Darkfang the Kobold Lord

As the final seal blocking access to the throne chamber came unsealed the large doorway opened. A grandiose red carpet unrolled along the stairs the three groups were situated at, but it wasn't the only red there was. A red liquid had dried on the carpet, and legions of armored corpses were scattered around the chamber. Seated upon his throne the massive kobold lord's gaze focused onto the group.

"And so you have finally come Champions of Earthland, here to feast upon the bounty of the Void like I did?" The kobold laughed deeply as he gripped a hand along the armrest of his throne and rose from his seat. "But this castle has only room for ONE CONQUEROR!"

As he rose the kobold lord rose to a massive height, standing at least somewhere over three to four meters tall. His hand slipped to the side of the throne's armchair as the group had just entered the room, his fingers wrapping around the heft of his massive bone axe when without nary a warning the kobold lord swung it?

Void Raid: Darkfang the Kobold Lord C90k7zlc-1

"Watch out!" A voice in the back of the crowd alerted them as the swing was accompanied by a literal torrent of wind, perhaps calling it a hurricane might had been better? The entire environment seemed to shift and quake underneath the sheer force of the massive power of the lord, pillars caved, walls crumbled and collapsed and as the dust of the chaos finally settled....

Void Raid: Darkfang the Kobold Lord IMG-8918

Arena Description: Once a massive throne room, only the scarred floor remains of what had once been a proud Caelish castle. Darkfang stands over three meters tall and carries a giant bone axe and a leather shield on the other arm. On his back, there seems to be some sort of weapon shrouded by bandages.

Objective: In order to defeat Darkfang the party will have to collaborate to work together to defeat Darkfang, having certain people focus on certain tasks that will arise. Meanwhile, at the back of the party Fei Yu will be actively using her magic to prevent the void from encroaching upon the group. Should she be defeated it will increase the difficulty of the fight immensely.

Battle logs will be expected for the fight.

Difficulty: Devastating

Location: Caelum - Kingdom of Albion

Enemies: Aside from Darkfang there will be a series of obstacles and mechanics that need to be cleared in order to succeed in finishing the fight.

Participants:
Knuckles Shi, Ittindi, Toga, Lumikki, Brone, Saturn, Astrid, Erebus, Fei Yu

Post Deadline: For now people can post in any order they prefer, afterwards everyone will get a 48 hours timer from the next round onwards. Fei Yu will post at times to help with mechanics and as a conditional ally to protect for the raid.

Dungeon Master: Ryuko & A certain frosty Valkyrie

Current Objective: Darkfang has unleashed a massive attack that requires the collective power of the raid to negate. Offensive attacks aimed at the air blast send the group's way, defensive spells and similar can be used to add to the collective power. Failure to complete the objective by the end of the next round will lead to the entire raid suffering damage.

#2Lumikki

Void Raid: Darkfang the Kobold Lord Empty Sat Sep 07, 2024 4:02 pm

Lumikki

Lumikki barely had a moment to scoff at the return of a certain brooding mercenary before someone quickly ushered and pushed the group further toward the entrance of the Boss' chamber. Whatever was the case from breaking the previous statues, a magical shift could be felt from within the castle's walls. Lumikki couldn't be sure of the details. She barely had a moment to inspect the previous spell before her two new wolf companions had run deeper down a branching hall. From there, she, her uncle, and Saturn had a run in with more kobolds. Causing them to fight a battle that resulted in not only their victory but their ticket inside the throne room. Lumikki whistled curt and short, snapping her fingers twice before laying a command. "I need ya two, to sit and stay!" Lumikki commanded in a voice that was not harsh but indeed quite stern. The wolf that had taken a liking to her quickly heeded her request, while the other, who tailed behind Brone, whimpered as he begrudgingly sat beside the other. The Demoness could not afford to lose the two amid the clash, and she would rather they stayed safely behind.

Of course, she did not predict what would happen next, but the show of power was indeed engaging, to say the least. The kobold lord, often referred to as Darkfang, sat atop his throne like an imposing force. His relaxed posture giving away his lack of fear from their sudden arrival. He was sure of his strength and, in turn, they would have to do the same. So Lumikki wasted little time summoning her Abyssal Spine at the ready, swiping her hand in the air to pull it from the in-between realm from which it always sat just at her side. She finally took a moment to get a good look at those around her. Surprised to see her beloved among many of the prominent Rune Knights, and an individual she saw in slight passing. Whatever worried she held for her group's might would vanish, as she didn't know of many mightier forces. Even the cloaked jester showed his hand, revealing adequate strength should he choose to focus. Ittindi showed disciplined precision, Toga the potential, and Knuckles held a rapturous might like a raging storm. Though, it would be the fact that she was standing behind the Sheild of Dawn that gave her the most comfort, as she knew he'd endure any fearsome attack if need be.

"Ye ready for it Uncle!?" Lumikki exclaimed just as the lord sat up with axe in hand. The imposing creature wasted no time to swing his might, and with it came a gale she wasn't sure everyone could handle. "Brace yerself lads!" Lumikki, with her staff in hand, jumped high into air with wings unfurling to allow the Demoness flight. In a graceless motion, she'd twirl twice. Both rotations flung the mana she had poured haphazardly into her weapon to manifest her magic rather quickly. Many circles would appear just in front of her before revealing their purpose.

One was three black talons forming in the air before cutting into the wind with a gale of their own. Its rotation and each over enhanced by the use of her most prized staff. The next spell was a blizzard to blow back the current's might.

Clutching hard onto her staff, black frost would creep up from her fingertips until it encase all of her skin in a protective casing. She'd use the shield to assure no needless harm came to her as she hung in the air.

#3Toga

Void Raid: Darkfang the Kobold Lord Empty Tue Sep 10, 2024 12:38 pm

Toga

Heavy footfalls echoed down the vast corridors of Caelish Castle, now under the control of the Earthland champions—a formidable group of mortals bold enough to challenge the abyssal forces of the Void. Their quest was fueled by a blend of impudence and ignorance, yet it was their sheer might that tipped the scales in their favor. Strength, after all, was the universal equalizer in battles where understanding faltered.

Tōga surged ahead with unbridled enthusiasm, his voice resonating through the ancient stone, "Oh, I’m fired up!" His skin bore the distinctive, scale-like armor of his dragon force, deep onyx and crimson hues gleaming under the flickering torchlight. His eyes, typically a warm brown, now glowed with a fierce, luminous yellow, signaling his readiness for the fray. He had wisely invoked his dragon force in advance, eschewing the need for activation amidst combat, a strategic move to harness its full potential from the outset. Flanking him were familiar allies, each a stalwart defender of their causes. Ittindi and Saturn, fellow Rune Knights, both as powerful – if not more – and fully capable of defending themselves and others. Alongside them marched Knuckles and Lumikki, the latter as dear to Tōga as kin, her icy prowess a chilling complement to the fiery anarchy he wielded. Notably absent was Alisa, whose formidable strength had often tipped the scales in their past endeavors. Her absence was a silent chasm in their ranks, felt but unspoken.

As the final barrier shattered with a resonant crack, the air itself seemed to thrum with anticipation. The towering figure of the paramount Kobold emerged from the shadows, its menacing form a dark blot against the crystalline glow of the castle's inner sanctum. But it was not alone; a legion of minions surged forward, driven by a gale-force wind that sought to sweep the intruders from the castle's heart.

"Whooa!"

With a deep inhalation, Tōga unleashed a torrent of black flames, a powerful counter to the approaching storm. His attack intertwined with Lumikki’s icy spells, weaving a blanket of fire and frost that surged forward to meet the wind. Together, their combined might clash against the elemental onslaught. As the forces collided, the air crackled with energy, and the outcome undecided for the other champions could surely contribute to their magical struggle. Still, if this were phase one of the battle, the dragon slayer mused brightly, understanding more was to come.

Saturn
With their victory over the rider kobolds it was now thankfully apparent that they did the right thing. With the shield powering down and them quickly making their way to the next local they were greeted with something saturn honestly wasn’t expecting. He was fairly used to being on the bigger side of things; so with the kobold leader being… well as massive as he was made saturn wonder what would have been the creatures size if they had been say a gnoll king or a lizardfolk king. Hard to tell really. Seeing that they had so many people here, ranging from hardened criminals to rune knights meant they had a vast pool of different kinds of experience to draw from. Which he was inherently thankful for.

"We can do this..."

Saturn gave the two knights distinct nods, not needing to tell them what to do. They knew their abilities well enough and they weren’t newbies. They’d have their own situations sorted out well enough; he’d let his armor form into it’s combative state. Armor plating sliding along his body as he glanced this way and that. He’d extend his hand out, summoning his spear to his side… His spear. Sleeping dragon. The general blinked as what he pulled from his personal pocket realm most certainly was not sleeping dragon. A look of apt confusion spread on his face and the voice that tingled in his head was much unlike the voice of the grumbly spirit.

That’s strange…

The giant muttered as the spear grew to the same proportions for him as it would be for others. Gritting his teeth a little bit, and thrusting it forward like he did with sleeping dragon, he hoped that it’d do the same as his old spear. When nothing happened the knight looked confused, a sort of ache in his hand and he’d lift it up to point at the oncoming attack. Much to his surprise the ache blossomed into being as a spiraling burst of light. He felt it sup on his mana something fierce, something he wasn't used to feeling from an item such as this.

Definitely going to have to practice with this later tch..

Saturn took a ready stance, hoping that everyone would be able to throw up something in time. If not this would be immensely frustrating as a start. Saturn’s ears flicked and he had a moment before feeling something brush past him. His companion, vestige of the outsider was here to assist him. Amidst it’s halo was a pair of seals. One outside and one within it. From four points of the cardinals of the circle lines of energy condensed together and met at the CenterPoint. Firing a 4 meter in diameter beam straight towards the oncoming squall. When it’d slam into it, the excess mana would flush out to either side, forming a massive cross.

It’d be quite some time before the Vestige would be able to do anything like that again. But it was a strong entry next to it’s friend. Saturn would spin his spear and look to the kobold leader, the vestige standing a little ahead of him as though wanting to protect saturn.

#5Erebus

Void Raid: Darkfang the Kobold Lord Empty Wed Sep 11, 2024 10:13 pm

Erebus

The last few days through this dwelling, after his journey through the ice mountain. Erebus was feeling the pressure early, he had used his wits to navigate the realm of the Void, where others may have powered through it, bringing him back to the same place as numerous others he had encountered there.

He wore his attire, which presented a robed individual, who's face one couldn't make out under the guise of the hood, a large carry bag was hung across his shoulder to his waist, crossing his torso- with a thin bedcot roll and frying skillet strapped to the back of a tiny kobold lagging behind the dark one. His pants were frayed and torn; atop those holes he had replaced for metals platings there, so as to protect from critical shots or knee skids. A second hood, which draped the other like a raincoat, was a mystical thread, translucent and erie, smoking and fogging his visage to that of a wraith...

Wrapped around his right arm, was his Chaos Claw whose metal was black and trimmed by red steel, and in his other palmed grasp, a liquid bow. Inky black, and seeming as though it lacked much of a solid form. A cursed object -- a useful tool in dealing with things Erebus didn't overpower with his strength outright. With the black fire colliding against a spell dealt across the arena map, Erebus lifted his bow arm over his face. The spell seemed to be sustained but Erebus, slid his wrist back as the bow manifested a spelle circle, all Erebus need do is release the quiver to send forth a spell, arrows that were pinched between in the tips of his fingers, he kept his eyes on Darkfang as he moved to a different location, navigating way from the collective group to catch a flank shot, if he were successful in going that route, he rounded the oval shaped arena on the right side, and shot one more arrow forward, just one arrow spell-- albeit it was the second one, meant to collide upon the foe from a blind spot. He attempted to catch and stick Darkfang on the opposite end of the map, from a different angle, that wasn't directly in front of the Kobold Lord but aimed at his legs, in the series of moments after, Erebus was ecliptic, and maneuvered with the demonstration of a silent assassin, a black shade that dashed and picked up the winds beneath his feet, which allowed him to somersault and push his weight around with strength that was perceived super-human or greater. Until he was primed at the right flank of the creature twenty-five meters gapping the distance between the giant and the rogue.

And should he need to avoid any damage and keep momentum, his abilities were not hampered there, as Erebus could disappear and avoid damage just like that of a ghostly apparition; appearing and transpiring in different, unique locations, at different times or all at once. His ideal battle parameter remained to be at close range, especially when in combination with his many weapons, all of them that managed different bonuses and attack mechanisms at their different lengths and various reach.

As buildings are torn up and crumble due to gale force, hurricane structured forces. Erebus finally opens himself up to speaking

"Greetings, salutations, you're pleasured I'm sure," Erebus mocked, in regards to this Void-being, an opposing force to the tranquility of his world, overrun by his own Darkness. "So this is the invader Kobby mentioned, that ate one of our dragons, who'd of thought such a thing was even possible. Suppose I will make light of my interests here, cleared of one thing, that information will spoil the records of our timeless adventures together-- good mages of Earthland. But if it's out there, it might as well go down in my books as well, what is learned, is shared." he finalized with a faint smug shrug of his shoulder, moving away from the group, a hidden warning in the tone of his breath.

Erebus was no newcomer to dealing with threats outside of the veil, having truly felt the difference in Void-entities as opposed to natural enemies in Earthland, pon his peruse of this dimension. Erebus despised this parable, and paradox, that was the Void, he had not enjoyed the counterpart to it, in that Abyss. Now there was a new force; an evil one, beyond the quiet rest of the darkness he was chasing, inching and tugging his control like a cosmic ravager, not that Erebus truly felt fond of any Abyss either, he was fighting and building to avoid it all together. But at least there was an Order to the chaos there, this place was more like foggy memories, beautiful places turned sick and I'll, forgotten and erased. Too Erebus, he was not up for erasure nor the legend his namesake sat upon, and standing for his world was something that he felt obliged to do. With or without the consideration of his world's heroes, rather-- alongside them, was where he had gotten too. Where there was a lack of information in the Void here, there was a potential to learn more there-- in those gates, and if realms could be taken whole, there was going to be someone, not something, to do it. Just why wouldn't he be here, when the potential for another to take that and use it against him were so clearly plausible...

"In one hand, we happen to outnumber Darkfang, wouldn't call myself an oddmaker, but our nine, to some Fiend seems too easy, so just what game is at play here.. I wonder what mysteries has he in wait for us." surmised the dark mage, more so to himself than the others. Having only noticed now, he was surrounded by mages who weren't fond of his crimes in recent times. Being that Erebus did as he was left too, his namesake was already drenched infamously, where most of them had garnered fame. He'd built a reputation of carrying himself as an dark dealer, hunter, and salesman, looting and selling his way to the top of riches that rivaled the petty nobility and law-makers who took advantage of his homelands-- littered and filled at it's brim with Vampires, Lycans, and Demons. All of which had left marks on society through his time as an adventurer.

In particular, he had already noted Lumikki, but Toga too. Another champion like himself who hadn't relinquished themselves to ascending, but rather, studied the gifts given for combat against other entities. He had grown a bit of respect for Toga in their short battle, Lumikki was a threat now out of his own reach which needed careful considerations to impeach from the Fioran North Lands. Erebus didn't need to note their powers anymore, as much some other faces he'd yet to face, ones he hadn't seen yet. Simple bouts with such prestigious figures warranted details Erebus could sell to the Underworld and profit on. But being that only he, and one other dark mage were here to aide in this defense, Erebus would reframe from such careful analysis and stick his focus to the monster ahead.

Astrid had demonstrated similar power to a Void ice Giant-- he assumed a place near her defenses would ultimately prove the most fruitful until later in the fight, when certain facts about this monster's strengths & style were more clear, but there was a few here, he found to be a peculiar type, and wondered what their ranks would prove in beneficial as well. Erebus released a sphere from his belt-- while running his own observations, pitching it forward so that Occula could be freed from their resting portmanteau, as he did this, a second window of sights magically appeared in front of his visor as an HD vector, connecting him to the tiny droid.

#6Brone Heavyaxe

Void Raid: Darkfang the Kobold Lord Empty Sat Sep 14, 2024 2:59 pm

Brone Heavyaxe

The footsteps from the heavyset dwarf echoed along the halls as they made their way through the dungeon. His niece, like a shadow to him, was silent and walked alongside him; both exuded confidence and power, they were beacons of hope and victory, such a visage the dwarf learned to carry for the sake of the people who looked up to them. The two wolves that joined them were ordered to stay put by the demoness as they entered the vicinity of the throne room.

The throne was massive, and so was the giant kobold that sat upon it. Entering the throne room, other challengers had arrived, familiar faces that brought a smile to Brone's ashen gray face. "By Dhurain's beard! We have the best of the knights with us!" he bellowed with laughter. Saturn had recently arrived, and the dwarf was fortunate enough to meet him beforehand, understanding that this wasn't the same Saturn that sought to destroy Earthland, but this world's Saturn was a hero. As for Toga, the dwarf recalled when they traded blows and was excited to see how strong the knight had become.

As Lumikki called to her uncle and took to the sky, Brone bellowed another laugh. "Aye, lass! My blood burns like the forge itself!" His excitement radiated as the golden veins along his face glowed, making them more noticeable as his adrenaline kicked up. He gripped his shield in his left hand and tightly held the golden spear in his right as he jumped in front of the group, just as several blasts of magic flew toward the kobold king, meeting the gale that sought to strike them.

"By the forge and stone! Let's show this oversized lizard what we're forged from!" Brone yelled as his body surged with magic. He roared loudly and planted his shield before him, preparing to defend against the gale blast if the magical onslaught didn't stop it.

#7Knuckles Shi

Void Raid: Darkfang the Kobold Lord Empty Sat Sep 21, 2024 7:25 pm

Knuckles Shi

After the group of Ittindi, Toga, and himself had vanquished the monster on the castle walls after they had been dropped onto the castle the group now found themselves in the throne room of said castle, along the way Knuckles found a shield that was a bit recognizable. It has the same style framework and craftsmanship as his earrings and necklace.  Indeed it was another artifact from the Sea Dragon King's treasurerry.  Scooping it up as they made haste, Knuckles dismissed Shattered Mjolinir in favor of the shield figuring he may need some defense to deal with whatever laid before them.

Though Knuckles had an ace up his sleeve, he had devoured part of the void creature they had slayed, he had felt it calling to him when he dealt the finishing blow. He had reached for it and consumed it. It had given him a boon of strength and restored his mana to full. Now that he had not felt the draw of the battle before Knuckles entered the throne room with his team.

Within the throne room, his beloved Lumikki, her Uncle Brone, Erebus, and another he did not know were there with the newly appointed leader of the Rune Knights, the man who had taken Kon's spot. Knuckles had battled Kon many times, and even arrested Knuckles months ago.  They were not alone though, before them stood a great warrior that Knuckles could feel the bloodlust coming off of.

Grinning under his Clown Clout Helm Knuckles wanted nothing more than to tell everyone here to get back and let him handle this alone. But, before he could lay such a claim the warrior they opposed sent out a magical galeforce wind at the group. While the mages cast spells to combat the attack Knuckles took up position next to Brone with his newly acquired shield lifting it next to the Dwarf's which was not hard due to the height difference.

"The Shield of Dawn and The Clout Chaser standing shoulder to shoulder, well Shoulder to Elbow before a titanic force! These are the days warriors like us dream of!"

Knuckles used his meaning strength to keep the shield in place against the wind attack so those behind might be able to do what he could not. While blocking with his shield Knuckles took a second to quickly scan the area around them. It seemed like Odin did not wish to bless him with a proper battleground to use the gifts of Thor given to him from both of his hammers.

This was fine, he was still a force to be reckoned with even without the aid of the magic from Thor's hammers. Knuckles was a Daemon, Lumikki's champion and most of all resourceful. He would not allow the limits the Void had pitted against him to stifle his combat presence. There were a few spots the Daemon had entered in the void that had allowed him to use his full capabilities, which had only forced the Daemon to fight on a different level in a style that was much more barbaric and devasting for his enemies.

Resting on his shoulder as he bared against the blast, was a Raven named Murder awaiting to see the tail of Knuckles Shi grow further. Battling another god-like creature. What were the limits of the ever-evolving Daemon he wondered. Would he ascend to the realms of Godhood and become a Demi-God? Joining the Norse Gods at the table, or would he follow the way of Lady Lumikki and evolve into a Demon? Perhaps a mix of both as the warrior seemed to hold the favor of the Gods and a Demoness.

#8Ittindi

Void Raid: Darkfang the Kobold Lord Empty Sat Sep 21, 2024 10:42 pm

Ittindi
The castle dungeon finally completed, Ittindi, Colonel Tōga and the Young Master would delve deeper still. Ittindi would be surprised by the elegant red carpet its denier seemed to be at minimum 2,200 given the heavier more resilient thread that they seemed to stomp on, he wondered if this was truly a castle lifted from another dimension like his magic or were they in a room of illusions?

”Hmm, I might come back for this carpet later."

They didn’t have time to discuss it, instead as they kept moving forward Ittindi would wonder what kind of trap they were walking face first into, his head was on a swivel hoping to see before his danger senses warned him. His cross rifle at the ready Ittindi would start to feel the build up to the rush of danger. The scattered armor corpses gave him pause; he wondered if he’d have to worry about reanimation. He’d have to keep his eyes out for anything that looked like a possible necromancer, thinking of Averie, Ittindi couldn’t think of any dead giveaways to identify one. Luckily for him he had worked with most of the warriors on the battlefield. There were some new faces as well, but with General Saturn here Ittindi wouldn’t have to worry about diplomacy.

He quickly would return any greeting while deciding that he needed to keep his range and protect their mage. It didn’t take an artifact scientist to tell you that Fei Yu was their proverbial mage, whatever her magic did its effects were visible on the void space around them. Ittindi would command his armor on as he moved to her location, his new form a warm welcome over his, three-piece black tuxedo with a white button up. He even had a faux M in memory of his monopoly suit. While his armor did cover his head the top hat remained ridiculously on his head clashing color wise with the purple but evoking a daring approach to fashion.

When he reached position he could see that the others were already taking up action against the hurricane of an attack that Darkfang had launched at them. Ittindi would try to clash with the wave with a shot, his left arm braced under the barrel. As mana leeched from Ittindi and hurled towards the wave from Darkfang. He had considered unleashing more, but he wanted to use his powers more conservatively with him being rear defense.

Ittindi would take the time to look around the destroyed room, noting the exits and entrances for possible enemy reinforcements. He was still cautious of all the armored corpses and had tried his best to avoid the dried liquid lest it flake and get on his shoes.  Naki openly taunted him about how they’d need to finally use their magic out in the open on a situation so serious.

#9Go D. Drakkon

Void Raid: Darkfang the Kobold Lord Empty Sat Sep 21, 2024 11:21 pm

Go D. Drakkon
Drakkon and Hai were together, they had entered the rift that was presented to them by Y’Shaari. It seemed like Ryuko didn’t trust her, but at the same time, it seemed like she had something on her. He wasn’t sure what it was, but he was interested to see where this was going to lead the two of them. He knew he could handle it, but he could only hope that his son would be able to. The trip through the rift though was bearable. It was nothing worse than he felt before like the time he had a hole in his chest or the time a sword wielder just beat him down.

Still, it was all in the past and everything he had done had allowed him to become stronger and who he was now. Drakkon had a seat within the underworld now, as the Oyabun of the Yakuza Clan in Joya. He was now also a Dragonborn appointed by Ryuko herself and was sent here to see what chaos could be brought here.

He remembered Y’Shaari’s words about there being others, but who would these others be? Well, he was going to find out soon enough right? When the time came the rift had made its way through the throne room. His exit, yet at the same time his entrance was revealed to him.

“I don’t know what we will be dealing with Hai, but if you want we can fuse now, or you can see what we’re up against first.” He said as he waited for an answer.

“We can see first father. We don’t know who is here, but will they be allies or enemies?” He said to him.

Drakkon heard him and took that into consideration. It was then he would step out of the rift with Hai Gone by his side. The two of them would enter this room, well it was a literal throne room actually. He felt things trembling as soon as his feet touched the ground, and he noticed that he had been next to a bunch of people in this place.

These must be the people that they spoke about who would be here. One has the familiar scent of a dragon, and the second one is noticeable by reputation alone. He hadn’t met him before, but he knew of him. A huge smirk appeared on his face, and it seemed like it would be interesting if those three were here.

“Toga, Lumi, and Brone here?! Along with the infamous Erebus! And you sir, who are you?! You smell familiar possibly like Toga and I?!” Drakkon spoke as if he had time for a conversation.

It was then he noticed another man next to Brone. He did not know this man, but he could smell her all over him. He grinned a huge grin indeed as this must have been the man that she was spending her days with. It seemed like even Brone was fine with him, and that was good. He knew as long as she was happy and safe it was all that mattered to him. Then there was the butler, wait a man in a tuxedo? Now that was interesting, but it seemed like he had the ability to fight from the gun and mana shot he unleashed.

The son of chaos caught the scent of one other person that he didn’t see right now. He didn’t have time to seek them out as he noticed that the huge shake from the entire room was an attack heading in their way. It would seem like a lot of these people had attacked, which was indeed the smart thing to do. Drakkon thought about it, but should he attack? Well, if Lumikki was here, he wouldn’t want any harm done to her, but she was strong enough to deal with her own safety.

“I mean she didn’t tell us to help them, but with Brone, and Lumi here, not helping would be like making an enemy of that thing. I guess we should act Hai.” He said as he placed the bandana on his head, and his left arm pulled Yamato from his sheath.

His right hand would hold onto the hilt of Enma, not being able to pull the blade from the sheath just yet. Hai figured fusing with his father would be better for him in this fight. Hai would let out a roar that would bring in a frequency for the two beings to become one. It was a quick thing as Drakkon would now gain the appearance of a being with two wings, a tail, and two horns on his head. His body was covered in dragon scales and his ordinary fingers became dragon claws.

This was enough to allow him to pull Enma out with ease as he looked at the attacks that were being sent to the attack of this huge monster in front of them.

“A simple dimensional slash would be sufficient for this and if it doesn’t then these people better be able to defend themselves.” He said this mostly to himself as he would swing Enma to activate his magic spell.

A magic circle appeared in front of him and a huge slash of arcane energy would make its way to Darkfang’s attack. Drakkon’s slash’s durability would be far stronger than anybody else’s here, but would it be enough to destroy it? Would it be able to head toward Darkfang as well?

Void Raid: Darkfang the Kobold Lord Empty Sun Sep 22, 2024 11:03 am

Fei Yu
It seemed the raid had prepared to deal with the incoming shockwave that Darkfang had unleashed. She could feel it, the tension in the air that made it clear this was a battle to the death, one where even former enemies would be forced to temporarily put aside their differences if they wanted to survive. Although she had to admit that a part of her felt encouraged. The sight of so many people working together to try to vanquish a common enemy. It reminded her of the tales of heroism that Nyancelot was so fond of reading.

And yet, even if the memory of her fallen companion briefly clouded her heart, she couldn't allow her focus and courage to falter. Her gaze trailed along the battlefield hoping to get an idea of how to assist the group in their battle. Unfortunately her strength was primarily found in the act of unraveling magic, the power known as Nullification. And yet to describe her as helpless in a situation as this would be incorrect. She brandished her golden staff, her gaze focused on Lumikki as she conjured the mighty frost talons that flew toward the incoming shockwave and lashed at it in the hope of battering down the incoming force.

"It might not be as strong as hers but..."

Raising her staff skywards the fairy pointed the tip of her staff toward the incoming shockwave and declared firmly: "Dancing Demon!" It must had been odd for Lumikki to see her spell being echo-ed, the frosty talons being conjured once more above the fairy as she gestured forwards with her staff, causing the talons to start spinning rapidly toward the incoming shockwave shortly after Lumikki's own had lashed out at the blast of energy.

Yet even then it was not enough to halt the approaching force of destruction. Toga's powerful Dragon Breath joined in on the power struggle, even Saturn who wielded the power of the legendary relic of Caelish mythology decided to, accidentally?, showcase its power by firing a beam of energy from the tip of the lance. yet it honestly gave the fairy an idea of her own. Pulling back her staff the lass thrust the staff forward again toward the incoming wave: "Blessed lance of Kings, please lend me your strength!" As if on cue a beam of energy started to surge forward, blasting onto the incoming shockwave. Yet it was in the moment that Ittindi and Erebus had fired their own attacks that a large ominous tear appeared in the room! "A void tear?" Yu muttered worriedly as she saw the man and his companion emerge from it, yet before the rift closed she could have sworn she had seen a glimpse of two figures in the rift, one which literally made her entire body shiver in discomfort.

It was a sensation that fortunately didn't last much longer than that for the stranger appeared to have come to help the group, even firing his own attack onto the shockwave! With both Brone and Knuckles using their shields in an effort to protect the group from the incoming blast it seemed that for a moment the wave was about to threaten to still overwhelm them. Could even the legendary dwarven shield, that was rumored to be impregnable still falter under the power of the void?

----

Yu has tried to aid the group by copying and Replicating Lumikki's and Saturn's attacks with the power of her Memory Book!

-700 Mana for Yu from doing so.

Darkfang the Kobold Lord

Furious, the Kobold Lord was well and truly furious to see the champions of Earthland daring to stand defiantly in front of him. Even if they had able to muster enough power to even out the shockwave of his swing, the kobold lord believed the denizen of Earthland should cower before him, grovel like insects in the dirt! His eyes narrowed as he lunged forward while Knuckles and Brone had their shields at the ready, although as the massive kobold came in with his shoulder-tackle before either had the chance to lower their posture, yet with the two of them being resistant to being knocked back the Kobold Lord instead flung his shield-arm toward Knuckles, attempting to toss him into the air with the sheer force of the Kobold Lord's giant body.

"You think you're unbreakable, dwarf? Let us put that to the test!"

The massive hand of the kobold lord came reeling in toward Brone, quite literally encasing him in its massive fingers and scooping him up in the air as he started to squeeze firmly! The sheer pressure of the attack was enough that even despite the fact his shield pressed against his body, the mighty dwarven champion would feel his gear starting to crack under the force. (Brone's gear takes half of its durability in damage)

Meanwhile a familiar sound to Lumikki and Saturn would resound through the air: a warhorn!

A group of armored kobolds had emerged from the distant corridors of the throne room, 3 from each side! They were clearly intending to rush down toward the rear of the group, as if they had already identified the source of what kept the voidal corruption at bay!

Meanwhile hidden behind some of the rocks of the collapsed throne chamber a pair of kobold archers had started to nock their arrows toward the airborne Knuckles! (S-rank damage if Knuckles has no way of recovering from his airborne punting state).

And yet it was clear that the group would need to coordinate their actions, rescue Brone from Darkfang's grip would require them to attack the boss, but if the armored kobold knights were not attended to then it would be a matter of time before they reached the rear guard!

Current Objective:
- Previous Objective was successfully cleared!

- Knuckles is send flying into the air by the shield smash of Darkfang (no damage taken since Knuckles was still guarding), Knuckles will be send roughly 15 meters into the air.

- Brone is kept in Darkfang's grip and requires the group to inflict enough damage this turn to break his hand, Brone can attack from inside the hand. Failure to do so will break Brone's gear next post.

- Armored Kobold Knights are approaching the rear! Failure to interact with the 6 kobolds in the next round will lead to them reaching the rear and attacking Yu next round!

#12Lumikki

Void Raid: Darkfang the Kobold Lord Empty Mon Sep 23, 2024 10:35 pm

Lumikki

The rotation Lumikki let loose went by in a quick blur. The Demoness was only focused on the winds and hardly more. It wasn’t until the heat of Tōga’s flames starting to lick her skin that she snapped back into the throne room, her focus now back to checking over the party and their state. All the while the black ice was still sliding along Lumikki’s skin, cooling her from the fire bellowing against the wind.

”Huh!? Drakkon, lad, what are ye doing here?” Lumikki uttered confused and dumbfounded when she heard his voice from down below. He called to her on his entry, with Hai just by his side but not for long. The two merged seconds before he also swung an attacked; but the jarring occurrences wouldn’t end there. “Dancing Demon!” A soft feminine voice uttered a spell no one else needed to convey, and then moments later, more talons would appear before whipping up new razor sharp gales. Lumikki would look down to eye a pale girl below, eyes aglow and fangs bared; but she wouldn’t have time to sort how the mage mimicked her. The beast before her, in all his fury, would punt her beloved and snatch her Uncle Brone.

Lumikki’s eyes followed Knuckles’ as a hand reached for him, but her focus was yoinked back to the Dawn member from the sound of his groan. ”Brone!!!” Lumikki screeched, Darkfang tightened his grip and it was beginning to crack the Dwarfs armor. He wouldn’t last long if he stayed in hand, but Lumikki could center her focus. A horn was rung, its piercing sound now pulled her gaze elsewhere, from which she could see more Kobolds entering from every entry. With their presence growing, this became even more delicate. Lumikki’s eyes combing through her party to note their intentions. Her gaze lingering to Erebus and his new position in the formation, Ittindi and his playmate in the rear, but more notable, the pale girl tucked just beside him. She never gave it much thought, but with Ittindi keeping close, Lumikk could finally notice the nature of the girls magic on the void. Just enough to realize just how complicated this battle really was.

The Demoness bite into her lip hard, she was simmering in frustration and now a bead of her blue blood ran down her chin. With a right grip of her staff, Lumikki channeled another wave of her mana. Her focus was the nearing wave and their leader, her spell just big enough to ensnare all who neared. Two magically circles flashed and lingered below for a moment before a sheer frost froze the air twice upon all those standing just above them. The small hoard slowed down graciously in their moments as black frost crept along their skin and embedded with the crevices of their armor. Darkfang’s grip, still tight, now had the capacity to loosen a bit as Lumikki hexed the strength of those in her magic, cursing them with weakness in her spiteful cold.

With the end of her second swing, her graceful movements like steps to a dance. The mage hovering in the air dropped her Abyssal Spine into its pocket in the in between, and from another, she’d pull out a harp instead. From there she’d play a harrowing melody, one that invoke a drain in moral and vigor for battle. Disrupting the capacities on the fools below that sought to attack them, all the while spreading her Abyssal darkness along its gilded finish and blooming dark frostflowers and wings of ice.

Lumikki didn’t stop plucking the strings her harp, even as her feet touched ground and she stood by the pale girl in the rear. ”Who are ye lass?….it feels like ye know more about this place than all of us…. But as the words slipped form her lips, the archers in the distance cane to her attention and Lumikki quickly played a little spell to meet them. Her melody was short, as was the craft of her formless arrow. With a head of a Dragon and tail of vines, the blacken arrow rotated so fast to the archer on the left that it appeared like a drill of darkness shooting from the sky. Should the Kobold commit to his shot, he would find Lumikki’s arrow demanding a price.

Toga

In the pregnant silence that swelled just before the clash of steel and spell, Tōga found himself surrounded by the familiar discord of war—a work of friends and foes that pierced the quiet with the sharpness of drawn blades and the whispered promises of impending combat. “Sir Brone-sama!? Drakkon-san!?” His voice carried across the battlefield, tracing the lines of alliances past and present. “General Saturn-dono! Knuckles-san!? Ittindi-butler-san!?” Each name dropped like a stone in still water, rippling through the air and cape the tapestry of friendship and fate that bound them all.

As if summoned by fate or the sheer force of their collective will, Earthland’s bravest had converged upon the castle to purge the Kobold infestation and confront their fearsome leader, Darkfang. It was a gathering that could only be described as legendary, each participant a hero – or villain -- in their own right, drawn together by the threads of destiny to forge a story of victory and valor.

The air thrummed with magic, a frenetic dance of elemental fury that lashed out in all directions. Spells, born from the raw essence of mana, clashed against Darkfang’s formidable powers, painting the ancient crystals and tone of the interior chamber with the vibrant hues of magic. The coalition of mages and warriors managed a valiant defense against Darkfang’s gale-force assault, their combined strength holding the line against the overwhelming force.

But peace was a fleeting guest amidst the tumult of war. With terrifying agility, Darkfang closed the distance between them, his massive form a blur of motion as he targeted Brone and Knuckles. The scene unfolded with brutal clarity: the daemon was hurled skyward, while the stalwart dwarf was snatched from the earth, ensnared in the Kobold King’s merciless grip.

Instinct took hold, propelling Tōga into the fray. His heart pounded in his ears, a drumbeat urging him forward as he sprinted towards the peril unfolding before him. Both Zangetsu and Rengoku’s Kimetsu were clutched tightly in his hands, extensions of his will and his resolve. “Brone-samaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!” With a warrior’s cry, he leaped, aiming a dual strike at Darkfang’s wrists. The blades sang through the air, targeting the junction of armor and flesh with precision honed through countless battles.

His goal was clear: sever the bonds that held Brone captive, slice through the vice grip of Darkfang’s grasp, and free his comrade from the jaws of defeat. As the minions surfaced from their southern verge, the dragon slayer couldn’t do anything but rely on his allies. He had his opponent in front, and they had theirs. Everyone had to play some part.

Saturn
Void Raid: Darkfang the Kobold Lord BmjR7Dj

The swarm of people that were here made it easy to focus on the attack that darkfang presented. It was something that he was glad about; otherwise he had a feeling that attack would have hurt quite a few people quite badly. There was a number of people he didn’t immediately recognize and a number of them he didn’t have any sort of notion of how strong they were. Making him mildly worried. But one after another proved his worries to be unfounded.

Saturn’s grin seemed to split his face a little bit more as the fight progressed, everyone throwing something towards the oncoming attack or taking a defensive action to help weather the storm. Each and every person had something to say, from the ones he didn’t know to the ones he did. There was too much that he could respond to but not enough breath in his chest to address everything. Saturn felt a chuckle run out from his throat at ittindi’s mention of the carpet.

If it’s not scorched by the end of this…

Saturn shot a knowing look to toga at the joke and gave a nod to drakkon; addressing that question this quickly was easy. Thankfully he already knew toga to be a dragonslayer; so if drakkon assumed the same thing that meant that he was one too. So..

Dragonslayer of some kind? Then yes.

Saturn was very sure that he wasn’t referring to the fact saturn was a demon of all things; adjusting his hold on rhongo saturn eyed the massive kobolod wondering what it’s next step would be. Yu on the other hand would end up using two spells that shocked saturn; blinking owlishly he’d glance at the mage. He wasn’t aware that they were capable of doing something like that? Maybe he should have a talk with her later…

Saturn’s stance adjusted and he was readying to fight darkfang; but with them focusing so much on knuckles and brone saturn found himself inwardly frustrated as that familiar warhorn sounded. With the amount of friendlies and foes that were here it was quickly devolving into a mess. He felt the rumbling deep within and the slight ache above his eyes… and then below it. He could feel that tug, that want. Toga addressed him and there was a dark rumble that saturn felt spread across his breast.

Focus up Toga. Worry about honorifics later.

Saturn growled as he felt his form ache, he hated doing this sort of thing. But there was a certain natural feeling to what was about to happen. His form shimmered, shook and grew. One set of eyes above, one set of eyes below and the normally golden hues that remained in the center opened to a blistering bleeding red. His fur quickly receded and in their place all across his body was scales of varying colors, black in some places, red in others. From his head and the end of a long draconian like tail billowed out star like galaxy spanning hair. Horns split his skull and last but not least did a hole split open his chest, revealing a dark hole of infinity somehow restrained inside of the demon. His height well over doubled and his equipment seemed to match the sudden transformation. Growling in irritation the demon drew both hands back and then took a swing like a baseball player at the kobolds on his side of the ring. Looking to send them all flying with one lighting swing with rhongo. His voice was thunderous.

Whatever the threat is, we’ll respond in kind. Burn them, freeze them, do what you must.

The vestige of the outsider looked a bit shocked, eyes widening and the halo on it’’s head shimmered in and out for a moment as it tried to figure out just when saturn found he could do this. Shooting a wary glance at the rest of the party. It wasn’t about to get close to that.

#15Erebus

Void Raid: Darkfang the Kobold Lord Empty Sat Sep 28, 2024 11:42 am

Erebus

Zipping around the air like an insect, Erebus' companion, the drone-like Occula flew around Darkfang's heaved arm, having only for a split moment shown to Erebus, the appearance of a green-haired Dragon Slayer-- there seems to be more and more of those types these days, just like Toga, and Rhea for example.

Ignoring that fact for the moment, Erebus watched the beast tunnel forward, as it slid one giant forearm at a few of the stationary mages where the entrance to this place was prior, before Darkfang apparently placed them in some kind of personal domain or boss floor.

The strength of his attack against the ground was enormous, moving like a tsunami wave, with it-- the beast wiped rocks and debris from fallen building upward in one fell swoop, along with two mages in particular hoping to clash headfirst with it. Brone and Knuckles-- but if he recalled, they were pretty difficult ones' to knock over, more than any regular mage he'd met, suppose adventurers came with their own bag of treats, so to speak. However, Erebus did grit his teeth, upon realizing that the attack wasn't a smack at all, it was a grab and he intended to squeeze Brone. Erebus wasn't exactly fond of anyone else, but he'd sure hate for that same treatment by Darkfang to befall himself, guess he got lucky this time.

Erebus didn't waste any extra steps to ponder ir, he bounced backwards on his hide legs extending another five meters from himself and Darkfang, Lumikki inspired Fei Yu, and more ice and sleet crashed and skidded across the ring towards his side than he had assumed would-- after a successful blitz seemed to combo-stop Darkfang, the spells failed to fully drench him in crystals or snow, but they certainly succeeded in making the air glint and sparkle; the attack was closest to Erebus at his distance and location. As it turned out, Erebus was probably in the luckiest situation-- merely hidden within an obvious blindspot, he hadn't been identified by the enemy just yet. Minus the fact there were some Kobolds catching wind of him, in the counting moments.

Pulling back with his inky draw of an invisible quiver, Erebus strung together a few minor spells, hitting various Kobolds, the Kobolds would instantly stick to their positions, unable to truly escaoe but without the loss of their apparent lives either. This was for a very clear reason, which would be interesting later. Before he primed another powerful one, right back at Darkfang, Erebus would simply unload everything he possibly could, then-- at the end of his consecutive blast volley. He'd go recollecting what he'd lost.

Erebus wasn't concerned with his fatigue when dealing with great numbers, he could simply swap his items, and opt for a mana collection spree, piking these fool's on his pitchfork, hence why he need only bind them to the ground, that seemed like a semi-decent plan, and since he could see all the mana and statistics on the board, Erebus had a pretty good idea of when to channel this moveset. Aside from that little strategy, he could also round up enough Kobolds, and bend them to his submission, sending them right back after Darkfang, or even other regular kobolds

At least until the rogue could figure out what exactly he was suppose to do here, to put this monster down for good, his attention remained on observation and analyzing clear patterns and objectives laid before himself and others.

Occula spun in a circle while airborne-- a genuine reconnsonance camera, as it flew and hovered the area, allowing Erebus to pick up the voices and even witness Saturn undergo a nasty transformation. "Hm, just what is this thing..." Erebus said, user the UI to zoom into the black hole embedded in Saturn's chest, it then zoomed into Rhongomniad in his hand, and lastly, it quickly zoomed back out, simply assuming two screens as it has before, within his sight of the Apex helmet.

#16Brone Heavyaxe

Void Raid: Darkfang the Kobold Lord Empty Sat Sep 28, 2024 7:49 pm

Brone Heavyaxe

The allies all about were familiar with one another in one way or another, such a alliance was brought together by fate as far as Brone could tell, this indeed was a boost to moral and fueled the battle drive within him. They all gathered together to face the Kobold King, such a scene needed to be painted and told in story and the dwarf intended to survive to make this so.

The gale force conjured by Darkfang's mighty swing of his axe had collided with the joined magical attacks, causing the visual that distorts the air around it to diminish with each spell that collides with it and as the remaining of the kobold attack met the shields of Brone and Knuckles, it felt no more than a gust against them. "Aye, Knuckles Shi!" Brone bellowed over the rushing air that bypassed them, speaking his friend's name in full with pride and respect, "They shall know our might this day and all, friend and foe, shall speak our tale with pride or fear!" As the Kobold King's attack had fully diminished, Brone tapped his shield against Knuckle's shield; he looked to the mighty warrior, baring a wide smile. He observed for a moment the blue-gold shield, such a wonderful make, but before he could give a compliment, Darkfang darted towards them with great speed, pulling the dwarf's attention.

With a great, quick swing, the giant kobold had sent Knuckles flying, "Knuck-!" Brone's shout was cut short as a giant hand closed about him. From the clenched fist, just Brone's head was barely visible. He felt his shield press against body as his spear was positioned downward, the handle was pressing against his side, luckily the blade didn't cut into his own arm or leg. As the kobold king taunted him, Brone worked to slowly turn the spear to position it for an attack from within the fingers. Then Darkfang squeezed, though the dwarf was sturdy and his armor was protecting his chest where the pressure was centered at, the sound of several cracks were muffled within the giant fingers, the dwarf felt the armor of ice crack and give slightly.

"Yer blunder is underestimatin' our shields!" Brone yelled at Darkfang's face with a laugh, his determination not wavering, but glad that he and Knuckles were targeted first; then suddenly, Toga rushed in with a roar like a dragon, lashing out with the two blades the dwarf was familiar with, "And our swords! Brone bellowed, activating his armor's innate magical spell Kaldbak's Fierce Winter and causing the nevermelting ice of the armor to produce and spread a layer of ice all throughout the dwarf's body, coating him. He then found just enough space between the kobold's fingers to be able to move his arm enough to quickly juts his spear upwards to let the spear-end dig into the kobold's hand.

#17Knuckles Shi

Void Raid: Darkfang the Kobold Lord Empty Sun Sep 29, 2024 10:54 am

Knuckles Shi

His shield had never lowered as the hurricane gale force winds had met him and Brone's Shield wall. Though as the large towering Kobald king of terror came to meet the two, Knuckles' shield would be met with a backhand motion meant to Knock Knuckles into the air. However, Knuckles would NOT be sent into the air as he had learned long ago how to prevent himself from being knocked backward in any motion that forced him into a retreat. Knuckles was a head forward fighter and never diverted from his onslaught of attacks.

This would be no different, as the Daemon bent his knees and leaned into the strike pressing his weight and strength that had proven too much for even a god to overwhelm.  He wore the blessings of his Gods within his Clown Clout armor and honed the skills and worthiness of wielding two Hammers Forged for the Gods. The power of Thor, God of Thunder was his to command, even if he was afflicted with demonic powers gifted to him from an Elder Demon Beelzebub, who had been replaced by his new Demoness to whom he was bound, Lumikki.

With his Demonic power and grip over the power of God Knuckles, he had a physical strength that was only rivaled by one, no, two men one of which had been taken hold in a crippling grip, the other Yuurei.  Knuckles would not stand idle as the finger laced around the body of Brone Heavyaxe.  The Daemon roared with a demonic rhythm that echoed throughout the throne room, mixing with the sounds of combat and blending into what was often called the fog of war.

The warrior pushed from his crouched position lifting him into the air where his shield would vanish and his second hammer replaced it. Knuckles came down with his hammered blows aimed at the wrist of the titanic beast, who had now paled in against the structure of Saturn. There was something into this person Knuckles would have to look into after this battle was over.

With a practiced motion, Knuckles' hammers came flying down together in an axe handle motion as they attempted to shatter bone, matching pace with Young Toga's sword cuts. He had to push the sounds of battle around him away from his mine, while his Shinigami Eye took the weakness of the monster they faced and laid them out for Knuckles to destroy.

There was not a thing that he called his own that was his, every gift or weapon he had outside the shield had some ties to Demon or God-like beings. He understood he was a true whore for power and as much as he had led his guild into amassing their strength he knew all his power was borrowed and came at a price, either his soul, his life, or the practicing of faith and worshiping those he could likely destroy with the combine powers he weld.

For now, this was fine it would do. It was the price he had accepted long ago to pay to achieve his Dream of becoming a Legendary Warrior, not a hero but a man of war whose name would echo one for generations to come.  Now more than ever he had felt a two-sided tug at his destiny. Would he fall and become reborn a demon, or would he lift to the world beyond and become a Champion of the God cleansed of his demonic powers? The fight was ever-growing, but something had thrown this balance for his fate.

Knuckles could feel it in the pit of his core, yes there was something else tugging at him. Another offer of power, another chance to become what he wished if only he would open himself up to it.  It was not his focus in this battle he would deal with it later, but in the back of his mind hidden behind the thrills and joys of this battle, it waited while crawling forward.

Knuckles took a measured breath correcting his breathing as he waited for the outcome of the combined efforts to free his soon-to-be Uncle-in-law. He would not allow the man to be held in such a distasteful manner for long.

#18Ittindi

Void Raid: Darkfang the Kobold Lord Empty Mon Sep 30, 2024 7:01 pm

Ittindi
Apperance:
Ittindi had half expected to be hit by Darkfang’s attack, but as the clash cleared through the air it seemed they were victorious. Well at least in that first attack, he’d see it attempt to fling the Young Master in the air and close its grip around Sir Brone. Ittindi was preparing to unleash a barrage to help, when a sound would reverberate through the air. Shortly after Ittindi would see 6 Kobolds appear, and they were heading straight for Fei Yu. It seemed he had made a wise choice not rushing into battle, that was what his Young Master and Colonel Tōga were for. While there was another figure that he didn’t recognize also seeking to help stop the kobolds their arrows flying towards the 2 of the group. Their reignited battle to free Sir Brone would cause sparks of both lighting and flame in his peripheral. Luckily for him, his mentor created an opening for his gun’s explosive, after her slowing effect he’d shoot his rocket bullet. Trying to aim for whichever Kobold would capture most of the group in its 4 x 4 diameter explosion of magical fire.  While he was starting to prepare another shot he’d see General Saturn before he heard him.

Hearing General Saturn’s words Ittindi’s worse fears were manifest. They had spoken before about the seriousness of some situations; it meant that the General didn’t have full confidence in their victory. Which meant it was time for Ittindi to step up and help those chances, even if they were a demon.

So subservient Ittindi, don’t forget what you learned.  At least you won’t be able to hide me from your friends any longer.

Putting his cross on his back, Ittindi would focus inward. There were no seals for what came next, instead he would focus more mana through his body pushing every muscle, organ, bone to its limit. When it peaked is when he’d start to grow, stopping at a grand 8 feet 9 inches. Lady Lumikki had made her way to Ittindi and was attempting to talk to the channeler Fei Yu. Ittindi summoned his Naginata its full length at 12 feet, its length now more accurate to its original owner.  It seemed that the General and Ittindi had more in common than had initially noticed, for instance neither were polearm masters. Ittindi’s swing looked eerily similar to General Saturn’s, a wide sweeping arc in case any of the Kobolds lived through his explosion. There would be no time for conversation, he’d leave that to his mentor. His singular focus on any kobolds or other reinforcements. His danger sense running at an all time high, but so far none coming directly for him instead their bloodlust and stares were directed at Fei Yu.

He'd take an aggressive stance, ready to swing his weapon in any direction, not to mention with his new armor or should he call it a companion? Either way with it, Ittindi would be capable of summoning his Kusarigama’s with no spell circles. If any of the bound kobolds the archer had bound were still alive, he’d have those spells as his insurance.  A quick flash of a memory, an avatar defending a singular bridge against an army. Comparatively 6 kobolds were nothing, it also reminded Ittindi there was one conversation he needed to have. His voice boomed, Ittindi not used to his larger vocal cords.

If I fall, put a defensive spell around me and the enemies surrounding me.”

His words directed at Lady Lumikki, Ittindi hadn’t shown anyone that part of his deaths yet. The few times he had done it, well he hadn’t left anyone to speak of it. He had full trust his mentor could create something to hold his explosion.

#19Go D. Drakkon

Void Raid: Darkfang the Kobold Lord Empty Mon Sep 30, 2024 8:56 pm

Go D. Drakkon
“Well, I do what I always do, teleport my way into things. In all seriousness I was brought here by some weird-looking elf woman.” He said to Lumikki answering the question without a problem.

He heard Toga call out to him and he smiled at him, waving his arm with his katana to Toga happy to see he was doing all right. Saturn had answered him, he was a Dragon Slayer, but of what he didn’t know.

“I see, same here.” He quickly responded to Saturn’s words.

It seemed like the combined effort between the group who attacked had worked against that huge wind attack. That was good, which meant that the people here were capable of taking care of themselves. Well, two of them do nothing, but he knew of them being strong, however.

Still, what he saw next was exciting. It was pure chaos, he had smacked Knuckles, but it didn’t push the man anywhere. It was credited to what seemed like his fighting experience, then he saw Brone being picked up from the ground and being crushed by the Kobold creature. That was interesting, and he tilted his head as he could see that Brone needed help. Wait a minute it was Brone he was talking about. That Brute didn’t need his help right? He could have easily gotten out of that situation, right?

Drakkon knew Brone to be someone of might and power to stand next to Yuurei. His nose twitched to the extra additions to the party. It seemed like there were eight new Kobolds around the facility. It was impressive how they appeared out of nowhere. Still, he had been concerned by Brone due to Lumikki’s voice sounding concern for Brone.

He shook his head grabbing it, upset about what went through it. It seemed like Toga had gone to try and save Brone, which was a good thing. He knew that man was strong ever since they met. It seemed like Saturn’s form changed and it was an interesting take to that matter. It was then he saw axes flying around and were heading to harm the Kobold’s arm. It seemed like everyone was doing their best to free Brone from the restraint the Kobold had on him.

He figured he would help out as well, but there was another danger at hand. There were Kobolds smaller than this one moving toward a specific person. He had rushed toward where Lumikki was, but at the same time he rushed through the field he swung his arm away activating a spell of his. A grey magic circle appeared next to him a single Dragon had come out from it and had rushed straight toward the wrist of Darkfang. He avoided Toga, and Knuckle’s hammers as he was hoping this would help them on their attempt.

While doing that he had put his Enma away for the time being. He deemed Yamato worthy of utility and would be able to help him move out of the way if he had to. It was then he started to harness the fiery essence within him and he had gathered a fire into an orb that was pulsating. It was then the orb started growing in size, and when finally reached its peak, he launched it toward the three Kobolds that had been marching toward Lumikki, the random girl, and a man in a suit. He did noticed that there had been arrows shot in the direction of two of the kobolds, and those were the ones he was aiming for as well. He aimed it in a way so that it wouldn't hit anybody that was stationary. He had also taken out his Enma out of his sheath again.

When the orb reached its destination, it would explode and spread into a colossal dome of hellfire. He could see how bright it was, and he could only smile with excitement this was beautiful and if anybody was caught in it then that was on them, but he made sure the ball wouldn’t reach the area where Lumikki, Fei, and Ittindi were located.

Void Raid: Darkfang the Kobold Lord Empty Tue Oct 08, 2024 12:37 pm

Ryuko

With Lumikki moving closer to the small fairy, the question made her reply by providing a brief nod. "I have been studying the nature of the void and the side-effects its powers have upon people." Yet there was little time for any further explanation as Darkfang soon unleashed his wrath upon Brone! Despite the fact he had been squeezing the armored warrior to the point his armor started to crack under the sheer pressure of the assault, the pain clearly didn't distract the dwarven champion from his task!

Although Brone was attempting to shield himself from the force of the attack through the activation of a barrier spell, it seemed the barrier snapped like a twig under the force of the kobold lord, but fortunately it seemed he was not fighting on his own!

With Toga leaping into the fray the two attacks cleanly hit the hand of Darkfang, and with Knuckles his focused assault on the lord's wrist, he finally released his grip on Brone.

However, it was in that moment something seemed to happen, something disturbing. The kobold lord's gaze turned toward Knuckles as he seemingly felt something. Was it anger? Excitement? It was hard to tell, at least it seemed the kobold lord was fixated on Knuckles now.

And yet... he never attacked? "Greed... you share my greed champion, so you know that greed empowers, and that power shall conquer all!"

Yet as Darkfang yelled these words something seemed to be stirring in the room. A sudden tremor, one which accompanied itself by a large pillar glowing at the back of the room!

The fairy clearly seemed distraught, her face turning pale and her hands shaking lightly around her staff. "The voidal corruption... it's intensifying!"

Meanwhile as Darkfang felt the arrow of Erebus dig into his shoulder, the kobold lord turned toward his direction, and with a single sweep of his giant weapon send a shockwave of debris into the man's direction! (1 S-rank damage for everyone who is to the side of Darkfang and is unable to dodge the incoming wave (it's roughly 10 feet high and covers the entire side of the area in width).

In the meanwhile the approaching armored kobolds were skillfully dealt with, whether it was through the act of binding, debuffing or turn into an oversized gigantic fluffball that swept an ancient Caelish relic with such a speed it almost looked like a hoola hoop had swung around him, there had been no kobolds left to deal with near the raid, however several more had been sighted approaching the glowing tower at the back of the arena! At least two casters, a few armored kobold knights and a massive kobold berserker had approached.

And yet there was clearly still a surprise in the waiting...

----

The following part of the post only applies to Knuckles and will unfold nearly instantaneously:

The void-tainted core Knuckles had consumed earlier seemed to start surging with power as something invaded the warrior's mind. For a moment it felt like his consciousness was no longer in the throne room, but instead a abyss of infinite space, and a darkness that consumed everything around him.

It was within this void that a masculine voice called out to him. "How curious... To think there would be two attempts to usurp our power..."

The presence laughed deeply. "Yet while one tried to outwit me, I will not entertain another mortal to usurp the powers of the void. So instead I'll parlay: Show me that you hold the power to sunder the champions of Earthland and I will bestow onto thee true strength: I will make you a true Champion of the void, but first... how about sowing a bit of chaos among us? After all, evening the playing field for that foolish kobold might be more entertaining."

A brief pause followed as a brief shadow twisted in the darkness, as if a serpentine creature had coiled in the shadows surrounding Knuckles.

"The scent of Veles lingers... Perhaps... It is time to see whose champion is more powerful."

As the voice faded and Knuckles found himself back among the participants of the arena the void-tainted core in his being started to flare up. (S-rank buff to physical stats) and an overwhelming desire to prove his superiority as a warrior came to the forefront of his thoughts, and among them were two who fit the bill of being a potential prey for the warrior... Brone and Drakkon!

----

- Darkfang has released Brone
- Darkfang has made a swiping slash toward the side Erebus is at, everyone who doesn't defend or has a means to dodge up to 10 meters upwards will take 1 S-rank damage

- A tower started to glow at the back of the arena and Yu has remarked the voidal corruption has grown intense! There is a group of kobolds guarding the tower.

- Darkfang is currently contemplating who to attack next.

- Previous swarm of kobolds has been defeated

Lumikki

Lumikki of Iceberg

"Eerie befalls the one to hear a raven’s song"

It didn’t seem that Lumikki was the only one with a desire to cleave the beasts hand, and they had her thanks for lending her their power. But with another glance around the field, and it was becoming more clear to her that they were all give their all. Drakkon and Tōga were of the first to become ghastly the moment the let the dragon within  pour out with scales and fangs. Saturn, usually the steward of peace, had now ruptured into a gigantic being with scales alike and shining crimson eyes that sat upon his face in a set of three. His horns broke in two, and now within his core sat what to her appeared like a dark star. Condensed in a dark energy that made her crave a bite.

If that was not enough, as soon as Lumikki loosed her arrow, Ittindi finally unleashed his own power. A hidden magic she assumed wouldn’t be seen for a long, long time. Hits stature grew and took on a gruesome appearance, and as proud of him as she was for it, her resolve settled in. ”Well, if we are all inclined to free our monstrous forms, let me not be so coy.”

All the darkness that was settled around her began to quiver, its movements so disorientating that would feel like a trick on the eyes or the waves that bend the air on hot day. The shadows, now twisting and bending, unraveled into tendrils that pulled toward her. Warping indefinitely as it coiled and clung to her cool brown skin, quickly swallowing her whole. Submerged in the dark, Lumikki’s vestige twitched erratically. As if wanting to be unbound and tear free from the shadow’s embrace. All the while her fuchsia and violet eyes were blazing bright, and her gaze piercing into the enemy they faced. The four wings she tucked in before reemerged in all their spender. The feathers almost sleeker, and the tips razor sharp. And talons replaced her hands and feet just before she kicked off the ground. The jerking and rippling of shadows finally halted only to peel the dusk from her plumage and reveal the harpy underneath.

With the harp still firmly in her hands Lumikki faced toward the emerging new hoard that pooled around the odd crystals base. She didn’t quite catch Fu’s comment on the deepening void, only the enemies stumbling toward them catching her eyes. And just as quick as she pluck the strings of her harp, did magical circles form. All of which honing a swirling ball of black frost that shifted and hardened into many weapons of old. Blades, spears, and even axes of ancients shimmered around her. If one were to notice, all those below could find their weapons up there, added to her eternal growing arsenal and treasury to use in her favor. The likeness uncanny and exact, save for their obsidian sheen to discern them. Soon they were sent flying, shooting through the air to hit their mark. The sound of them soaring zoomed fast before dying out.

After she sunk her talon in them, her attention turned back onto Darkfang himself. The creature of her ire, and one who recently released her Uncle. ”Ye have me thanks…” Lumikki hissed her appreciation, the animosity in her was too strong to allow the sincerity shine through. With her talon pointed, she’d aim for him and him alone. A circle flickered before her curved nail, proceeding the crackle of pure frost dark the surged and crackled toward the Kobold beast. Despite its lack of electricity, it branched much like lightning would with cracking sounds filling the air. She had aimed for his head inflict the most damage with her attack.

In the heat of her attack, Lumikki could not predict or perceive the internal storm brewing within her beloved. Nor be aware of his crazed gaze seeking its new target.

Toga

Tch! I can’t help it, Sir Saturn-san-sama!” the dragon slayer huffed after hearing his commanding officer attempt to detach him from his rich traditions.

As Tōga charged into the fray within the castle's echoing chamber, the air vibrated with the raw surge of mana that each warrior unleashed. The northern vanguard was his domain, and he was wholly immersed in the moment, oblivious to the transformative power unfurling behind him. The scent of change was palpable—Lumikki and others had tapped into the deepest wells of their mana, morphing into formidable beings of sheer force. "Hmm, looks like the monsters aren't just on the other side," Tōga thought, his grin slicing through the din of battle.

His blades, Zangetsu and Rengoku's Kimetsu, tore through the flesh of Darkfang, the colossal Kobold, drawing blood meant to weaken the beast’s iron grip on Brone. As Tōga's attack made its mark, he noted Brone’s own countermeasures—ice spreading rapidly from his shield, encasing him protectively. Although Tōga’s initial strike wasn’t enough to subdue Darkfang alone, the collective onslaught on the arm by his allies did the trick. The beast's hold wavered, and Brone found his moment to break free.

"Brone-sama! You're free now!" Tōga called out, his voice booming with triumph as he landed. His gaze quickly swept over the battlefield, noting Drakkon wielding a spell of his own devising and Knuckles lending his formidable strength to their cause.

Despite the turmoil, Tōga remained untouched by Darkfang’s latest rage-fueled assault, which had been directed elsewhere. His focus shifted abruptly as a towering obelisk erupted from the ground at the Kobold’s southern flank—a new threat, or perhaps a new target.

"Gotcha!" he shouted, adrenaline sharpening his instincts. With the field briefly clear and his comrades holding their own, Tōga seized the initiative. His run became a sprint, fueled by the heightened speed lent by Drakkon’s magical infusion. As he neared his target, Tōga drew back Zangetsu, slicing through the air with practiced grace. He carved a glowing "X" before him, from which sprang a burst of brilliant energy1.

The lines of light he had drawn in the air solidified, transforming into a powerful blast of raw, unbridled energy that surged forward. It raced towards the newly risen tower and the Kobold defenders clustered around it.

Void Raid: Darkfang the Kobold Lord Empty Sat Oct 12, 2024 8:35 am

Saturn
Saturn felt an ache he couldn’t really describe, something that he struggled for the words. He felt each swing and each use of magic pull from this ache. Was this how his form felt at all times but he never really noticed? So much mana was being slung around that it made the air feel charged to him at this point, he was always sensitive to this sort of thing. It’s why he was a demon now instead of being a demi-god.

His grip tightened on the massive spear that he had, noting that Brone had managed to escape the hold of the massive kobold. Could you even call that thing a kobold anymore? It was practically a giant. Knuckles made an attack on the kobold lord with a new weapon that saturn didn’t really recognize offhanded; though it bore resemblance to another hammer he knew of.

He felt the transformation from ittindi before he heard him speak. His eyes flicking over to the man. The armor that was now about him was not something that the expected from the fair butler. His eyes narrowed slightly as he recognized the sword that ittindi had shown him before but his words painted a… well worrying picture. Did he mean to take out the foes with him?

No pointless deaths Ittindi. We’ll talk about these forms later though.

Saturn’s attention was drawn back to drakkon; who’s brief words made it blisteringly obvious that the man was a dragonslayer. Saturn could only offer a nod to the man; he was curious what kind he was but that would be a talk for after the combat. He felt his knuckles crack as he adjusted his stance with his spear; this form was a pain to maintain and the very essence of the thing was something he was not used to maintaining. The smaller one sure but… this one?

His worry grew as he could feel that corruption of the void grow and he’d bite the inside of his cheek. Something only his transformed forms could really do. He noted the approaching kobolds and that tower beyond. But that wasn’t the only sight that decided to show itself. Lumi’s form that she graced them with had him stunned; compared to his hers was a thing of beauty. It was powerful and she wore it well. Saturn watched her attack go towards her targets.

With Darkfang making his attack, saturn snarled. Drawing on the power from within the spear and raising his hands upwards; it had the same capacity to protect as his old spear did albeit in a different way. As the wave crashed into his barrier that sprung forth he could feel it crackle but not break. This thing was equally as durable. It was made of a spinning threads of light that was billowing out from the spear. A strange sort of barrier if anything was to be said about it.

Saturn knew that he had to deal with the approaching kobolds, drawing his spear into an ‘attack’ position he’d let out a roar before dashing towards the new foes on their approach. His spear was at the front of that charge, a light shaped cone emerging from the front of it. He felt the spear greedily sup on his mana. He had already fed it twice, now he was feeding it a third time. The beam of light erupted with an intense fury and was directly aimed at that group of kobolds. If they would manage to get to them then it’d just complicate things more.

I see habits die hard then toga…

There was an amused chuckle that ran through his frame; even as the ache of that mana being drawn from him in droves had the big fella feeling worn out. That ache was supplemented by the sensation of his body ‘fixing’ itself with a swath of crystal. It’d take a little bit to feel normal or even natural, he figured.

#24Erebus

Void Raid: Darkfang the Kobold Lord Empty Mon Oct 14, 2024 6:46 am

Erebus

His spells were a success! He quickly lowered the bow, and equipped his sword in place of his bow, retaining the claws on his left arm.

The kobolds were killed just as fast as Erebus could bind them, something that actually somewhat aggravated Erebus, who has plans for those little things. Then again, he was not so bothered that he couldn't continue, and since he was getting radar monitoring above the battle field, he was in the best situation to view all events occuring.

He was able to pick up on Darkfang 's words and demonstration, paying heavy attention to where the creature was directing its voice and it's meaning. Occula zoomed against the map, revealing that treacherous adventurer to Erebus once again.

Knuckles Shi, and if Erebus was reading things correctly, was being offered the chance to ally with the enemy. This wouldn't bold well for him later, so perhaps the rogue would withdraw himself to watching how the fight transpired for a brief bit, before pushing his leg through that door that would see Earthland champion attacking Earthland champion. The sweet taste of revenge was drawing near for the rogue Erebus, at least he thought for himself slyly.

When all of a sudden a roaring wave of magic was thrusted in Erebus' wake. He placed his hand against his chest, slapping it hard and fast with little time to beat around the bush, and became translucent like that of a ghost in that very moment, as all chaos beautifully moved through him, and perfectly protected him from his opposing side to it.

Erebus was now pretty far away for any simple melee strike, so he instead began to accelerate to running speed in the direction of kobold.

Occula scanned the zone again, and zoomed into Fei Yu, the obvious healer type in this renegade band of champions. One thing out of place for Erebus however, was the fact they seemed to be so young, barely out of pre-teenage years, at least from their outward appearance.

Perhaps they weren't a human, so they were older, but Erebus had no way to know that. He silently cursed the Gods for giving him a child to protect on his treasure hunt, and rather objectively ran in that direction in case he was needed to defend them. But with that giant demon monster seeming to be gatekeeper in all of this, he was more priotiized with laying blows upon Darkfang from behind if he could scale the distance there uninterrupted.

That is to say, the troubling prospect of all this relied now upon Knuckles himself. Especially if his thoughts about Knuckles were to be correct, then he could only assume that the Void beast was about to gather it's own armada of a champion and push that warrior to face his friends and rivals right here and right now.

9 to one was simple, 8 to two and well... Erebus would be forced to wonder how many of them were already corrupted before he was left standing there alone. A thought that truly, believed or perceived or not, alarmed the death dealer who was not equipped to deal with some of Earthland's mightiest.

Brone Heavyaxe

Brone Heavyaxe

As Brone fought against the grip of Darkfang, the layer of ice that coated his entire body began to crack under the pressure of the squeeze. He gritted his teeth, his arms pressing against the inner hand as the chunks of his magical ice fell away. Fear wasn't within his stocky body, but he knew he couldn't escape by himself, so he battled the giant kobold's strength in order to by time for-

Even Knuckles came in for a fantastic strike using both Mjolnir's, assisting Toga with the frontal strike, then as a gray dragon appeared to bite the wrist of the kobold, the grip vanished and the hand opened. Brone fell from the giant hand, "Biggest of the butterfingers!" the dwarf bellowed a laughter as he dropped, "Drinks are on me, Toga, Knuckles, and wee dragon!" he shouted out a thanks with a grand smile on his face right before his feet hit the ground, sticking the landing. Unlike the rest, his landing wasn't graceful, but more like a large rock dropped onto gravel.

A lot of happening, and thankfully because of the divine battle insight Brone has, he could see the immediately area around him. Magic flew about and surged, especially that... the dwarf sniffed the air... smelled of demonic magic. He knew well that Lumikki and Knuckles surged with demonic magic as they took their demon forms, but to see two more demon-like visages form from the Knights? This was indeed getting intense. The dwarf unhooked his blue helmet from his belt and slipped it onto his head as the last of the ice from his spell fell from his body; in that moment, the temperature of the area dropped; those within 50 meters of Brone will feel the chill and see their breath become visible and frozen.

"I may not have a demon in me... but a bear is just as good" Brone smirked as he gripped his golden spear, causing it to glow, releasing the magic within and causing the air around him to spin and swirl, his body growing and expanding, his white hair rapidly grew over his body. The whipping wind dispersed as the nearly five foot tall dwarf was replaced by an eleven foot tall were-polarbear, gripping the golden spear and shield, showing onlookers it was still the dwarf and with a confirming bellowing shout, Brone rushed at Darkfang after the giant kobold sent another wave of compressed air towards Erebus. As the dwarf closed the gap, now taller, he was able to reach and attack the hip of Darkfang with a jutting thrust of his spear.
