It was funny how these girls were trying so hard to flatter him, to catch his attention and seducing with their looks. Undoubtedly, being a playboy, King easily deferred into the attractive looks of these women, as they would blatantly display their cleavage and thrust their bottoms at him, attempting to grind against him along with the rhythm of the music. And of course, he enjoyed all the attention that he was receiving from the girls though, that didn’t stop him from having another sip from his mug of ale. King wished that he had changed his outfit instead of showing at the bar with clothing back from his kingdom, though to his eyes, it was what most people wore in his country, but with less gold and cheap cloth. Then, he wouldn’t have to struggle dancing along with these women whom he would even bother remembering their names.

It wasn’t often that Snowflake decided to have a drink but when she does, she either returns home with just a couple drinks of beer or gets wasted entirely, though she assumes that it would be the latter. Pushing the oaken doors to the inn open, the scent of alcohol immediately wafted into her nose and loud music pounded her ears. The entire place was packed with people, although it was mostly men and she wondered if it was just this crowded because it was a weekend. Nevertheless, she weaved through the crowd, edging through the dense flow of people and led herself towards the counter of the bar.

”Would you like to come join me tonight?” He whispered in her ears, a smirk still lingering on his lips. He could see the corners of her lips curve upwards into a small smile as she turned to face him, with her arms wrapped around her neck.
”Sure.”
It was then he caught a glimpse of silver hair within the corner of her eyes, until his gaze landed upon a young woman, who had an entirely different aura compared to the rest of the other girls. His eyes scanned up and down her petite figure and at first glance, King couldn’t help but laugh at himself since he hasn’t met any woman who’s entered an inn in such a dull dress – entirely black as if she was attending a funeral. Albeit, he was very curious to meet such a person who was so different.
”Actually, nevermind. You go dancing on your own.” With that, he peeled her hand off her body and turned towards the new girl, leaving the ginger standing there with her mouth wide open. ”Have you actually been to a bar? You know, you shouldn't dress that way.” He began, seating himself right next to her.

A sharp smell of drink wafts towards her, like black plumes bellowing from the windows of a burning house as the bartender located her order in front of her. Raising her glass to her lips, she took a small sip of the drink and pulled a slight frown. She had never been fond of beer and knowing how terrible it tasted, she wished she had ordered a cup of wine instead. Just then, a young man scooted over to her side, leaning in front of her only to make a snarky comment regarding about her dress.
Cerulean eyes quickly wander over the features of his face and no doubt, he was one of the most good-looking men she has ever seen but with a sour personality like his, there was no way in hell that Snowflake would get along with this man. As much as she tried to bit back a rude remark, she was not going to withstand the fact that her favourite dress was being insulted. ”Probably even more than you.” It was an obvious lie, but it wasn’t as if the man would know whether or not she has been going to and from inns and pubs. The reason she did not want to enter bars was also because of the reason that she did not want to encounter men like him.
”Besides, why do you care what I’m wearing? Unless you’re a pervert.”
The white haired lady retorted, picking up her mug of beer and prepared to move to the other location where she wouldn’t be bother. It would be best if she was able to dance alone, where her presence would not be disturbed. Snowflake stood up from her seat and turned around to face away from the man.
Mon Aug 28, 2017 4:38 am
”Perhaps, I’m a pervert.” The man grinned, shrugging himself and placed his mug of ale on the table. Without saying another word, the woman stood up from her seat and prepared to leave, most likely away from him. ”Whoa, mademoiselle, I was joking. You can keep sitting here.” King grabbed her arm slightly, noticing how small it was inside his big hand although he could still feel the tone muscles underneath her clothing. ”Or am I that scary?” He made sure not to exert too much force but released her arm from his grasp.
The man titled her head slightly at an angle, to get a better view of the young lady and noticed how she had her eyes covered with a dark piece of cloth. He wondered what would be behind the cloth and the reason why she had it on around her face, hopefully no more than a pair of eyes. Compared to other women that he had met, this young lady had a different aura, possibly a bit overwhelming for him. She had a confident stature of herself and even from the way she dressed, he could tell that she was very different, which was also the reason why he was drawn towards her. King had always been good in deciphering people from their actions and after studying her movements, he could tell that she preferred solitude over anything else. ”So, what’s your name?”
Mon Aug 28, 2017 4:51 am
”Snowflake.”
She responded without facing him, her answer simple and straight-forward, just like her personality. Previously, she had noticed how he was staring at her intently, not in a mischievous way but there was confusion written on the features of his face, as if he was wondering what was behind the dark cloth that wrapped around her eyes. ”Curious, huh?” She turned to look at him as she waited on what sort of reaction he would give. ”They’re just my eyes.” She mumbled, her fingers idly grazing over the cloth before she located her chin on her palm while her elbow rested on the wooden counter. Snowflake let her eyes study his appearance once again and realised how unique and different his clothing was, compared to the ones that she has seen.
It was intricated with complicate design, although it wasn’t necessarily bad, but instead, the details suited the outfit really well. Gold and teal were imbedded in the clothing and chains were hooked onto the area around his shoulder where his cape would fall over his seat and over the wooden floorboard. From just one glance, she knew that it would not be from Fiore. ”You’re not from Fiore, are you?”

King repeated, the word swirling in his mind before he registered it into his thoughts, since he intended to remember her name, for the first time in a long while. ”It’s a pretty name.” He commented, a smile growing onto his lips and gulped down the entire glass of ale that he had ordered. When the bartender crossed the counter and their gazes interlocked, he raised his index finger, indicating the other man that he wished to have another glass. ”My name’s King.” It was a simple name, easy to remember and likely to stick in people’s minds better than other names.
When this girl called, Snowflake, caught him staring at her, he couldn’t help but avert his gaze away and force out a laugh to hide his embarrassment. Although he was curious, he didn’t expect her to be so honest to inform him that it was just a pair of eyes, just like he had expected. The bartender pushed another glass of ale in his direction and with a spread of his palm, he caught it in his hands before lifting it up to his mouth and chucked down at least a quarter of the liquid. He wasn’t sure why he was in such a hurry, but part of him wished to get a little bit tipsy to enjoy himself, which would take a couple more drinks.
”Yes.” He paused, sipping from his alcohol and continued, ”I’m from a country called Desierto. Let me guess.” King took a sharp intake of breath, holding a finger up in front of him so that she wouldn’t speak. ”My clothing gave it away, am I right?” The man grinned and although he already knew the answer to his question, he wanted to hear her response. A lot of people, mostly the ones he had met, figured that he was a foreigner based on his mild oriental fashion which seemed to ooze a bit of doubt for the likelihood of him being a Fiore-bound wizard for the local men.

King – a ruler of a country, could also be prescribed as a leader. It was a very unique name, admittedly although she wondered what sort of family would name their son as King. She noticed how both of them had ridiculous names although hers was not actually official but mostly used by people around her. She did not wish anyone to use her full name nor did she even intend to tell them about it. The reason why she discarded her real name was also because she wished to forget her past and move on, to become a free spirit and wander around the country of Fiore and possibly more.
”Desierto, I’ve heard of it.”
The woman nodded, recalling her memories of shutting herself inside a library, her head buried in books as she studied about things that were way beyond her knowledge. Despite the fact that she did not have a social life due to her being a bookworm, the knowledge that she had gained had been useful to her, especially since she became a mage where she would have to apply her experiences in certain areas. Also, she liked being intelligent and superior than the others and books had always been a source of freedom for her, for she could imagine whatever she wanted and study about the live that existed out of the country as well as the planet.

”You don’t like beer?”
It was rather unusual for someone who doesn’t enjoy beer to like rum since it tasted even stronger than the other one. Subtly, he observed her from head to toe. The woman was certainly the entire opposite of his type, but for some reason, he was drawn towards her and found her appearance very nique. She was attractive in her own certain way, although he preferred woman with long hair with bright colours while Snowflake’s hair was cut short and simply, a plain silver colour. King noticed how her choice of clothing was extremely dull as well, since she was only in black and white. Nonetheless, he assumed she had a rather interesting personality and unlike other girls, the young woman had not even make a single move to hit on him yet and barely even showed any interest in him.
”Say, do you want to play a drinking game?”
Wed Aug 30, 2017 4:22 am
As a person who never enjoyed being among crowds or loud places, Snowflake refrained from visiting such places and would only do so when she knows that there wouldn’t be too many people and especially as a form of relaxation after she had completed a strain of quests. She finished the glass of rum much quicker than the time she took drinking her beer and sighed loudly upon finishing her glass. When she held the glass in front of her, the bartender would quickly add more alcohol in her glass. While she waited, King brought up drinking games into discussion and Snowflake immediately nodded without any hesitation.
”What kind of drinking game is it? And, what does the winner get?”
A little challenge would be fun at this hour and the game would also be useful to distract her from the loud music in the background and to help her ignore random drunk people bumping into her shoulder frequently.

”This game is called Two Truths & A Lie. It's a game where each of us will have to identify which of three statements is a lie. If you guessed it wrong, you take a shot and the winner gets...” He looked up at the ceiling and rubbed his chin once again. ”…I don’t know. We’ll come up with something later. Let's start the game with an easy one.” The bartender came by once again to deliver the entire bottle of vodka and before he went away, King hastily ordered two cups for shots.
”I like girls. I like money. I like swimming.” And so, the game begins.
Fri Sep 01, 2017 3:18 am
”Let’s…go for it.” She was a bit hesitant, slightly shaking her head but went with the challenge anyway, since she didn’t like to give up so easily without trying.
The first round was pretty easy to guess albeit, Snowflake assumed that King was probably just throwing easy statements for her to get used to the game. No doubt, the pace of the game would pick up extremely fast soon enough. ”I like swimming is definitely a lie.” One glance at King and everyone would be able to guess that he enjoys the company of women specifically. Also, being from a country like Desierto, it is possible that he would like having loads of money as well. It was a lucky guess but hopefully, it would be correct.
"My turn. I've travelled all around Fiore. I love desserts. I'm a bookworm."
Fri Sep 01, 2017 3:25 am
King took the shot from his glass, not because he lost the round or anything, but just for the sake of it. The liquid slipped down his throat and he could feel the burning sensation inside his stomach. He was aware that drinking too much of this alcohol would probably take a toll on his body but, he could risk it for a single night, especially with such an interesting girl sitting in front of him. Normally, he wouldn’t play such stupid games with anyone but instead spend his time flirting with girls and making out with them, apparently. Though, it was sure that he was flirting with Snowflake as well but his actions were very subtle and he also ensured himself to not make it too obvious.
”You loving desserts is a lie. Correct?” The man raised an eyebrow, hoping that his choice of answer was true. Snowflake definitely did not appear like someone who would enjoy sweet things but then it was hard to tell since she barely even shows any expressions. Moreover, they have just met a few hours ago.
Fri Sep 01, 2017 5:09 am
”Go ahead and drink up.”
This would be the perfect game for her and since she was very hard to guess due to her ambiguous appearance, she was positive that she had the advantage of winning the game, although she was not going to bet on it. ”Oh, I may not look like it but I definitely love pastries.” It was probably very unexpected but it was who she was – very unpredictable, and that was how she wanted to be. She located her elbow on the counter and rested her chin on the palm once again, contemplating on what facts and lie she should add the next round and curious of how King would respond to the lie.
Fri Sep 01, 2017 5:28 am
”Goodness, I never thought you would like sweets. You don’t look like one. So, what was the lie?”
The young woman does have an intelligent look for herself; formal and sophisticated and he could imagine her reading a book at a library or just somewhere quiet, away from people. So far, King was enjoying the game himself as much as he wanted the lady in front of him to be as well although, with such strong drinks, he was already starting to get tipsy but it would be long before he would be drunk, for he has extremely high tolerance for alcohol. ”You’re doing good.” He complimented, clearly impressed into tricking him but quickly moved onto the next round.
”Here goes nothing.” King smiled and paused, while he pondered about himself and how he should trick her into losing this round. ”I’m very interested in a person. I never wanted to become a wizard or a mage. I lived in a house filled with maids and butlers. This was going to be a hard guess, just like how he wanted to be. He did not have any intentions to tell a story related to his past or how his family was like, albeit, he felt as if he could trust this woman.
Fri Sep 01, 2017 5:39 am
”I’m still travelling, but I haven’t visited every single town in Fiore yet, which is actually one of my ambitions.” Snowflake was startled by her own answer and did not even expect herself to speak so much when normally, she would barely say anything to her comrades – let alone strangers.
Snowflake quietly listened to his statements and took a long moment to contemplate on the options. It was very difficult to guess and considering the fact that they have just met, she barely knew anything about him and she did not want to make assumptions based on his appearance either. After she had spent a while making her decision, she concluded, ”You never wanted to become a wizard or a mage.” Honestly, her resolve was technically based on his appearance; King does not seem to have any ambitions, fools around with women a lot and he looks very laid-back with everything. It was possible that he did not want to become a mage, but just for the sake of it.

The silver haired man was never a big fan of obtaining knowledge, albeit, he had a talent in studying and is very intelligent. Back in Desierto, when he was home-schooled, the majority of the tutors had to return back to their hometowns after teaching him, not because he was a terrible student, but mostly because he absorbed all the studies extremely fast, almost inhuman, which left the tutors nothing to teach him anymore. He was never interested in education, anyhow and only did it just to impress his high-profile parents.
”Pfft – Bahahahahahaha!” The lad bursted out laughing, grabbing his stomach even though he was not sure of the reason of why he was guffawing. It took him a long minute to regain his composure before he gently nudged Snowflake’s vodka shot in front of her. ”Wrong. Your turn to drink.” He had sort of expected that she was going to go for that statement but honestly, it was a rather hard one for Snowflake, he could understand. Nevertheless, it was still a game and he wanted to see her drink and perhaps, even get tipsy after wondering what would it be like for such an emotionless person to be drunk.
Fri Sep 01, 2017 7:14 am
”Mostly classics. But, any book will do as long as they’re fun to read.” She spoke, her hands gesturing and making signs to make emphasis on her sentence.
Snowflake was quite doubtful of her own choice of decision and apparently, she was correct that her answer was wrong. It was unexpected, that King would be interested in becoming a wizard and perhaps, that was the reason why he decided to move to Fiore, or so she assumed. Nodding and accepting her own failure in the second round, she raised the cup to her lips and swallowed down the liquid within one single gulp. Though her expressions hardly showed anything, inside, a sense of regret washed over her body upon her agreement in this game. If she had known from the beginning that she was supposed to drink such horrible alcohol, she would not have accepted his challenge.
Acting as if nothing happened, she hesitantly placed the cup back onto the table and forced herself to move on with the game. This time she was not going to go easy on the man, since she does not want even another sip from that drink called vodka. ”Before I continue, you actually live in a house filled with maids and butlers? Do you live in a castle or something?” She wouldn’t be too surprised if King was a son of some wealthy man. He dresses nicely and he is from a different country, after all.
Sat Sep 02, 2017 12:45 pm
King contemplated on whether he should share his story with Snowflake but since he was aware that she is indeed, a nice person, he decided to do so, although just a hint of his history. ”Yes, I do live in a place like that. It’s not a castle, but more like a mansion.” He paused as memories of his hometown came flooding through his mind. Though he may not like his family, he actually enjoyed being in his country and now that he was reminded of it, there was an empty feeling in his chest. ”I don’t want to sound so boastful, but yes, my family is quite wealthy.” He added. King felt compelled to pour out his feelings and want to share his experiences back in his country with Snowflake as he felt that he could trust her, as infrequent as it may be.
Sat Sep 02, 2017 1:00 pm
There was solemn look on his face and for a brief moment, he seemed distant. There were probably many things that occurred to him before he moved to Fiore but Snowflake was not going to probe further unless he would share his stories. The young woman nodded, and for the first time in her life, she could share his pain and understood how he felt. It was hard for her to move on when the incident occurred to her family when she was a child but she has finally learnt to let things go for the better. The youth placed a reassuring hand on his shoulder without saying any other word. Sometimes, not saying anything was better than blurting something unnecessary.
”I have to go now, King. I don’t want to return home too late, now that I’m a bit tipsy. It was nice to meet you.”
Snowflake finished her glass of shot before pushing towards further into the counter so that the bartender would be able to collect it easily. With a gentle press of her cheek against his, she bid farewell to the man that accompanied her for the night and entertained her with drinking games. It had been a fun day, despite the fact that she was extremely exhausted since morning and silently wishing she would be able to meet him another time, Snowflake disappeared into the crowd that filled the bar through the rest of the long night.
Sat Sep 02, 2017 1:16 pm
”Well, I could send you home.” He stated, but Snowflake easily interrupted him and before he knew, he felt her warm and soft skin against his cheek. Stunned, King remained still, staring at the ground as if it was the most interesting thing ever as Snowflake bid farewell and meandered out of the bar. A wave of colour rushed his cheeks, unexpectedly. For someone who has been in contact with so much women, it was shocking for him to react that way to an action that barely meant anything. ”I hope we meet….” He mumbled to none other than himself and added, ”…again.”
