." With that she flew off and the training commenced.

"Seventy-six...seventy-seven...seventy-eight..." Khalfani counted out loud as they pushed themselves off of the scorching ground beneath them. The heat would build their endurance no doubt, and the pushups would definitely build their strength. The heat alone was painful and the vampire had been sweating everywhere on their body, even the more uncomfortable places. This is what they were there for though; to become stronger. Now that they were officially a member of Eternal Nightmare they had to make sure they could pull their weight. They'd be damned if they were the weakest link. Not only that, but now they carried Odin's last name. The legacy of morningstar would be a legendary one. Moreso, the young creature of the night had real goals. In order to become monarch of Fiore, there would be people they'd have to beat. In order to assume the throne of Desierto, they'd have to be able to beat their older brother. Power demanded strength- not just mentally either. Khalfani meant something now. So with each push they ignored the pain in their hands, their arms and in their chest. They could hardly breathe but they had to keep pushing. "One-hundred-ten...one-eleven...one-twelve...one-thirteen...one-fourteen..." The volcanoes hadn't erupted just yet, but they would be prepared for when it did. "two-ninety...two-ninety-one..."

A total of four hundred push ups the day before was enough to create burns and blisters all over Khalfani's hands. Pain was all in the mind though and so in order to push through the pain they would have to pretend like they couldn't feel it. Today the volcanoes were spitting out lava and molten rocks. The type of training the teenager was putting themselves through was probably extreme, but this was the quickest way to improve. As the rocks and lava drops fell from the Sky, Khalfani had to dodge, flip, leap and straight up punch through the rocks. If they didn't have the healing factor of a vampire they definitely wouldn't have managed the way they were. The Lava seemed to target them with how close it came to hitting, but luckily Khalfanis eyes were amongst the best. Their reflexes were being tested right now. The mage punched through every rocked that hailed from the multiple volcanos, kicking through some as well. Their clothes were being burned off, their limbs charred and cut by the edges of the stones. Then finally, after two hours the volcanoes calmed down. With an accomplished sigh, the little lord walked over to their bag. They had the same sweaty, smelly clothes on for the last three days. The only reason they were changing them now was to put the weights on. They grabbed a bag of blood from their bag and drank it all the way down. Then they sat down for a moment "Fourteen more hours to go, then sleep." They said to themselves. That's how much they were training; 16 hours a day.

Fieros Girdle made a great training ground for its air quality. The thick mana infused air made it extremely hard to breathe, but it would also build lung capacity. When Khalfani left this place, they would have increased breath control greatly. They could already feel their body getting stronger despite how excruciatingly sore it was. No pain, no gain. Today they would be running towards the largest volcano on the island. The smaller volcanoes were back to spitting up lava and molten rocks like puking babies but instead of confronting the obstacles head on they would be focused on sprinting to their destination and back. The vampire began running towards the large volcano, dodging and weaving rocks and lava. It was impressive that they hadn't felt the sizzle of any lava since they had been here on what seemed to be the edge of the world. They kept at it, evading what they perceived to be their enemies for the sake of the exercise until finally they had reached the volcano and sprinted back. Jumping up and down they were excited to reach their goal. Now it was finally time to find the safest part of the land to a long day of rest.

Rest was a crucial part in breaking through and unlocking your latent potential. If you didn't rest at some point then you were really just destroying your own body. So furthest away from the volcanoes, Khalfani slept, snoring loudly. They deserved it too because for the past 4 four days they had been training like there was no tomorrow. Admittedly, there was a sense of urgency although they really did have a lot of time. The vampire stretched on the blanket beneath them, sweating just from sleeping. Nonetheless, it felt good. This was probably the best sleep they had in a long long time. Finally after about fourteen hours they popped up with a yawn, stretching their arms out above them. They rubbed their eyes, grabbed their bag and snatched a bag of red sweet-scented blood. The land was keeping the blood warm so it still had a fresh taste. When they were done they hopped up and began stretching the rest of their body. It was time to continue their training regime but this time they were going to be doing something less demanding of their body and more demanding of the mind.

Today was the first day of meditation. In order to really elevate, the mind needed to be controlled as well. This was an attempt to truly control their aura. Everyone had an aura but Khal had no idea what their aura was or what powers it would bestow. Some people attracted wealth, some attracted love, some had an easier time understanding magic, some used their aura to enhance their magic. There really was no specific type of Aura from what the desiertian had learned. They sat on the scorching ground, now a little closer to the volcano before closing their eyes and placing their legs in pretzel position. They calmed their mind, allowing it to roam free. The crackling of the fire in the air could be heard. They focused on feeling the energy outside of their body that wasn't mana. Aura was a completely different ball game. With deep breathes in and out, they would remain still for the entire day until they could finally propel their aura outside of their body. This wasn't hard at all, considering Khalfani meditated regularly. What made it slightly more challenging was the mana in the air. It was distracting but it was not enough to not stop them.

An entire day had passed. The sun was rising once again and Khalfani still hadn't moved from their folded position. Their hands rested on their knees, ignoring the crackling sound of the fire and the gurgling sound of the volcanoes up ahead. They had been meditating, controlling their aura and embracing the mana in the air. In fact, they hadn't even moved to feed. This was the control that was necessary for the vampire because for so long they had allowed their hunger to consume the very fabric of their being. Death followed everywhere they went because of the nature of their vampirism, but now...now they felt in control. It was a good thing too because the young Desiertan often felt the need to stay in the shadows. The pain they had felt from their intense workouts had no longer existed. They were becoming one with the energies around them. Some of the energies rejected them, but others welcomed the young nightmare mage in with open arms. When the sun was at its highest, they would be down mediating and it would be time to test out their strength. Aura training was tiring.

The mage stood up, glaring at the giant volcano on the other side of the land. The ground beneath them was hot but not like how it was when they first step foot onto Fieros. The glanced down at their hand before opening and closing it, feeling a lot lighter than before. The air was easier to breathe in and their limbs were no longer in pain. Progress. Today would simply be another training day. So without wasting another moment, Khal fell to their hands and began the exercise. Everything was so much easier now. The rate at which they were growing was unusual. They quickly lowered themselves then pushed themselves back up continuously. Up...down, up...down. Soon they began to sweat, but there was no stopping. They continued until they realized how strong they were becoming. So they pushed themselves into a handstand and began doing push-ups that way. Up..down...up..down. Then, after another hundred they decided to use one hand. Up...down...up...down. There was a voice in the back of their head telling them to keep going. They had something to prove to nobody but themselves in this moment.

One more day and Khalfani would finally be getting off of this city of lava. They stood facing the volcanoes with their hands to their side, focusing all of their energy at the pit of their stomach. Then they imagined their aura engulfing their entire body. Moments passed and nothing had happened. Still, Khal wasn't going to give in. Slowly but surely their aura had been manifesting outside of their body. It flickered until finally a wave of energy surrounded their body. Immediately the young vampire felt significantly stronger, as if they could punch through an entire guild. Their eyes widened as they watched the glimmering aura surround them. So this was their aura; a strength enhancement. It was like a transformation except it didn't require mana to upkeep. Amazing, they thought as they began to stretch their limbs. This called for a well needed celebration. After stretching, the Desiertan moved towards their bag and grabbed the second to last bag of blood before draining the entire thing. They finally reached a new level of power. However, the goal was to beat Erebus; the most infamous mage in Eternal nightmare. Somehow even this amount of power didn't feel like enough. So, after drinking the blood they began to do jumping jacks...then push ups...then sit ups. This was the fourth quarter.

The last day. The Gryphon was already in the area, roaring in the sky as if she was rushing Khalfani. The mage was focused though. There was one more challenge that they needed to accomplish. Slowly Khal closed their eyes, activating their area before dragging one foot behind the other. After a moment passed, they propelled themselves forward at incredible speeds moving towards the largest volcano. It was already spitting up lava and molten rocks. Khalfani, with their newfound strength, punched through each rock like nothing. It didn't even hurt their hands. The giant rocks came from virtually everywhere but the vampire made sure not to dodge even one of them. This was the test of their strength. They continued running forward until finally they reached the giant volcano. With a shout of happiness they jumped up and down. The Gryphon roared proudly before diving towards their master and picking them up with their claws. Tired, Khalfani climbed onto the gryphons back and fell out. Time to take a well needed bath. Aura unlocked and finally mastered.
