Home Sweet Home. How long had it been? At the very least it had been much longer than Kazumi had hoped when she first got that summon to Era. Of course, all of that was in the past now. For now, she just wanted to sit back and reacquaint herself with her guild. After all, she could meet some new faces since she hd been away for so long. She walked up to the big wooden doors of Fairy Tail, simply wearing jeans and a touristy "I <3 Fairy Tail" novelty T-shirt. Her Suitcase rolled behind her as she dragged it along, not bothering to stop home and put it away. Hello Fairy Tail, I'm back. She thought to herself as she entered the guild hall for the first time in months.
The guild was as busy as ever, People chatting away at the bar, having friendly sparring matches, or simply running off on another mission. It felt good to come back to this. Looking around, the crystal maker mage did not see anyone particularly familiar, that is until she saw a man with long hair standing around. She remembered meeting him just before she left town, but for some reason, her memory of his name was a little fuzzy. Actually, her mind seemed to be doing that a lot lately, now that she thought about it. Oh well, no matter. She walked up behind the man and tapped him on the shoulder "Hey, It's Jin, right? Long time no see."

"We should go on a quest sometime when we're both free or something..." he suggested to her as his mind raced What the hell Shin why would you say that what if she says yes and you go on a quest with her and that Blond tags along!? he asked himself repeatedly picturing exactly how it would happen. He also thought back to the first day that he met her which was just a disaster, to say the least.

Shin, as he corrected Kazumi to his actual name, seemed to tense up when the Crystal Maker started up a conversation with him, even going so far as to mutter something under his breath, though Kazumi could not hear it. That was strange. She had never really encountered that before. At least, not that she had ever noticed. In all honesty, it was a bit concerning and made things a bit awkward. Well, awkward on top of the awkward presence already there when Kazu got this wizard's name wrong. "Oh, SHIN! I'm so sorry, I believe there was a Jin there that day as well, and your names are so similar, so I suppose my memory chose the wrong one." She chuckled nervously. "Well, I'll definitely remember it from now on, no worries." she attempted to reassure him. Hopefully it worked, because Shin then decided to continue the conversation, asking why Kazumi was back so soon from her trip. "So Soon? God, it felt like I was away FOREVER. It had to have been at least a couple of months, right?" Kazumi shook her head. "I just had to get back as soon as I could, so here I am. What about you? What have you been up to?"
whether Shin answered the question or not was on him. However, he Did eventually ask Kazumi if she would like to take a mission with him sometime. "Oh, I would love to! These things tend to go faster with a partner, you know? Just gimme a few days to settle back down and I should be good to go. I'm thinking I'm going to spend some time relaxing and mingling to make of for lost time. Maybe even go camping with some guild members. Who knows?" Kazumi spoke quickly, beginning to get over her personal nervousness about the situation she had found herself in.

"There doesn't seem to be anything interesting," the Fairy Tail mage murmured to himself as he gave the guild's request board a quick run over for a fourth time. As he was contemplating a request that required him to help a tabby cat down from a tree near the local drug shoppe, a certain conversation that was taking place fairly close to him caught his attention. It was worth noting that the Fairy Tail guildhall was an incredibly noisy, and rowdy place, and all sorts of situations could be taking place at any given time, simultaneously. With that considered, it was actually strange that despite everything, Houren still found himself intrigued by the conversation that was going on between two of his guildmates; one was a feminine boy with long red hair, and the other was a girl with tied black hair and a gimmicky shirt.
No longer interested in the request board, the Fire Dragon Slayer faded away from there without anyone noticing and approached the two, making no effort to conceal his footsteps, not that it would have made any difference considering his large frame. The pair had been saying something about doing requests together, and of course that was something that piqued Houren's curiosity. After all, even the most mundane of quests could be made interesting if you were in the company of the right, interesting people.
He let his voice be heard. "Seems like something interesting is going on here," he said in a light tone.

'You have done well in gathering up, my children.'
The tall figure said, stepping out of the shadows and letting his presence be known to the Fairy Tail guild members. He stood atop cobble stairs that led to the vacant guild-masters room. The stairs arched itself, giving them ample of sight of Maarschalk after he stepped into the light, as they were situated in the general guildhall which connected the entire guild with each other.
'I am your new guild master, and I expect to be respected as such. To begin with, I'd like to get your names & the magics you use, if possible also your rank... starting with... you.'
His pointy finger left the shadows, and found itself pointing towards the male with the red locks. None of these people knew Maarschalk, which would forbid them from guessing his real identity. His voice was full of confidence, even a master at detecting lies couldn't tell he was lying--at least, not from the distance between him and the party of mages.
They had other ways to test whether or not he was telling the truth, but they'd have to gamble. Maarschalk was combat ready, ready to prove himself worthy. After having identified the first person he'd like to receive the information from, he slowly lowered his hood, and expected the others to give their information as well.
Whilst his fame allowed certain civilians to recognize him from the places he's been through, it never was powerful enough to stretch across these lands--to Magnolia. To these mages, Maarschalk is a stranger. This was mutual as he couldn't recognize their faces.
Roughly ten to fifteen meters separated the party of Fairy Talians and Maarschalk, which in turn let Maarschalk to raise his voice whenever he spoke. Though he didn't raise his voice enough for the entire guild to perceive his words, just the couple in the guildhall.

"Umm shouldn't you already know me I mean I've been in the guild for a while now." the reply was more question than answer as a guild master should knew nearly all the names of the people in the guild. What does knowing my magic have to do with anything oh well. he thought heading to the table in the middle left Now that I thnk about it I've never seen the guild master once...maybe it's due to me not really paying attention when I am here? Shin questioned himself as he waited to see what the others would join him at the table or not.

Quite soon after Kazumi accepted Shin's offer to go questing, Another man, Houren in fact, jumped into the conversation, asking what was going on. "Oh, Hey. What's Up? It's as Shin here said, we were just thinking about going on a request." Kazumi replied to the fire mage as Shin started toward a table, requesting that the trio sits down to continue the conversation. Kazu found it to be a fantastic idea, following the red head to whatever empty table he picked, choosing a seat across from him. However, she would not be given the chance to physically sit before something truly strange happened.
A Mysterious cloaked man came walking into the guild, declaring that he was their new guild master. After a moment of confusion, It was all Kazumi could do to hold in a sudden burst of laughter. She liked to think she was MOSTLY successful. Shin was the first to respond, seeing as the man addressed him directly with questions about Rank and Magic. Shin raised a point about how a guild master should already know who the members are, though he seemed to have missed the part when the man said he was new. That was when Kazu chose to speak up, though she was talking more to Shin and Houren than the mystery man at first. "Wonderful. So either Cecilia hired some new guy who's too lazy to do some research, or, more likely, this guy has no idea what he's talking about." One had to admit, the sudden probing was pretty suspicious. "Hey buddy," she now called in an attempt to get the strange man's attention. "Isn't it more customary to introduce yourself first? What's YOUR Rank and magic, huh? Maybe you should come back with Cecilia for confirmation. I'd rather hear any of this from her."

There wasn't much emotion in the Fire Dragon Slayer's voice as he spoke those words, but the wry smile on his face gave away his fairly obvious discontentment at the lack of interesting requests. The two other Fairy Tail mages could take his word for it as well, since he had quite literally just come from reviewing the request board. There was no look of elation on Houren's features when Shin Sekai made his suggestion that the three of them find some place to sit down, since he hadn't intended on hanging out with these two for any longer than necessary. Houren knew that if he sat down with the two of them, getting up and excusing himself from the party would definitely be awkward. Still, he attempted to acknowledge his fellow guildmate's goodwill with an encouraging smile; it was not entirely inaccurate to say that this was a specialty of his, and he had grown into his role as the guild's resident gentle giant. Despite that, and having to look up at him from atop a flight of stairs, Houren found himself being dwarfed by a mystery man who saw it fit to now emerge from the shadows.
The tall figure seemed to address the three of them but quickly honed in on the man that Houren knew as Shin Sekai, not because they were personal friends before this particular meeting, but because Houren had made a habit of remembering the various different names and faces of the different members of the guild. Shin wasn't someone that he had even spoken to before today, but his boisterous nature made him well known throughout the guild. The rose haired mage didn't seem interested in playing along with this stranger's outrageous game, and after a snappy reply, had begun to make his way towards the table, just like he said he was going to do. The Fire Dragon Slayer had little intention to go along with whatever the mystery man was saying either, but due to the aforementioned reasons, was disinclined to join Shin Sekai at his table. Instead he stayed put, but as things would turn out, nothing would be expected of him as Kazumi began to burst into laughter.
Her haughty reply and obvious skepticism was not unfounded, of course, and if Houren was not a man of such stoic disposition, his jaw might have (metaphorically?) dropped in disbelief too, not because Cecilia disappeared somewhere and left this mysterious figure in charge, but because someone who he had not even seen before had the audacity to claim such a thing would happen in the first place. Still, due to Kazumi's aggressive approach, the silver haired man had little reason to do anything other than be passive for the time being.

A certain countenance of surprise came to Maarschalks face. One that had been mastered in his 30-years of age--capable of faking any emotion as strongly as humans could. Given that there were no abominable monster acting as a human present, the young-looking Fairy Talians wouldn't be any wiser. The mischief played out of the hand of the jester wasn't as merciful--his words sounded true, as did his actions. After hearing the name of their 'previous' Guild Master, Maarschalk forced every cell in his body to stop him from grinning as he was dealt another blackjack.
'Cecilia went on an S-rank adventure. With nothing but the clothes on her back, she died a hero--according to the report of the Magic Council. Me? I believe otherwise, but that's a tale for another time.'
There wasn't a good way to assure these people other than keeping their interest. Being neglected and ignored was a bad way to go on about this. They certainly would be interested towards this report he just made up.
'Most of you deserve explaining, so allow me to elaborate a little--'
With his left hand resting on the railing of the stairs, Maarschalk took a leap and jumped from it. Landing a few meters in front of the Fairy Talians. His black leather combat boots protected his legs from the fall, as it was a 3-meter drop, nothing too unusual for the male. His monstrous height added a factor to his intimidating words. After his drop, he took off his black robe in a heroic fashion. The robe that hid his identity to a certain degree rested on the cold cobble guild hall. By taking his robe off, he unraveled his body, which was built for physical combat. Guessing by the physical strength of these members, he could take them on with a single arm. And perhaps all of them at once, with both arms simultaneously.
'My name is Void Ampersand. I am a former high-ranking member of the council, and until now I've been acting in the shadows as my instructions were to do so. I came here to fulfill as the temporary Guild Master until a new one is found.'
He'd start off talking, saying his name like it belonged to him. Every letter, every word, nailed to perfection--not a twitch in his eyes or a missbeat in his heart that might indicate the fabrication of truth. During his dialogue, he'd not stop unless interrupted by something with ill intentions--which in turn would receive the same treatment back.
'Now that I have your attention, I'm willing to ask you for your name again--should you disobey, there will be consequences. Ignoring a Guildmaster, even if he's temporary, is a great showing of disrespect. Should you do as I ask, I will tell you more about what happened to Cecilia. Understood?'
Maarschalks left eye-brow was cocked upwards, as he spoke with his face facing the redhead. He could see the other two members in his peripheral vision, should they try anything funny, they wouldn't surprise him.

"Hey bro can I ask why you didn't let one of us take the roll? I mean surely one of us must have the skill to run the guild right guys?" he asked the members of his table and the man with a small smile on his face This sucks Why can't I have one normal day here! the rage was just stacking up at this point but he did somewhat of a good job to cover it up with a smile that could easily turn into a face of rage.

Now he was claiming that Cecilia was dead? Her heart admittedly banged, Hoping it wasn't truly real, But Kazumi herself was not absolutely convinced. Bad news travels fast, so one would think her own guild would have known about it. One could not blame Kazumi for not believing this "Void" guy. He was making a VERY bold claim with nothing but his confidence to back it up. On top of that, He started threatening his supposed guild members, however indirect. Yeah, there was no way she was gonna fall for this, even if it was true. She already doubted him, so it would be difficult to believe him no matter how sincere he was actually being. Not without proper evidence. Kazumi stepped away from the seat she never go to sit in. "That's a lot of words you don't have any proof for, But okay, Let's play along. 'Oh no! Not Master Cecilia! How come she never told her own guild she was Going to be out on a big mission? I need to go home and wrap my head around this utter tragedy.'" Kazu noticed her own hostility of course, but she was just so tired of random people showing up and being rude. Perhaps she was just a bit touchy about it today. Still, her own attitude was not going to solve anything, and she recognized that. The crystal mage was done here, turning to Houren and Shin. "I've been planning on going to the pet store for some time now, I think I'm going to take this opportunity to do that and clear my head. I'll see you around, maybe we can find an interesting mission to go on next time." With that, she walked right past the strange man and out the door, heading into the city. a little walk and some shopping would do good to make her feel better.

The bronzed mage rubbed the nape of his neck sheepishly as his new fellow guild mates left the scene, leaving him alone in the center of the guildhall. Shin Sekai no longer seemed to be interested in whatever was going on here, and had walked away to flirt with some female members who were sitting elsewhere in the guildhall, or at least that is what it seemed to be; he was no longer close enough to be heard, but he could be seen fairly clearly from where Houren was standing, and the sight of his young, redheaded friend crashing and burning in front of the ladies put a smile on the Fire Dragon Slayer's face. The crystal mage, on the other hand, mentioned something about a pet store, but it was fairly obvious to him that she wasn't in any particular hurry to go there. It was simply a case of her no longer feeling comfortable, which should never be the case in one's own 'second home', of sorts.
There wasn't really much left for Houren to do, and he decided that it would be best for him to withdraw too. When he approached them earlier, he had carried a faint hope that perhaps he would be able to meet some fun people to adventure with, but the moods of both Kazumi and Shin Sekai had clearly been soured by the events that had just transpired. He was never the sort of person to publicly announce his arrival, and of course, that extended to him being the kind of person who'd just drift away from a conversation as opposed to uttering the traditional goodbye. Without so much as a word, Houren turned around and exited the guildhall, with no place in particular as his destination.
