Kaito

Kaito is walking through Astra and he had been hearing stories on the street about some kind of monster that was attacking adventurers and people that were passing through the area that it could just start praying on and he wonders if he can help in anyway to remove some of this terror and fear. He looks for anyone that is willing to talk and want to let him know of what or where this monster is and how he might come about finding it and taking it down to help the town feel and be a safer place for the people that live here and visit here. He is waved into a place that seems to be a merchants shop the merchant calls him in close and they start talking about something called a Barrang that is terrorizing the area for the people and the adventures that come and go from this area.

Kaito

They tell Kaito about how no one has ever really lived to tell the tale of what it had really looked like and what it was gonna look like if they had to come across it but Kaito was in luck this person was looking to hire someone to go and take care of the Barrang. Kaito looks the person over unsure if he is really looking to be going in the middle of the big hunt of this creature that has been doing all this killing and mayhem or if he is going to capture this thing of mighty things and deal with it. He starts walking and to go and look for what he can find he starts walking around the town to see if he can find more information on this creature or what way people have gotten reports about the creature being but it is coming out with no real answers just very vague finger pointing.

Kaito

He decides that he will check the way the most fingers had pointed first and work his way down the list till he finds something from the info he has and maybe can track the beast that he is looking for. The way of the first finger he goes and he looks for anything that might lead him in the right way as he has really no leads to follow besides the pointed fingers that had nothing that he could really follow as proof but he soon finds a giant burrow hidden behind some rocks and he goes down into it but he and his hunting instincts can tell this is an old burrow that hadn't been used for a bit, at times like these he was thankful to his master that had beaten tracking into him or else he would stupidly just follow the underground tunnels till they hit a dead end but as he knows better he only has to see it's nesting habits to find out how long it might seem to roost in between moving to newer locations.

He looks around and by the piles of waste and where the bones are on the floor of the tunnel he figures it moves at least once a week as he found papers from days that fall a week a part. He can't be sure that this is concrete as this was just a lucky find and explains why the fingers seemed to point from this place and in an arcing direction from here cause this was an active hunting ground till it was known to be here so it moved on to stop being eluded by the prey that it was hunting. Kaito thinks this creature might have a higher intelligence as it seems to be itself a hunter and not just a dumb creature just looking for food it moves at good paces and it seems to bait as well for the things it seeks cause of their own human greed they come.

When he walks out he see the ore veins in the rock faces near by and he is sure this creature is indeed baiting humans with their own greed and there own avarice for items that the town has and the glory that a port city brings in from boasting having such things and he wasn't gonna blame the city but the monster he is hunting is gonna be harder then he had first thought to find and hunt as it puts it's burrows in blind spots and it seems to be quick from how the tracks it left seem to be, as it has claws but the angles of the prints seem to make it look like it was quadrupedal and it was strong with it's front two feet and it is huge and might be dense but swift so the perfect storm of you lack a chance vs it.

He gets on some higher ground and he tries smelling for it with his dragon sense of smell or to see if he can see any extra burrows in case it is cautious and it has back up ones in case the new burrow is found and he has to keep an eye out for him and his partner Revy as this thing might be an ambush predator that is just waiting to catch them off guard and try to kill them. Revy walks around staying within a certain distance of Kaito like he said and he starts walking down as he thinks he sees something coming and he starts running as he sees a merchant heading in hot as he is being chased by the monster he is hunting and Revy yells to send her to the merchant and she will lead him to safety and Kaito can handle the beast.

Kaito does as Revy asked and he teleports the exceed to the wagon and she appears on the seat next to the man driving the wagon and they look at the exceed as she talks him through his panic and tells him that he is in luck that the dimensional dragon slayer was in the neighborhood and he will be taking care of that beast and keep them safe and the man calms and just listens to what the exceed tells him to do and they make it away from the area and leaves Kaito a play ground to play and fight this thing on.  The creature sees Kaito and tries to turn away from him to follow the wagon again but Kaito springs at it and strikes it stopping it dead in its tracks as Kaito as not pulling his punches vs this thing and he is gonna need to get it to come up out of the ground.

Kaito

He makes a rift and it rips the creature up out of the ground and the creature struggles and it swings its arms in the air as it has nothing to grab onto and as it falls Kaito jumps and uses his rings spell to push his forward and he slash the beast along it's belly and the creature lets out and out worldly roar and lands hand on the ground and it struggles on the ground as it's belly was sliced open and its insides were slowly sliding out of it. Kaito uses his wild dragon force gaining a boost to his stats and he walks over and he severs the beasts head from it's neck and he removes a few teeth from it's dead mouth and takes a few pieces of the body that  way he can use them for things and maybe look into it and find out if it was from this dimension or if it had leaked through. He ports himself to the merchant that had given him the mission and gives them the teeth being paid by them as they are amazed at the feat and then he heads off to grab Revy so they can go get a bath and eat.
