She went about her room and watered the specific plants which did need watering that day and was a happy little bug herself all the way. She changed into something more appropriate to wear for the days events, an outing, an escort mission, rather, with an aristocrat. It was nothing new to her, really, she had taken this job a few times before already and there was little she felt could stand in her way should some thugs once again decide that her and the target she was escorting were feeble enough to mug. She smiled at the thought, her harmless appearance was a boon for these sort of jobs, no one ever really knew just what she was capable of. Ikanbi left her room within the guild hall and slowly made her way to the kitchen that had been established after their arrival. She whisked up some eggs, added a little milk, cheese, some tomatoes, some peppers, and some pork. After a few moments, she had put together a mighty fine omelette that touched her soul just right first thing in the morning.
Ikanbi finished up her breakfast with an apple, a bright delicious red one with pink mottling across its surface that was quiet crisp and wonderful to her palette. Next she began to make her way out of the guild hall, rummaging around in her traveler's pouch for her grappling gun and affixing it into the specially made notches on the rail she had installed onto the side of the building and using it to scale down to the buildings just below. Fortunately the flying fortress was currently quite close to the buildings below and so her journey was not too harrowing to exit the building. She had put on her good gloves and slid down the rest of the way, knowing full and well that the gloves would hold up under the friction of the cable from the grappling gun. She looked around, it was to be a more pleasant sort of day than the day before, she supposed. The sky was more clear, but still the dark incursion loomed over her thoughts. What would she do if she were to run into Kon the Conqueror? She shook her head at the thought. She would run, of course.
She royal huntress made her way through the streets of Myras and she quickly and surely made it into the wealthier district. She had a simple job today, one she had taken a few times before but that never seemed to get too old. Escorting a rich nobleman or woman to the lower district so that they could safely purchase some oddities that they desired. It was real, simple, honest work. There was no hunting to be done here, just protecting. So far, every time Ikanbi had taken this job something had gone sideways and she had gotten into a scuff with thugs. She hoped today might be different but still, she knew that she was fully capable of handling herself. Truthfully she was not at all worried about it, let the thugs come, she had thought to herself. What difference did it make? She would surely take care of them when or if they arrived and the noblemans always did pay her extra for the troubles. Sometimes they even gave her little trinkets and other gifts. Ikanbi stopped for a moment to a nice, upscale shop within the wealthier district and did purchase for herself a nice hot tea. With hints of Bergamot, she was delighted with the taste, the smell, the soothing texture as the tea slid down her throat. It was surely an experience, but, she couldn't help but think to herself that the tea in the lower district was just as good for a far better price.
She met up with her nobleman, it was the same as when she first took this sort of job. They exchanged pleasantries and chatted about nothing and everything as they walked through the streets of Myras. Ikanbi filled them in on her antics since the last time they saw each other and the nobleman did the same, telling Ikanbi about his outings and lavish parties. "You should come to one sometime, I'll send you an invitation to the next one actually, you really shouldn't miss it, I'd love you have you around. You wouldn't have to work....though I suppose you could if you wanted." He let out a light chuckle. The two of them entered a trinket shop and Ikanbi checked around the perimeter as he shopped. She swiveled her head back and forth, gazing up and down the street as they exited the shop and seeing that the coast was clear for now lead the way slowly back towards the wealthier district. They didn't get terribly far when two thugs approached them and demanded they hand over all their money. Ikanbi sighed and immediately kicked the closer one of them in the crotch as hard as she could and the man fell to the ground instantly. She retrieved from her belt a small bat of sorts, a real bludgeoning type weapon that was concealed by the flaps of her coat and she violently swung it into the crotch of the next one, dispatching the both of them with great ease within a matter of seconds. The nobleman thanked her and they went along their way, mostly undisturbed for the remainder of their trip back to the wealthier district.
