The Void-Touched Epidemic It began with strange portals appearing across Ishgar, an unknown and seemingly evil force leaking into the world. The people called it the Void. Then came the rumors-- a mindless plague unleashed by the source of those portals. Soon enough, the stories turned to horror as a mysterious infection spread, leaving everyone scrambling to survive. From Fiore to Pergrande, no one is safe. Ordinary people have become something… twisted, driven by a savage, insatiable hunger. The sick show at first, show signs. Voilent coughing, skin paling, eyes turning a sickly yellow. When they fully transform, their eyes glow purple, and they lose every part of their former selves. Some unlucky souls mutate even further, growing into giant, terrifying monsters. Yet, not everyone comes to see the Void as the enemy. Strange cults have popped up all over the world, calling the Void’s curse a cleansing--a purge of the unworthy to bring about a new world. Some claim the Void is selective, considering demi-humans, non-humans and demigods last longer before the infection takes them. And in rare cases, a few have even harnessed the Void’s energy, drawing strength from it--though it comes at a price. For some, power comes willingly as they pledge themselves to the Void’s will. For others, it’s forced upon them as their minds become altered and twisted against their will. Adventurers and mages alike have gathered to hold back the chaos, but the tide is relentless. The Magic Council has pulled out everything they have, promoting seasoned Rune Knights to higheer ranks and calling on fresh recruits to fight and protect its cities. But not everyone’s on board with so many knights and council members cleaning their streets. Dark Guilds all over the world, have become a refuge for the lost and those who don't trust the Council's involvement. Their ranks swell as the desperate and disillusioned find a home in the their shadows. The Void has made a dangerous playground out of Ishgar, a land now brimming with heroes, monsters, and those who walk the line in between. Loyalties are shaky, alliances are shifting, and in a world changed forever, everyone’s doing what they can to survive the Void creeping closer every day. Event Quest A call has gone out to the brave and capable: the world is in chaos. Villages, cities, and towns are being overwhelmed by relentless hordes of Void-touched, leaving ordinary people helpless in their wake. The Void's influence spreads twisting the afflicted into mindless agents of destruction. To make matters worse, reports of mutated Void-touched have surfaced, adding to the terror. Amid the despair, there are those who have succumbed to the Void’s allure, willingly serving as leaders and strategists for these creatures, orchestrating the devastation. The world is desperate for heroes to rise against the tide and stand against the Void’s growing dominion. Will you step in and fight back, or will you step in and call for more chaos? These individuals will automatically earn infamy. Party Bonus Reward: Those who do this quest alongside a partner can claim Social quest rewards in addition to the quest bonus reward. NPC Rolling: Those who participate with at least one other person can roll at the beginning of the thread for NPC involvement, regardless of rank by using the Dice 100. Should the user roll a 100, an NPC will join, granting greater rewards. Each additional participant allows for another chance to roll the dice, increasing the chances of rolling an NPC. Event Details
