Kon

Wielding his pumpkin staff, Kon was already starting to remember his first ever summoning spell he had gotten, it was just a few weeks ago in fact he had been in Crocus at the time. Having just completed a mission with Selena slaying a rat.

With a heavy sigh, Konstantin rose from his rented bed slowly rubbing his temples remembering the job he had just completed several weeks ago now aided by the rest of the team, they had been tasked with slaying a giant rat. With Konstantin having killed the rat and taken it’s soul in the possess, he was now capable to turning it into a spell, however In his current state he was nowhere near ready to do anything. So he popped into the bath and soaked in the tub, as he did so he poured himself a glass of whiskey from a nearby flask and enjoyed it’s rich flavour. Eventually leaving the bath and donning his regular attire including his white and red robe as the weather had improved since yesterday.

Konstantin walked over to the window and looked out just as he had done yesterday revealing the now crowded streets busy with people catching up on their shopping. The sun shone down upon them with the large puddles from last nights rain causing Konstantin to accidentally blinding himself on the glare. Just outside underneath the inn’s roof, tied up to a bar with some food and water, Sparky was waiting for him. As he was off duty today he would use this time to return to the scene of where they had buried the rat and recover it’s remains for further use and examining its properties. Reaching the area where it had been laid to rest, he began to dig it up using a shovel that had been left there.

He was forced to block his nose as he recovered the remains of the mutated animal it had already began to decay despite it only having been dead for a day, perhaps it was related to the chemicals it had on it. Trying to ignore the smell and other less than pleasant things that a dead being was associated with. Returning the dirt into the empty pit, with the rat exposed to the environment, his companion sparky didn’t seem overly impressed with his behaviour. Paying little attention to it he flung the dead rat over the Blitzle where he had placed a clear plastic drape over to ensure none got on his companion.

With Sparky, reluctantly accepting his duty as a pack mule for today, he followed after Konstantin whom was leading him into the forest. Once inside the forest, he slid the plastic sheet and rat gently off Sparky making sure none of it’s remains got on him, because cleaning that stuff was annoyingly difficult. With him all alone now save for Sparky and the dead rat, he would be able to perform the ritual to be able to use the dead body of the rat as a summonable spell. Having the psycho rat on the ground, Konstantin drew a sharp kitchen knife that he had borrowed and pricked his little finger and allowed a few drops of blood to fall onto the rat, before he cut the rat to allow its own semi-dried blood to leave its body.

As the blood oozed out, he began to develop a magic circle out of it. Once the blood had completely finished, he sat cross-legged wielding his staff with his right hand, began to form various hand gestures with his left hand at an increasing pace causing the rat to twitch slightly and the blood to go back into the hideous beast.

Eventually Konstantin’s pacing began to reduce eventually only doing one once every half a minute. Just as a normal person would think he’d completely stopped, something bizarre happened something transferred from Kon to the rat. What it was most people wouldn’t know but could guess. He however knew that the rat’s soul had accepted it’s old body and new master and was now capable of obeying his orders without question.

Sparky obviously didn’t like the rat as when it started getting up, he responded to it with a snarl. Kon even had to tell him to relax and go pet him to let him know it was okay. Eventually he calmed down and he would be able to test out the overall level of command he was able to have over the rat and how much it understood. In his mind, he suspected that it would be capable of doing maybe minor commands, though for now he’d just have to find out.

Undead Rat now back at 100% save for the decaying tissue, he began to give it basic orders; Attack that tree with it trying to destroy it, defend me with the rat going into a defensive position near konstantin, Follow Sparky with the rat doing exactly what he asked. Knowing the capabilities of the rat from when he had no need to directly test in a fight, considering he had just fought it yesterday. Instead Kon merely dispelled the rat, causing the corpse of it to fall into itself and turn into dust. He was now capable of casting that rat at any point with or without the staff, though it seemed to help him a fair amount though in what sense he didn’t know just yet.

Having obtained at least one spell finally, Konstantin’s mood had become far more upbeat as he had grown annoyed by him needing to lean for assistance from not just others, but also his companion and even using the staff as a weapon when he’s desperate. For now though he’d treat himself and Sparky to a good job. Plus considering that it was almost nightfall anyway, it was time for dinner anyway. Interestingly the overall procedure that taken pretty much all day, though that had been largely due to moving the rat. He wasn’t looking forward to having to move a human, something of that size or even bigger and hoped that his Blitzle would be more capable of carrying things soon. Ignoring those details for now as he might find a better way to do it later, Konstantin wielding his staff returned to the town’s center with his companion that had become equally cheerful.
