Yuurei

Yuurei had been away from the North for quite some time. He was preparing things within Seven. He wanted to have everything completed before giving his news to the people here. The Warden didn’t know if they would be happy to join him in migrating to Seven, to a place where he would call his own. He had traveled to this place hoping to gather everyone from Orchidia, Rush Valley, and the smaller villages together to give this announcement, but it seemed like things were bad right now.

The Seraphim was in the air with Renji, the two of them soaring through it as they looked down to see a bunch of stuff was happening. They were confused about how things got like this. The North was one place that had peace in Fiore. Paradise Dawn had accomplished that with their sheer strength. There was nobody in Fiore that would dare make an enemy out of this guild or cause conflict within the North that would part a target on their back. Still, it seemed like that wasn’t the case as there seemed to be a riot happening throughout the city.

“What do you want to do Yuu?” Renji had asked him.

Yuurei looked at him with a serious look on his face.

“We have to stop this before people get hurt. If I show up what will happen? I think it would descalate quickly, but we also got to make sure the Rune Knights don’t do anything rash to the civilians.” He explained to Renji.

He nodded understanding the situation they were in.

“I see, so I shouldn’t use lethal force. Well, that sucks.” Migi said to Yuurei as he would only be able to help with extending his arm.

“I will protect you, my lord. We will go down there whenever you’re ready.” He said to Yuurei as they waited for him to make his move.

Huginn and Muninn had reached Brone Heavyaxe's shoulders and whispered into his ear. Orchidia was dealing with protesters, due to the the financial problems within Fiore. The dwarf wasn't fond of dealing with politics or economics, mainly because the subjects were too complicated for him to understand, so he didn't care to put his nose into such business or give an ear to Gnicholas, who had been questioning the possible turnout of the protests. It wasn't until the protests in Orchidia escalated to riots that worsen the situation and caught the dwarf's attention.

As Brone quickly readied himself, Gnicholas took notice, and as he noticed the dwarf wasn't answering his question of what news he heard, he realized this may be a dire situation and may involve the protests, so the curious gnome followed Brone and the two of them mounted onto Noctus, the black pegasus, before kicking off into the sky.

Though Brone was still uncomfortable with flying, he did his best to bare with the anxiety so he could get to Orchidia as quickly as possible, but eventually he couldn't keep himself focused, so he would then close his eyes and hug the pegasus while the gnome took the reigns. Gnicholas found it funny that as powerful as Brone was, keeping in mind of all the adventures he had, he was terrified of flying, such a small thing, but the gnome shrugged and continued to guide Noctus in the direction the dwarf was heading. Judging by the direction, it had to be possibly Orchidia.

Eventually, Gnicholas would catch sight of something else flying in the same direction... Yuurei! "Ah! Yuurei! It is quite fortunate for us to see you!" he called out over the wind.

"Yuurei!? By Durain's beard! What ye be doing up here?" Brone called to his friend as he opened his eyes to spot the angel flying nearby, but as he spotted how high he was up, he then shut his eyes once more and hugged the black pegasus.

Yuurei was wondering how to tackle all of this. He was positive that the North was doing well, but it seemed like someone had planted a seed of doubt within their region. Still, he would rectify that for sure. Through his examination of the below, he noticed a few Rune Knights that had entered the city. They were probably dispatched to handle the problem, which in his opinion, they shouldn’t have been here.

His ears twitched to the familiar voice. If he was here, then they were all here, right? He looked over to the new group as he saw Brone, almost choking the horse with wings. That was a good way to not use mana, and be on an animal that could naturally fly.

“It’s nice to see you Gnicholas too. I’m happy you’re doing well Brone, I heard a lot of commotion was happening within Orchidia and I came to put a stop to it.” He said to Brone.

“What brings you here, you also heard that there was something going on in these parts?” He asked curious to hear what he had to say.

Renji looked at Brone and noticed how long they had been apart. It was ever since they had conquered that mountain that things had never been the same.

“I will go down first and see if I can gather people in one place.” He said to Yuurei.

He would go down, but before that, he would give everybody the vision to see what everyone else could see. It was as if they were a hive mind as he descended.

“Are we going to help Renji?” He asked Yuurei wondering what he would say.

“Who’s that? I never met him before.” Anti said to Yuurei as a symbiote would form the silhouette of a face on Yuurei’s shoulder.

Renji had landed on the ground and in the middle of a bunch of people screaming and moving around the city. They all looked at him and were confused for a second wondering who this person was. It took them a few seconds to realize who he was.

"Aye! We heard some trouble was brewing and we came te check it out!" Brone said while his eyes were kept shut.

"Yes, well there were mention of protests going on, however recent concern was brought to our attention, though we aren't aware of what it may be, but I can only assume the protests may turn violent if it hasn't done so already" Gnicholas elaborated for Brone's sake, given that the dwarf was a man of very few words, even though he could keep eyes in the sky, he had to keep vague of whatever he heard for whatever reason, though sometimes the gnome assumed he was just simply too dense or lazy to go into detail with any information that was retrieved.

The gnome had gestured to Renji with a greeting before the exceed had flew down towards the oncoming city below for a quick recon. In the mean time, Gnicholas took noticed of not only Migi, but also a dark face that seem to appear on Yuurei's shoulder; as it spoke, the gnome nearly jumped in surprise.

"Trouble?" Brone reached for the handle of his axe upon his back when he had felt the gnome move suddenly.

"No, simply a false alarm" the gnome told the dwarf in order to calm him. Gnicholas looked at the odd creature, wondering if it was some form of mutation that originated from Migi, but the consistency of it's form seemed more liquid than Migi, who usually seem to have some form of clay consistency. He began to theorize what the being was but was interrupted when Yuurei suddenly descended, so he would follow suit and guide Noctus down towards the city. Brone began to panic but quickly bit his lip to silence himself, trying to hold onto his composure.

They eventually touched ground and Brone was quick to dismount once he heard his black pegasus touch the ground, "What in the word?" he was surprised to see the havoc of the plaza around him; people were causing destruction, looting, some screamed in terror; so many things were happening all at once, it was hard to figure out where to begin.

Yuurei, Renji, Migi, and Anti had heard the brief words that had come out of Brone’s mouth, and everything Gnicholas had said afterward. That was good to hear why they had come here as it was the same reason why he was here. This had given him more ammo to want to migrate the people who loved him out of the North. When they were on the ground and Brone was able to be himself, he smiled at his friend and patted him on the shoulder.

“Yes, I don’t understand how this even became chaotic. The way I governed the North, this should have never happened. Still, I guess there are things that not even I can control.” He said to Brone and everyone around him.

“Yuu at least we’re moving from this place into Seven right?” He asked him.

“Yes, we are you imbecile, but we also are near Iceberg as well to be close to the guild.” Migi added on.

It was then Anti had created a hand and flipped Migi, and the Migi would do the same thing. Yuurei shook his head at the two bickering. Renjii moved forward as he didn’t have time for this and Yuurei would follow behind him as he was keeping up with Brone.

“How are you liking the fact that we’re moving to Iceberg Brone? And how is Benimaru doing? I don’t see him around.” He asked him curious to hear what he had to say.

While walking though, the group would bump into a group of people gathering around the area. It looked like they were getting ready to do something they shouldn’t. The Warden of the North had commanded his presence with every step he took now. His aura reached the group who had no choice, but to look in the direction of where they felt the aura.

When they saw who it was, their eyes widened, shocked to see that the Warden of the North had come to resolve this matter himself. His eyes looked at them with disappointment as they were all frozen in place.

“What’s going on here? I thought I did enough for the people of Orchidia. I made sure you guys have everything you needed. I always check to see if there is any issue in the city and make sure that nobody is trying to ruin the city for their own gain. I do this mostly all the time, and when I don’t I have a guild who checks up on you guys too. Is that not enough?” He asked them a bit disappointed in all of this right now.

When they heard Yuurei speak about all of this, they looked at each other as they could see how concerning this was. They thought about it and he wasn’t wrong. He had done a lot for them to make them feel safe, yet here they were about to make a mess to prove a point.

“Sorry about that, we were told to do this. You see someone in Oak Town came here spilling words about the real conditions of our city, so we took their word for it and this is how everything here has started. We should have known better and trusted you.” They said bowing down a bit embarrassed that they didn’t talk to Yuurei about any of this.

“That’s fine, I will find out who did this, and give them a piece of mind, but for now and in the future speak to me about any of this. I will tell you if it's true or not.” He said to the group and they nodded.

They had gathered themselves and had left the area waving at the group as they disappeared from the area. Yuurei shook his head as he was pissed about this random person creating havoc in the North.

Public destruction, graffiti and general chaos, this was odd for the dwarf. He had heard of gas leaks within mine shafts that would cause people to go mad, but what would cause this level of insanity? Brone would follow Yuurei as they observed their surroundings. "I look forward to returning to me grandparent's homeland, the never ending winter feels like the top of the mountains, so I'm excited" the dwarf responded, trying to keep to the small talk so he wouldn't get caught up in the ruckus about them. Seeing as some people were rushing by and nearly collided with Noctus, he would gesture to Gnicholas to take the black pegasus to the sky and away from the trouble. The gnome nodded and pulled on the reins, soon enough, Noctus was off and flying above them. "Beni has been here and there, comes and goes like a dang cat" Brone shrugged, not knowing what to say else about the elusive oni.

When Yuurei approached the group who gathered to perform some form of act that Brone was not sure off due to his size and not able to see past the rear people, but the half elf was able to settle it, bringing sense to them and having them disperse. "At least we know its someone who started this, so we just need to find out who and confront them" Brone said matter-of-factly. After the group of protestors had finally dispersed, the dwarf looked at Yuurei's shoulder and asked "So Migi got a new friend or something? Something popped out of yer shoulder" he had spotted the creature after landing, but had to make a double-take to make sure he wasn't seeing a mutation of Migi, but he was now suspecting it was another kind of Migi, however that happens.

Yuurei heard Brone’s words about returning to his family’s homeland. He chuckled when he heard his excitement for what was to come. This was perfect as he was glad that Brone had found his own path away from him.

It was then that he spoke about Benimaru, and it seemed like his companion was a different kind and was never around unless he wanted to. He wondered if the Oni was scared of him, or if he just didn’t want to show.

When everything was done, he heard Brone and nodded as it was true. He wanted to find whoever did this and snuff their lights out. He wanted to kill them and make them wished they just bothered another region of Fiore. He was glad he left this country, but he was hoping to take the people in the North with him.

Yuurei looked at him and laughed when he heard him mention Anti. He nodded agreeing with him, even though the two of them hated each other’s guts.

“Yeah, while Migi only lives in my right arm. This guy, who is a symbiote lives within my body. He can cover my entire body to protect me. Like this.” He said as he would signal Anti.

The symbiote would start covering Yuurei’s body and soon enough the Warden had been covered in white as his face was the only thing not covered.

“This along with Migi and Renji by my side makes me even more powerful than the last time we fought. The demons inside of me have gone silent for now, but it is due to a promise I made them. I hope to fulfill it so that they will allow me to live my life without them bothering me anymore.” He said to Brone as he was giving him some insight into what’s been going on with him.

The two of them moved through the streets of Orchidia, and while doing so, they would see a bunch of Rune Knights not too far off in the distance. It seemed like they were yelling at people, and he felt like they were about to do something drastic. He hoped that wasn’t the case, but if they were, then he was happy that the two of them were there to make sure it didn’t escalate any further than it might have gone.

The streets of Orchidia look so much different than the days and nights Brone had visited; the peace of the city intertwined with the forest all about has always been a center of comfort and the nights were filled with life, the bars, clubs, and others always felt safe. But here, looking about the streets, it was chaos, anger, hate was vibrating through the ground and the dwarf could feel it through his boots.

Yuurei introduced... or more likely described the 'symbiote' that lives within him, "You mean like a bug?" Brone raised an eyebrow as he walked along side his friend, looking up at the tall elf, confused. Then his eyes went wide as he watched the white spread throughout his body, looking almost like armor, I mean, if it don't kill ye, then that's interestin'" He shrugged, not sure what to make of it; was it like armor or was it like Migi where it can help with offensive combat? He could only guess. Though the dwarf personally wouldn't take on such a thing, he had to already deal with the two other personalities within his mind, which was already too much of a crowd. Hearing about the demons within him did bring relief to Brone; there was a recent dream he had which involved Yuurei being torn asunder because of the two demons.

Brone followed Yuurei's gaze to a group of Rune Knights who were engaging with a group of protestors, "That don't look too good" he said mentioned a little more than a whisper. He had faith in the Rune Knights in keeping the peace and order, but when it comes to hectic situations, it was more or less a gamble to what may happen. "So what's the plan? How would we find this guy who started this?" When it came to simple confrontation, Brone could handle it with confidence, but this was being done indirectly, so it became too complicated for him to handle by himself, which is why he was thankful he wasn't alone.

Yuurei smiled when he called Anti a bug. He wouldn’t be a bug, more like an alien that has tried to take him as a host.

“Nah he’s not a bug, but he might as well be an alien. Still, he didn’t kill me, and all it did was make me stronger.” He commented on what Brone had said.

He had heard Brone’s question about them locating the person who had started all of this. He thought about the answer as they were approaching the Rune Knights.

“We will go to the source and ask questions. We can find out who it is, but I doubt they are around if they made an enemy out of Paradise Dawn.” He said to Brone.

It was then the group of Rune Knights had stopped what they were doing. They looked over to Brone and Yuurei, and when they saw a Seraphim and a Dwarf together, they knew exactly who it was. Whatever they were about to do, they had stopped doing in their tracks as they were frozen a bit. Their sense of reasoning to the people they were going punish had appeared. Yuurei had a smile on his face as the people were happy to see two of their heroes in the region had appeared.

“What are we doing here?” He asked wondering what the Rune Knights would say.

“We… we were just making sure that we stopped them from the chaos that they were doing. We were going to send them home right now. Off you go everyone, and please don’t start trouble like this again. This rumor is a lie as it is not affecting the North right now.” He said to the group.

When the rioters saw that they were good to go they would get up, bow to the two of them, and leave for their home. Yuurei looked at the Knights and shook his head at them.

“Were you guys planning on harming the people in the North?” He asked them with a serious expression on his face.

"Alien?" Brone heard the word before, which Gnicholas had to explain to him meant a foreigner of the country or of the planet. The idea of something living coming from the stars was odd and abnormal to the dwarf, but he shrugged, remembering he had dealt with multiple odd things while on the planet, which also included invaders from another dimension, or "timeline" as the gnome continued to pester the dwarf about. "Alright, so long as ye ain't gonna get eaten" he told his friend.

They made their way over to the crowd; both sides, the Rune Knights and the protestors took notice of Paradise Dawn approaching and the look of their expressions confirmed they were aware of whom was approaching. What threw Brone off was the quick switch in tone and expression from the head knight, which made the dwarf a bit suspicious. As the knight spoke to Yuurei, Brone looked to the protestors, now quieting themselves; he didn't realize how much their presence affected onlookers until then.

The dwarf had thought he would have to assist in guiding the protestors away from the scene, but it seemed easier than expected, no one resisted, or made a fuss, having Brone speculate that they were all probably directed to do this with some form of lie, once again leading back to the original person to set this into motion. When it came to politics and such, Brone was terrible in understanding it; he wasn't even sure what the protest was about, some of the people had shouted something, but the dwarf couldn't made heads or tails about it.

Then what caught his ear was Yuurei's question. Brone looked up at the head knight with a raised eyebrow and concern shown on his face, "Harm? Is this true?" The dwarf enjoyed a good fight and preferred handling situations through non-lethal violence, but he never condoned armed and trained people to ever fight civilians, such an act he viewed as weak since civilians can barely defend themselves.
