For the most part, it was a peaceful afternoon—if you didn't count the nearly naked seven-foot Daemon beating the hell out of a roaring Wyvern in the sky above the guild hall. Zayir didn't consider himself to be someone who abused animals, but if brutally thrashing a creature who'd been terrorizing the people of the east meant that he'd be labeled one, then so fucking be it. At least he'd be able to say that he killed a Dragon with his bare hands. The Desiertan Viking clenched his jaws as he tightened his arms around the beast's neck. The wyvern moved side to side, circling around the guild building trying to shake its enemy off any way it could but to no avail. Zayir had the grip of a behemoth. "Bwahaha!!" he roared. The thrill was what he lived for! "You're...a tough one..." he muttered. The beast's cries filled the skies. Slowly but surely the beast was losing consciousness. "but I will kill you, and then I will eat you." He said.

Ikanbi
It had been a while since Ikanbi had witnessed a pit fighter of her own kind. The vikings, gladiators, the pit fighters, whatever they wanted to be called from Desierto were one of a kind. As ruthless as they were tactical, she had heard of Zayir the viking and seen him in passing, but she couldn't say that they were actually acquainted, yet. The merchant from Desierto sat atop the guild hall as it floated in the sky and gazed upon the scene. Zayir was fearlessly wrestling with a great beast, a dragon none the less.

She admired his handywork, he seemed to be putting the dragon through quite the lesson. With ease Zayir wrestled with the great wyvern and Ikanbi had to admit she was impressed. She wondered what other great beasts he had fought in his day, whether or not this was even his first dragon. The ease with which he handled the task showed that he was just as fearless as she, a trait she didn't find in too many others. Zayir the viking was putting in work, and Ikanbi was a lone cheerleader in attendance to the greatest show.

Should she even help? Could she even help? She rummaged around in her bag and produces a few things for such an occasion. A great harpoon gun, which she affixed to the top of the guild hall structure. She embeded it in the floor and anchored it down nicely, before aiming the harpoon gun towards the Wyvern and very carefully deciding whether or not she should even help in the first place. She considered firing the gun in an attempt to tether the great beast to the floating library, but, as she continued to look on she realized that Zayir didn't actually need any help, so she decided not to shoot and instead began making her way closer towards the two of them.

Zayir felt his heart racing as he clung to the back of the Wyvern, his fist flashing in the sunlight as he struck at the beast's scales. He had never ridden a creature like this before but he was determined to use the Wyvern's own strength to his advantage. With every strike, he could feel the creature weakening, its roars becoming more desperate as it tried to shake him off. But Zayir was not one to be easily thrown. He dug his feet into the Wyvern's sides, using his body weight to stay on. As the creature swooped towards the guild, Zayir saw his chance. With a fierce cry, he plunged his fist deep into the Wyvern's neck, causing the beast to let out one final, terrible roar before crashing down onto the guild below.

The impact was deafening, sending up a massive cloud of dust and debris. The other guild members could only stare in awe as Zayir emerged from the cloud, covered in dust and blood but victorious. He dragged the Wyvern toward the center of the guild, leaving a deep gouge in the ground as he did so. Panting and covered in sweat, Zayir made his way toward the center of the guild, dragging the dead Wyvern behind him. As he did, he spotted Ikanbi on the roof, her dark hair whipping around her face in the wind. With a cold glare, Zayir nodded at her. "I hope you enjoyed the show." he shouted.

Ikanbi
Zayir seemed to be doing pretty well in tangoing with the beast. The great wyvern took a plummet towards the guild hall and Ikanbi watched from a distance as Zayir dealt his final blow. The impact was indeed quite deafening, a thunderous crash as the wyvern toppled into the top of the floating guild hall. Ikanbi braced herself against the railing but otherwise remained stationary for a moment before making her way closer to get a better look. She rummaged around in her bag and withdrew a book, flipping through its pages until she found the dragon that most resembled what she saw before her in that moment.

She gazed at Zayir's body, it was hard not to. He was a huge hunk of a man and towered over her effortlessly. She turned her attention back towards the book and read up on the dragon just a little bit before letting out a small "hmph," and putting the book away into the pouch. Her eyes gazed upon Zayir's face for a moment, locking eyes with him for just a moment before they trailed down the rest of his body, then back up to his face. "I always do." She said rather calmly.

Next to the colossal figure, rested the lifeless body of the Wyvern he had just slain, awaiting its journey into one of the Collectives' laboratories. This monstrous creature loomed large, adorned in a coat of ebony scales as unyielding as obsidian. For some time now, the Desiertan Viking had been tracking the sudden emergence of these draconic beings. And this formidable beast happened to be the first catch for Zayir. Zay's eyes remained captivated by Ikanbi's presence, recognizing her as one of the more intriguing individuals he had encountered around the guild. Yet, his stoic expression veiled any hint of emotion.

A momentary silence enveloped the space between them as the brown princess materialized before the Stormbringer. She mused, a playful twinkle in her eye. Clearly, she appreciated what she saw. "Then I should probably give you a private one," in silence, his sun-lit eyes lingered onto her lips for a moment, then onto her breasts.  Zayir found himself equally intrigued despite their limited acquaintance. While Zayir knew little about Ikanbi, apart from her romantic involvement with his cousin, it was likely that Ikanbi held a deeper understanding of Zayir.

"Creatures like these have been making more appearances as of late. It's concerning," Zayir began, turning to face the dragon beside them. "They defy common characteristics of ordinary Wyverns. Can you tell me anything about em?" His tone was casual, yet there was an underlying curiosity that sparked his words.

Ikanbi
For a moment Ikanbi merely stared at the downed creature, watching as its life force slipped away, her mechanical eyes visibly watching the mana leave its body and spread out into the air, rejoining the rest of the mana stream as the dragon's soul merged with the planet. She hadn't experienced this yet, watching the very mana leave a dying thing, it was a little unsettling. Would she be forced to see that every time something died? She gazed at Zayir, and numbers flickered within her mind's eyes, and though she made good sense of them, she quickly understood that if Zayir wanted to, he could break her neck with one hand. Truly a colossal specimen of a...human?

Was Zayir human? She couldn't even tell anymore, she had encountered so many people now, it was hard to keep track. Still, he moved with a gracefulness that screamed non-human, but she couldn't quite put her finger on it. "Yes, perhaps you should." She said slyly, her eyes narrowing slightly as her lips curled upwards into a smile as she spoke. She brought her right arm up into the air, her prosthetic left arm dangling down by her side and holding her book, and a light whistle escaped from her lips.

A roar could be heard from above, followed shortly by the flaps of thunderous wing beats as Ikanbi's own Wyvern descended down towards the top of the great guild hall. It landed next to her, and sniffed at Zayir momentarily, before it became intrigued by the fallen wyvern and drew itself closer to inspect it. "I have to say, I'm a little more knowledgeable on this type of Wyvern, the hunter books I have don't even really say anything about that one." Ikanbi's wyvern turned its head and gave Zayir a nice strong lick on the side of the face. "I think she likes you." Ikanbi said with a small chuckle.

Zayir's response to Ikanbi's remark was a mere "Mm," concealing the intrigue that simmered within him. Now, with Ikanbi in close proximity, he could better analyze her. She existed in a peculiar space, embodying both the essence of a machine and the fragility of a human. Such hybrid beings had become more common in the wake of the Talaz phenomenon. However, the Stormbringer remained detached from the political strife. His allegiance found solace only in matters that directly concerned him and his family. His attention now fixated on the impending doom that loomed before them all.

Suddenly, a thunderous roar could be heard from the skies above, jolting the Elf into immediate alertness. Fearing the possibility of another winged enemy, he swiftly turned his gaze, unwilling to take any chances. To his surprise, this particular Wyvern seemed acquainted with the same Desiertan woman who stood before him. Still, Zayir's unease persisted. It wasn't until the draconic creature tenderly licked him that a sense of tranquility crept upon him. "All the more reason for us to be concerned," he sighed.

Raising his hand, he began to gently caress the vibrant scales of the lively wyvern. "This marks the fourth sighting in two days. There have been reports of missing people in the east, and I think these creatures may be linked to the disappearances." The elf's cold gaze fell onto Ikanbi's own. "I could use your brain to help me figure this shit out..." Though, in truth, Zayir couldn't help but think of the other ways to use Ikanbi's brain. "Come, we'll talk over dinner in the Dining hall." Without giving Ikanbi even a split second to think, the noble began to make his way towards the doors of the guild.

"And somebody take the creature to a lab or something!" he demanded the grunts in the area.

Ikanbi
The merchant turned machia thought to herself silently for a moment before asking aloud, "Where to the East? If its Dahlia I say we just let them get eaten by the dragons." She said with a cheeky grin. As the two of them began walking, she couldn't help but take in his scent as she found that he, like everything else, was very identifiable to her now by her machia senses, and he definitely smelled like a man. Maybe some food would be good to her after all, she supposed. Was it even required? She wondered how far she could push the boundaries of her body, how long she could now go without eating now that she was pumped by a machine.

The grunts did as they were told, the lowly lackeys, followers of The Collective. They were eager to work and just as eager to please, and hurriedly, excitedly ran out to begin taking the fresh dragon corpse to the lab to be studied by inquiring minds. Likely Ikanbi would be called in and asked for her expertise as a Hunter, though she already knew she wouldn't have much information to share. However, she thought it likely that if she digged harder through her books she was liable to find something helpful. The library was a great resource after all. "Yeah, some food would probably do you good after that exertion anyway." Ikanbi said finally as she walked behind Zayir towards the Dining Hall.

They came to a clearing of sorts and after winding their way around the floating structure they indeed found themselves in the Dining Hall, which had a nice spread of various foods along some of its nearest tables. A right and proper enchantment, she knew, to have food ready as needed and on demand, a crafty little spell it was. Ikanbi strolled to the table and examined the food options, but for now she settled on just a chalice of wine. "So...dissappearancecs in the east, strange Wyverns, what are your thoughts exactly?"
