Baska, this town never fails to attract tourists, travelers, and fighters with the famous tournament. With the tournament being held, Baska became really famous each time. The more tournaments happened, the more the story spread out, and the more epic battles could be seen. The epic story about the tournament gets more and more exciting to hear, especially when it comes to the final fight, mostly some violence story, but still exciting for people who like to see fights and powers. Well, the same tournament brought Achlys back to this place to attend the tournament. “When was the last time I visited Baska?” Think Achlys as she walks in the direction of the great stone of Baska. Seems like Achlys can’t really remember the last time she went here, but she didn’t really see anything that much different. But this time, it seems like Achlys got to the location earlier. Not so many people gathered around the tournament arena, that means she is early and still has some time to spend before the tournament starts.
Before she gets around town, she takes a look at the surroundings of the area looking for the registration while also calling back some memories in her head. The memories of the last time she joined the tournament came from one of a random person who lost her child during the tournament. That time, Achlys helps that woman to get her revenge, but now the situation is a little bit different, this time it is more about business and money. Someone is offered Achlys to pay for the accommodation for Achlys if she is willing to join this tournament to add more hype to the tournament. Not just that, she still can keep the money if she wins, and get extra payment if she killed someone during the tournament. As long as she doesn't get herself killed during the tournament, the treatment will also be paid by the same person. What a deal.
This time Achlys doesn’t have to act for someone she barely knows, she only needs to fight, and win, and maybe kill someone or a few to get some extra money and build some reputation as a bonus. Well, now that she’s done looking around the arena, Achlys finally finds the registration table and walks towards it. But her surroundings start to look at her and kinda lock their sight towards her, following her moves step by step while she’s getting closer to the registration table. Seems like she got some reputation and some people might know her face, or maybe they know that she is one of the members of Eternal Nightmare. But as she walks closer to the table, some people start to walk away, avoiding her and try to keep distance from her. It’s not really a bad thing for Achlys since she doesn’t really like and doesn’t really fit in a crowd anyways, so having people automatically keep distance from her is actually a win for her.
As she arrives at the registration table, she registers herself to join the tournament and gives her name to be called when the tournament is about to start and all participants need to gather near the arena. This time, the participants will pick a stick with numbers to decide who they have to fight in the first round of the tournament and the winner can advance to the next round and face the other winner from different pairs. Achlys already knows about the rules of this fight where no one will ever stop the fight even if someone gets killed, basically a tournament without any single rules. After she get the information about this new system of the tournament, she leaves the area and takes her time to revisit some place in Baska. For the sake of old time, Achlys comes to revisit some of her favorite places and spots in Baska. But it seems like those places are not just her favorite, but others as well. As she arrives at some of those places, more tourists are already there and those places have become more famous.
Unfortunately, this time the flea market was not held at the same time, so Achlys doesn’t really have a lot of choice of shops, tenants, merchants or stalls to visit. But this unfortunate event gave her the opportunity to try and explore Baska Square this time. The square of Baska is where most of the shops are located. It starts to get lively quite early because all the locals come here to purchase some bread, milk, or even eggs in the morning. Merchants sell their wares in small stalls they station in the center of the square during the day. For the sake of safety, the Rune Knights have placed a small garrison here in the barracks along with a superior. Oftentimes, the Rune Knights patrol the square to ensure the market is safe from theft. That is something she needs to be aware of, if she accidentally sees them something not really good for her might happen, besides that, she can freely explore the Square and look for something that might be useful, or maybe some items for fun.
It's a good thing that she is not in the middle of gathering information about anything. Usually, everywhere she goes, she will talk to strangers and ask for the information she needs from them. She also likes to visit as many merchants or shops as possible to do the same thing, asking and gathering any information she needs. This time she can purely enjoy the moment of strolling around the square. Visiting as many shops as she wants only to check if their shop has something interesting or something that she might need. She doesn’t have to worry about awkwardly starting a conversation to gather information, but she does have to remember the time so she doesn't end up being late for the tournament. She visits the shops, one by one. An item shop, an equipment shop, a bakery, she tried some food stalls, checked on some accessories stores, and really explored the market checking for the good stuff.
Now finally the time for the tournament to start is getting closer. As she needs to go back to the arena, she leaves the Square without buying items, only food and drinks, something that she can finish on the spot and doesn’t need to bring it around. Achlys starts to walk to the great stone as the tournament arena. She can’t lie, even if she’s doing this for the money, she can’t wait to see how many strong people and strong power she will be able to see today. Achlys is always interested in powers, to be able to see someone’s ability and strong power always makes her excited. To see someone with advanced fighting skill will also make her heart pound faster. Those excitement made her walk faster without her knowing, and ended up making her arrive at the arena faster, only to find out that the place is now full with so many people.
She arrives at the arena only to see that people are already gathering there, and most of them seem really excited to watch the tournament start. You can tell from their face that they can’t wait to see the fight between the participants and see who will be the winner for today’s tournament. Achlys starts to walk closer to the registration table, as she was instructed to go there before the tournament starts to pick her number. As she gets to the registration table, she mentions her name to the administrator to check if her name is already input as a participant and after her entry is confirmed, she picks the stick with the number and gets the number 9. She then stands close to the arena, since she won’t be the first participant to fight in this tournament, she might get the chance to see and observe the skill and ability of the other participants that will have their fight before her.
It doesn’t take that long until the tournament finally starts, and they start directly by calling two names for the first fight. Two male fighters get into the arena as the crowd starts shouting, hyping up the situation of the first fight. Both of them look really strong, with their bulky muscle bodies and weapons in their hands, it seems like both of them are not magic users. As the first fight starts, the shout of all the audience fills the atmosphere. The sword of sword clashing against each other, the sound from the fighter steps combine with their shout while swinging their swords, all combine into one ambiance and fills the place, making her feel the vibe. Fights after fights had passed, until it’s finally turn to fight. Her first fight during this tournament was surprisingly easy to her, her opponent is pretty bulky and big, but his magic skill is way under Achlys capabilities.
After her first fight, more fighters have to face each other in the tournament, some of them look really promising with their power, but some others probably join the tournament purely for fun and experience. But, after some fights the first round of the tournament is finally over. Some people are pretty injured while some others pass the first round without any trouble, including Achlys. On the other hand, the medical team is really busy because most of the participants that can’t make it through the first round are really injured and in a pretty bad condition. The crowd was cheering all the participants until suddenly, someone got to the stage and took all the attention. That person is an announcer, announcing that the first round is finally over and telling all the participants and the audience that the second round will be different from the first round and from their plan.
“How do you like the show, everybody?! WE GONNA HAVE MORE FUN ON THE SECOND ROUND!!!” as the announcer shouted, all the crowd also shouted hyping the arena of the tournament. “The second round will be different from the first round. We know that it is supposed to be the same, but we have a way more fun idea. WE GONNA HAVE A BATTLE ROYALE!!!” That announcement is followed by the voice of everyone in the crowd. “So, here’s the rule. All the participants will be in the arena and will fight against each other, all by themself. Only the last survivor will be the champion of this tournament and will take the prize and the title as the champion of Baska Tournament!!! ARE YOU READY?!” Ask the announcer to the crowd as every participant that passed round one starts to walk into the arena and stand there, making themself visible to all of the audience.
When the battle royale finally starts, everyone starts to fight against each other, the number of the participants that can still fight slowly reducing. In the middle of that chaotic fight between everyone, Achlys with all her calmness starts to walk towards the middle of the arena. With everyone around her fighting against each other, and the voice from the excited crowd around the arena, who will pay attention to a small girl like Achlys walking in the middle of them. As she arrives at the middle of the arena, she snaps her finger triggering one of her spells. With her ability to cast spells without a magic seal, the Death Mist that starts to come out from underneath them gives a surprise to everyone inside the area. That mist quickly fills the 32 meters area with Achlys as the center of it and when the Death Mist starts to fade out, a lot of bodies can be seen laying down in the arena. All the participants that join the battle royale for the second round of this tournament are dead, leaving their body on the ground filling the floor of the arena. With only Achlys standing in the arena, she instantly became the winner and got the prize from the tournament. She also claims the extra money from someone that hired her for killing people during the tournament.
