Targa
The night sky over Amaforth Academy was unusually clear, each star twinkling like a distant beacon calling to her. Targa stood atop the astronomy tower gazing upward trying to count all the stars, but finding it both futile and impossible. Monty perched on her shoulder, his tiny eyes reflecting the celestial star scape above. "The stars are especially bright tonight, kupo," he remarked as if it needed to be said for some reason. Targa nodded. "I've been feeling a strange pull toward them lately. Almost as if they're trying to tell me something. Odd isn't it. I've certainly been through my fair share lately. You too. Almost dying to the crash magic inside me, having it sealed and having to acquire a new magic."

Monty fluttered his wings thoughtfully. "Perhaps they hold a message or a power waiting for you to discover." She turned to him with a faint smile. "Maybe. The lore master did mention that magic can sometimes be found in the most unexpected places." As they watched, suddenly a large shooting star streaked across the sky leaving behind a brief but bright trail behind. Targa's eyes widened. "Did you see that?" "Yes! Make a wish, kupo!"

Closing her eyes, Targa whispered, "I wish to unlock the secrets the stars hold for me." When she opened her eyes, the air around them seemed to shimmer subtly. Monty looked around. "Did you feel that? It's like the stars are responding." Targa laughed. "Probably just a coincidence."

Targa
The following evening Targa found herself drawn back to the astronomy tower. This time she carried a celestial map she had borrowed from the academy's library. Unfurling it, she traced the constellations with her finger. "There must be a reason I feel so connected to the stars lately," she wagered. Monty hovered above the map. "Perhaps there's a particular constellation that's calling out to you, kupo." She studied the map intently until her gaze settled on the constellation known as "The Star." It was said to symbolize hope, inspiration, and new beginnings. "This one," she pointed. "I feel a connection to The Star."

They spent hours observing the constellation, Targa contemplating on its meaning. As the late hours came, the stars came out with them and seemed to glow brighter than the night before and the constellation of The Star shone brightest. Suddenly, a gentle voice whispered in the wind, "Seek the Star, and you shall find your true path." Targa looked around in surprise. "Did you hear that, Monty?" He nodded excitedly. "I did! The stars are speaking to you!" She felt off put by it. Why her? Why speak to her? It's not like she was super powerful or super special. She'd shrug... "Then I must seek out whatever the stars are guiding me toward. I guess"

Targa sought out the lore master the next day. "I've been experiencing a strong connection to the stars, particularly The Star constellation," she explained. The lore master smiled knowingly. "It's not uncommon for mages to find guidance in the stars. They are ancient and hold much wisdom. Not just with the stars but some mages find power with many so called Tarots." "Is there a way to tap into their power?" she asked eagerly.

He stroked his beard thoughtfully. "There is a ritual, an astral journey, that allows one to commune with the stars directly. It is said that those who undertake it may receive a unique aura or ability." Monty chimed in. "That sounds perfect, kupo!" The lore master nodded. "However, it's not without its challenges. The journey tests your spirit and resolve. You keep getting teste lately. You sure you want to do it?"

Targa shrugged as it was basically common place now with her. "I'm willing to take the risk." "Very well," he agreed. "Tonight, when The Star constellation is at its ZENITH, you will begin the ritual. Prepare yourself mentally and spiritually."  The Star Tarot: Targa 1f607

As Targa left his chamber she couldn't help but feel both excited and apprehensive. Monty flew beside her. "This could be the key to unlocking the power you've been sensing." She smiled softly. "I believe it is, Monty. Tonight, we'll see where the stars lead us."

Targa
As darkness descended upon the academy. Targa returned to the astronomy tower, the highest point where she could be closest to the stars. The lore master had provided her with a small ornate bowl and instructed her to fill it with pure water, which she did. "Are you ready?" Monty asked quietly. She took a deep breath. "As ready as I'll ever be." Following the lore master's instructions, Targa lit a circle of candles around her. She sat cross-legged before the bowl, her hands placed on either knee. Gazing into the water she focused her thoughts on The Star constellation.

She began to focus on the reflection of the stars in the water, something meant to bridge the gap between the terrestrial and the celestial. The stars above seemed to pulse in response. A beam of starlight descended, enveloping her in a soft glow. Monty watched in awe. "Targa, something's happening!" She felt a gentle warmth spread through her body. Visions of distant galaxies and swirling nebulae filled her mind. A calm voice echoed within her consciousness. "You who seek the wisdom of the stars, are you prepared to embrace their light?" "Yes I am."

The voice continued speaking to her. "To receive the Star's blessing, you must prove your sincerity and dedication. Are you willing to face the challenges ahead?" Always sincerity and dedication with these things she'd think to herself. "I am," Targa affirmed. Instantly, the surroundings shifted. She found herself standing on a bridge of starlight amidst a vast expanse of space. Below her, countless stars twinkled, and nebulous clouds swirled in vibrant colors. Monty appeared beside her, though he seemed more ethereal. "Where are we, kupo?" "I think we're within the astral plane, and I'm happy to see you're here with me. Was worried I'd have to go at this alone again."

Ahead, the bridge led to a grand celestial gate guarded by a luminous figure composed of starlight. The guardian spoke, "To pass, you must answer a riddle: What shines brightest in the darkest night, offering hope to those who wander?" Targa contemplated the question. "The stars," she answered confidently. "They guide travelers and bring hope in the darkest times." The guardian nodded. "You may proceed." The gate opened, and they stepped through, entering a realm where the stars formed pathways and constellations became living entities. "You're doing great, Targa, but um... wasn't that kinda a simply and obvious question?" Monty encouraged. She shrugged. "Thank you, Monty. I wager it's a standard question that is something event he less educated could answer."
