Their arrival at the staging area had been rather uneventful, Seika had come across some valuables that likely belonged to some nobodies that they were supposed to return, instead he pocketed them for Jewels later. The passageway was already been cleared by the both of them literally two days ago. As such it was a simple affair of finding the hole they were going to enter through, and being literally manhandled for long enough that he could reach the bottom of the pit. It was at the bottom of their drop however when all things came crashing down for Seika as the inky maw of darkness swallowed them whole.
Many cultures have tried and failed to describe the otherworldly void that surrounded and filled the world around them. It ate at the foundations, peeling and consuming all that were unfortunate to fall within the depths of its maw. It threatened every sentient species with obliteration as it clawed forth. It despised the light that filled the world now, it coveted the growth and knowledge that the denizens of the world have amassed for themselves. It hungered for the knowledge, it yearned for their flesh, their blood, their agony...
The darkness that surrounded Seika was not normal darkness. As an envoy of Sol he was privy to many things. He understood the truth of the world as had been dictated by his god. There had always been a dark force, a dark energy that waited in between the cracks, that seeped through the darkness where Sol's majesty couldn't reach. It wished for nothing but complete destruction yet it also seemed to work to actively assimilate all knowledge that it could come across if only to fuel the never ending march towards obliteration. It was such an unthinking, unfeeling evil that any who came across it would instantly lose their minds to the insanity that was the Deep. The void between voids, the dark swirling chaos that would eventually swallow all. Many Gods, both old and new had fought and struggled against the Deep, they had put their all into containing such a force that had existing long even before Illumin. And at some points, they had succeeded, they had kept the Deep at bay. But like all things in this multiverse, they weren't infallible and their methods weren't indefinite. Eventually the Deep through millennia of patience and constant vigilance had oozed itself through enough cracks to once again affect the greater unknown, to once again flex its influence in a multiverse who had yet to feel its all encompassing might.
To Seika, who was just an emissary of a lesser God, to feel such an eldritch touch grace his very essence was enough to send him into stark insanity. Eyes rolled up into oblivion, he was graced with sights and sensations that no other mortal had experienced ever. Seika could feel the dread this presence inflicted upon him. Humanity was not ready to face this threat. No one entity was ready to face such a thing. They would all die. They would all die. They would all die.
They would all die.
They would all die.

Light.
Light and heat filled Seika as his staff burst to life while within his hands, the presence that had surrounded him, that had consumed him, that had filled his entire being was being pushed by back by that simple pilot flame. Air rushed into overly exerted lungs as he struggled to steady himself, his body clenched in fear and confusion. He knew not what direction he faced, his location in the world, nor how he had gotten here. But he knew he had to run. He had to flee. he had to live. His very life would end if he stayed. He could not stay. Not after feeling that.
Terror gripped the Monk's heart as he began to flee into any direction that would take him. His body tearing through the inky black rats that had swallowed him whole, their bright ruby red eyes staring upon him with looks of hunger and understanding. It was at that point he knew. He understood why these rats, why all of these creatures seemed to be so much... so much more...
He knew not where Hitomi was, but he knew he had to eradicate this place. These... things could not see the light of Sol. If they did, Fiore... no all of Earthland would be wiped from existence.
Pilot flame raging to life, he lifted his staff up above his head, magical energy coursing through his veins, lighting him up in a dazzling show of glowing golden light. His prominence flared as his magical presence eclipsed all who stood before him. The heat in the cavern reached temperatures that would be almost comparable to that as the surface of the Sun itself. The rats before him scurried backwards in fear and understanding. They were no longer facing the scared man. They were facing the Avatar. The cavern shook as his magic reacted to his presence and actions. The cavern's ceiling bursting downwards as a thick beam of light suddenly burst forth to encompass all beneath it. The light seemed unnatural, otherworldly as the Avatar gazed upon those who wished the world around it harm. The golden irises of Seika glowed with a might yet unseen as the staff in his hands began to tilt downwards, as if he were pointing it at the scrambling mass. Unfortunately for this particular extension of the deep, there was no escape.
Silence filled the cavern as the beam of light focused itself upon the rats, sparing the other denizens who called the locale home. Light and heat were suddenly focused upon the mass before a single glowing orb of light dropped within the focused lens of the beam. Upon touching down on the ground in the middle of the swarming mass, the entire cavern blanked from existence. The world turned white as the cavern was essentially nuked from the heavens, erasing all that were there from view. Such a spectacle was visible as far as Era in terms of the glowing lights in the horizon. For Orchidia it was as if a second Sun had appeared in the sky. But for a few scant moments, the light and heat harmed none but what the Avatar deemed as unforgivable in its realm. No natural born creatures, no man-made artifacts, no human's and not itself were even touched by the light nor the heat of the blast. By time Hitomi would come across Seika's slumped form, all traces of the Avatar were gone from his presence leaving just a tired and scarred man behind.
