So tell the gun to sin Like an angel with the dirty wings Tainted by tastes of the soul This is another level Deep in | The winter chill embraced her as the large blue button down raged with the movement of the wind, only being tamed by the hem of the black jeans within which it was tucked. Blonde hair flew wildly as she kept a tight hold on the paper within her hands. Her lilac gaze glanced at the black writing on the withering paper once again before finally concluding that she had reached the correct destination. The Knight had been given the task that very morning to go help out the famous sorceress Merlin in a task that was unknown to her at that point in time. However, she felt a little uneasy, as if nervous. Perhaps it was because she would feel a tinge of nervousness at the fact that she were to meet such a renowned and well-known mage. From the mouths of gossipers and the idle chatter of citizens, she had come to know just how well respected this woman who happened to be her client was. However, heaving a sigh, she walked into the long open corridor that was connected to a staircase. As the hands of the wind could no longer reach her, she quickly tied her hair up into a ponytail while climbing up the flight of stairs where she would come face to face with a wooden door. Glancing around and noticing the scarcity of light, she narrowed her eyes in suspicion, wondering if she was at the right place. Her gaze flickered around, noticing the hint of light that escaped from the small gap between the door and the floor. Oh well, there was no better way of knowing the accuracy of her distraught sense of direction than to walk right in but of course, she couldn't do that. As reckless as she may be sometimes, she did prefer to keep the minimalistic level of politeness that one could offer. Knocking the door, she awaited a response. Only moments later, she could hear shuffling but her ears caught no sound of footsteps. However, the door opened without a person having to do it. Before her was a sight that left her pleasantly surprised. Books and papers levitating into the air a trail of mana was left behind on the door knob. In front of her stood a woman with beautiful raven hair and an aura that would leave an everlasting impression. "Come on in, I'm assuming you're the Rune Knight for the job." The woman said, turning around. In an instant, all the books fell onto the ground into a cluttered mess of study material and papers as the woman's expression turned into a rather cheeky one, "I'm sorry about that. Anyways, this is my study. You must know that there's the reason I called you here." The blonde simply nodded, seeing no reason to talk and let the sorceress explain what the task provided to her was; she apparently had to enchant an amulet. That was easier said than done. Looking around at the mess of books, she couldn't help but heave a sigh. Merlin walked towards the door as the Knight walked in, "Well, I should get going now. I'm leaving the task up to you." Right before she was about to leave, she said, "Oh and you won't be alone so don't worry." |
Enchanting The Amulet [Quest | Xandra & Phoebe]

That didn't mean that it was a good thing to do but she needed him later to go to Sin. She wanted to see where this nonsense had taken place. She turned the letter in her hand and put it in the purse that was next to her on the table. She had met Lady Merlin a few days ago, where she had helped with the delivery of an item and now she had a letter. She had not even told the Lady her address or well the place where she stayed but yet she seemed to know everything. Phoebe sighed and was half happy to have a request from the Lady Merlin but also, she didn't feel like doing anything. But she stood up, finished her hair in a braid by wrapping the hair tie around the last end and picked up her jacket to head out.
She owuld have to walk towards the tower again and wonder what this quest was about as it had not been a very clear description, just something necessary she had said. Phoebe shook her head, she would figure out once she was with the Lady. She entered the place and walked up the staircase, only to find the door open and no Lady Merlin but a blonde, Phoebe guessed about the same age as her and taller. Which happened easily to Phoebe, "Hello, ehm. I got a letter from Lady Merlin to help her on a quest. Have you seen her?" She had no idea who this person could be and if Merlin thought it to be funny to leave and hand her job to someone else because Phoebe didn't show up soon enough. Perhaps they would have the job together, Phoebe would have no problem with that. It was always interesting to meet more people and perhaps she could make good use of information and so on in this world with help from others. Persephone approved at that idea but she kept rather quiet, as she had done the last day with Victor. Perhaps she was seeing things again but it felt like a pattern now.

So tell the gun to sin Like an angel with the dirty wings Tainted by tastes of the soul This is another level Deep in | Placing both hands on her hips, she sighed as the lilac eyes skid across the floor that was covered in pieces of white paper, tomes and books. Tightly clutched in her right palm was an amulet that hung down her waist considering the position of her hand which she then raised, bringing the shining emerald amulet right within her line of sight. It was spectacularly beautiful. The blonde couldn't help but wonder the purpose of having to enchant such an ornament which gave off a surreal feeling. However, she also realized that she was in no position to be questioning the reason for the quest. Lady Merlin was a well respected mage. There was no reason for the Knight to worry about her intentions at all. Heaving yet another sigh, she decided to get to work until the person who was supposed to help her arrives. It was at that moment that the voice behind her attracted her attention, causing her turn her head without rotating her body completely. Capturing the amulet completely in her palm, she looked at the woman behind her. As she turned her body to face the slightly shorter woman, she spoke, "Oh, you're the one who's supposed to help? Lady Merlin just left." With a quick few steps, she stood before the woman, "We were both asked to help with the task." Opening her palm, she let the amulet hang from her fingers, "To enchant this amulet. I'm Xandra Queen by the way." She raised her free hand up, pushing it forth for a shake. It was perhaps best for her to get to know the person she was going to have to work together with for a short amount of time, but regardless, teamwork was somewhat necessary. The study itself was a relatively large room with shelves of books and study material. The brown colour of the wood contrasted against the dull light that entered through the window, revealing the cold blue sky outside. The blonde quote enjoyed the view. She thought to herself that she wouldn't mind if she had to spend some time in there. It would be rather relaxing but she couldn't laze around, especially not when there was someone there to jointly perform her task with. The Knight had an unusual habit of only conversing more often than usual when it was directly related to her work. Had the blonde met this woman elsewhere, she would perhaps not even attempt to initiate conversation. Regardless, this became a good opportunity for her to perhaps have a new friend. Whether the two walked down that road or not, only time could tell. Right now, they had more important issues to deal with. Although it was only morning, it was probably best for them to get this done as soon as possible. If the woman were to inquire further about the task, the blonde would give her an explanation, telling her everything that was originally told to her by Lady Merlin without any hesitation before walking back to look through the pile of book, "It seems that we have a lot of work to do." |

Phoebe her lilac eyes turned towards the amulet and looked at the pretty colour and glittering that it gave off and she nodded, "And for what purpose does it needs to be enchanted?" She looked back at the lady who introduced herself as Xandra Queen, "What a pretty name, I'm Phoebe Rainsworth." She said to return the favour of giving her name as well as lifting up her own hand to shake Xandra's. She wasn't sure why two people were necessary, but she wouldn't complain about it, perhaps it would be else too boring and it might be a difficult enchantment that it would be nice to have back up to read it correctly.
She looked around the room, where all the papers and books were spread over the whole room, she sighed slightly because it seemed like a lot of work. So she listened to the explanation of the enchantment and nodded as a reply to the part that they had some work to do, "Well thank god we are with the two of us." So she looked around the study, what kind of books would they need, it would have been nice if Merlin would have provided the books for them.

So tell the gun to sin Like an angel with the dirty wings Tainted by tastes of the soul This is another level Deep in | "Well, let's get started." She walked over to the pile of books and papers on the floor and began going through them, sincerely hoping that her partner here knew a lot more about tomes than she did as the blonde's knowledge was quite limited. Another information that had previously slipped the Knight's mind was that they were to look for a particular book which would list the materials they would need to perform the enchantment. With the two of them there, it shouldn't pose as much of a problem but the amount of books lying around was starting to give her a headache. "Ms.Merlin said to look for a certain book. It was entitled Enchantments for longevity and perfect health, if I recall correctly. She didn't really tell me the reason why she wanted to enchant the amulet but I'm guessing it's to give it to someone special." For a while, the only sound that would surrounded them was the commotion of flipping papers and falling hard-covered books unless Phoebe chose to say something but even the silence was rather calming, to the blonde at least. Approximately twenty minutes had passed until her eyes caught the sight of a book hidden underneath the pile of papers. She quickly rushed and pulled it out, causing the papers to fall into a messy pile all over the floor. Her eyes widened as she looked up at Phoebe, "Oops." Raising the book, she said, "But I found it." |

As Xandra mentioned the title, Phoebe nodded, "I wonder if it would be able to give someone a longer life as long as they were the enchantment." but would that make them the enchanter, she wasn't capable to do that, not even with Persephone her soul within her. "I agree it might be a nice present to receive and thus to give." But strange you didn't even take the time to make the present yourself, so how much did that person really mean to her. She didn't even feel the need to bring it up, to everyone their own right? So they had to find this book and Phoebe looked where Xandra started, so she would start at the exact opposite, the quicker they would find it probably, instead of looking at the same point over and over again.
Because of flipping through papers, pushing them aside, or objects as carefully as the raven haired mage could, she was getting slightly annoyed that they had not found the book yet. She didn't know what it was today, being so annoyed but it had them already taken fiftheen minutes! Couldn't Merlin if she wanted them to do something; put the book on her desk and let them finish her job. She couldn't imagine that the high mage wanted stranger to search through her stuff, what if they put something somewhere she wouldn't look for it again, or break one of these strange objects. She would cringe with the thought of that, now thank god she didn't own very special stuff and with that her clothing was the most and she was already used to Mary stealing it. She turned around quickly when her track of thoughts were disturbed by the sound of something falling, not loud, just papers. "Ah good, let me pick this up and we can read how to do this enchantment." she said with a smile as she hunched down to grab most of the papers that were within arm length of her. Curious to how this enchanment might work.

So tell the gun to sin Like an angel with the dirty wings Tainted by tastes of the soul This is another level Deep in | Hauling herself up on her own two feet, she used her free hand to dust off her clothes that were brimming with white chalk residue and specks of dust. Clutching the book, she sent a small smile towards her partner who began to clean up. The blonde was never one to dump the cleaning work on someone else especially if she was the one who made that mess. Quickly keeping the book on the wooden table, she bent down next to Phoebe and began collecting the papers into a neat pile. It would be a lot faster for them to get things done then. The habit that forced her into thought even during crucial times kicked it, diverting her mind towards the book that she had just picked up until she was thoughtlessly cleaning up the mess. She couldn't help but wonder if longevity was really the answer that everyone yearned for. It was no secret that there was many people in this world who try so desperately hard in order to live a longer life, be it through the attempt of achieving immortality or simply living a few years longer but to the blonde, it didn't really seem to be worth it. To her, a lifespan is the time granted to do whatever it is you wish to do. Some people manage to accomplish many things while others don't and perhaps, that was the most fun but frightening thing about life, you never know when it would end. However, regardless of her own opinions, she knew that it was possibly a great gift to give to someone, especially someone who was precious to you so she didn't say a word. The cleaning up finished faster than she thought. "Well then, I guess it's time to start the real work then." Walking over to the the table, she looked at Phoebe, "I sure hope that you know more about enchantments then I do." Opening the book, she placed it between herself and her partner. The old, brown pages were adorned with black ink that listed out the materials that they needed. Pulling the amulet out of the pocket she shoved it in, she laid it flat on the table. The materials that were required to perform the enchantment, as listed by the book, were all placed on the shelf that quietly stood at the corner of the room. It clearly stated to dowse the amulet into various liquids, the names of which made no sense the female only to later focus their magical energy on the object they wished to enchant. This was proving to be slightly more tougher than she was had expected but the blonde was never one to back out. After all, she was entrusted with the job and she doubted that her partner was any different. Although she was quite aware that the part about directing her magical energy may prove to be difficult as Raijin was always a handful, causing trouble more often than she would have wanted. |

Now that she looked at the book shortly that Xandra put down, the raven haired girl wondered what enternal life would mean. To a Goddess, one forgotten and left only like a fragment of what she had been, it didn't even seem to be fun anymore. So why would Phoebe want anything like that, it didn't make you invincible and you would have a very big weakspot, what if someone took the amulet away from you. She shouldn't think too much about it, it made Persephone not really happy either. Phoebe didn't ask much from Persephone but she always wondered what was really going on and at this point, perhaps if she had not been with someone else in the room, she would have asked. What was it like to be a Goddess and so on. What kind of effect, what kind of hazards, anything. Only thanks to Persephone she wasn't lonely anymore, she wasn't that easily hurt anymore and all that jazz.
When she made a new stack of the papers, taking the ones from Xandra, she placed them somewhere else, as they would need the table where Xandra had placed the book again to work on the enchantment. "I have experienced and worked on a couple," Phoebe said with a smile as she looked at the book, that sure looked old. Phoebe leaned a bit closer to read the ingredient list, "Let's first take everything we need." She said as she read that they would need a bowl, some mineral water and other things that were on the shelf close by, so Phoebe walked around the table to get it.
Persephone would be able to help and stop Phoebe if she would do something wrong considering the concoction. Although the book was already quite clear on what they should do and what not. She looked at Xandra, "It needs the enchantment that stands here, shall I say it?" If Xandra agreed, Phoebe would do so and else refrain from it. But after the enchantment it would be done and they could take the amulet out of the now mixed water and let it dry on the paper towels that she had placed already next to the bowl. All needed now was for Lady Merlin to see if it was any good.

So tell the gun to sin Like an angel with the dirty wings Tainted by tastes of the soul This is another level Deep in | Unbeknown to her was the world of enchantments as she had only lived a life that taught her things needed for survival. Although she was well aware of what it does, she had never seen it happen much before much less perform it herself. The blonde simply followed the instructions of her partner who actually looked like she knew what she was doing, as if she had done it multiple times and her answer proved to support that assumption. Running around and gathering the materials along with Phoebe, she watched as the raven haired woman laid the materials perfectly, knowing what to do so she merely followed the actions she witnessed. Her hands raised as her eyes glanced at the book which asked the two mages to induce a bit of energy into the amulet which she did attempt to do. Focusing her energy on the palm of her hands, she held it over the drowning amulet simply hoping that her friend, Raijin wouldn't go berserk and end up engulfing the amulet with some unneeded lightning. She had to control, even in the past she had always found Raijin to be a rather troublesome fellow who more often than not, causes trouble using her body. Heaving a sigh, she simply wished he would learn to live in harmony with her. Flashbacks of their previous moments together blazed before her eyes as she recalled the very first time she had become one with the thunder god. Her mind instantly wished to shut down the memory but alas, that's not what happened. Oh how she hated that moment where she felt rather helpless and vulnerable and ended up injuring someone who was so precious to her. However, she also knew that it was the reason she began to have the desire to grow stronger. If it wasn't for Raijin, she would have never been able to truly touch her own heart and reach the desire for power that crawled deep within her. If she had never ended up hurting the person who meant so much to her, she would have never had the urge to protect someone as she did now. She would never have reached the point where she was at today. Although it irked her quite a bit that she wasn't able to accomplish that all on her own, she knew that Raijin was the slight push that she had needed. Snapping herself out of her thoughts, she came to realize that they had in fact finished the enchantment. Lilac eyes watched in amazement as Phoebe pulled out the amulet which now gave off an even more magical and mystical feel to it. All they needed to do was wait for it to dry and give it to Lady Merlin for inspection. The question however was, where would they find her? It was as if fate decided to help them out when the Lady walked in straight through the doors, "Oh, Phoebe, I'm so glad you could come help. Are you guys done?" |

Now that the enchantment was done, they owuld have to find Lady Merlin, Phoebe her first guess would have been to go to the royal library or something but the door opened and as she twirled around to look at it, she recognized her name and the voice who said it out loud, Lady Merlin had entered herself. "We just finished." Phoebe answered glad to see that Lady Merlin remembered her name as she and Persephone had tried to make an impression on the Lady, "Interesting, how did the fusing of the magic go? No out loud discusions?" The lady asked with an amusing smile on her face and Phoebe looked shortly at Xandra as she didn't understand what she meant, "I'm glad that the divine beings around you, allowed me to make use of a bit of their magic capability." The advisor of the King mentioned with a slight wink to both girls before she walked towards her desk, "Now if you bothw ould be so kind to bring the amulet to Luciel." she took it from the paper towels to check and magically and suddenly have it in a wrapping paper with a nice red ribbon, "She is in the library." Phoebe nodded and took the gift from Lady Merlin again and waited before she was out of the room to ask Xandra, "What did she mean? Divine beings?" There was only one that she could imagine and that was Persephone but she had never told Lady Merlin that she had the Take Over magic.

So tell the gun to sin Like an angel with the dirty wings Tainted by tastes of the soul This is another level Deep in | It seemed as if fate had decided to go a little easy on them, making their task much simpler by bringing Lady merlin to them. Who knew how long the two women would have had to search otherwise. The blonde kept quite, only listening to the words of the famous sorceress and observing her movements with such fascination as she inspected the enchanted amulet and then neatly wrapped it up in a pleasantly beautiful little box. However, her words truly did catch her attention. What exactly did she mean by divine beings? For a second she was lost, confused by these words as she had specifically chosen to ignore Raijin's existence for the time being but alas, it seemed as if the very presence of his power within her persistently bombarded her head with thoughts. She simply watched as Phoebe grabbed the gift that was magically wrapped with a glistening silver paper and a red ribbon before following her out the door only to be hit with the question she wished herself wished to ask. "Ironically, I was going to ask you the same thing." It may be a possibility that she was referring to the thunder god whose power dwelled within her but even for a sorceress such as herself, it would have been impossible to decipher. However, if that were the case, it would mean that something similar loomed within Phoebe as well. Lilac eyes glanced at the raven haired women, hoping to learn something from her expression but it was of no avail, there was no way that she would find out without asking Phoebe directly. As they climbed down the stairs that connected the street to Lady Merlin's study, they soon arrived back within the crowded vicinity. Their destination was the library but she knew that her mind would be too preoccupied with wondering if Phoebe was in the same boat as her nor and perhaps, her partner in this task would be thinking the same thing, "I think it's best that we discuss this thing about divine beings after we've completed this job." Hoping that Pheobe would comply, the blonde would walk towards the library where they would arrive in approximately ten minutes. All they had to do was simply hand over the amulet to a girl named Luciel. The name itself rung a bell but the female couldn't find herself be able to recall that name anytime soon. Reaching the entrance of the familiar place, she would glance at Pheobe and simply follow her inside as she was the one held the amulet. The Knight didn't mind, the less she would have to converse, the better it would be for her. Her eyes glided around the place, landing on an abundance of rows of wooden shelves filled with books. A calm that surrounded the library was truly peaceful however, she realized that the place was too big and they didn't know what Luciel looked like. Leaning in slightly, she whispered, "Where are we going to find this Luciel girl?" However, it seemed as if it wasn't that hard after all. As they walked deeper into the library, she spotted a familiar girl with an eyepatch covering her right eyes. Recognition made way through her memories, "Oh, that's Luciel. Found her." She recalled having done a job for this girl quite a while back, when she last visited Crocus. Who would've thought they'd meet again? Regardless, this wasn't a reunion of two strangers. They would soon give the amulet to her and head out of the library. It seemed that the time for them to talk about what truly bothered them had come, "Hmm, regarding what Lady Merlin said, I think in my case she was referring to Raijin. He's a god who's magic I can take over." There was no need to mention that he often proved to be a nuisance. What would Phoebe say to that? Was she in the same boat or not? If she was, the blonde would love to know how. Maybe, they would form a deeper bond together through the help of these divine beings. But for the time being, they had to return to Lady Merlin to collect their reward. She truly wished to meet Phoebe again if she really proved to be a comrade in this situation. |
Tue Apr 10, 2018 7:42 am
"Yes, let's first bring this to Luciel." Who Phoebe had met about two times now and she hoped to find the strange blonde quickly as her curiousity was asking a lot from her. It wasn't that far a walk towards the library, only about ten minutes. But the Library was a big building belonging to the Royals but used by everybody as to inform people about the world. That's where she had met Luciel before or well where she had translated a letter for her and before that.. She clenched her jaw as considering the first job she had done for Luciel and the effect it had in the end. She would get shivers and goosebumps if she thought about that rat again but thank mostly of those emotions were overshadowed by a not-understanding of what happened after. So she basically forgot. She had been on her way to the library and realizing what kind of a gigantic big building that was, Phoebe also realized that finding one person in there was like trying to find a needle in a haystack. And because it could take a while, it allowed Phoebe to think of many things that Lady Merlin might have meant with the words; Divine beings. Divine beings mostly related to a God or Goddess most of the time, like with the Illumin and what she read about that, only out of interest.
Phoebe turned her face to look at Xandra, just at the moment that she wanted to look at her to see if she could see anything for example if Xandra seemed to be talking to someone in her mind, her partner whispered the question where they would find her, her refering to Luciel. While walking around, further into the library, the question (which Phoebe had shrugged off) was answered as Luciel was there. Phoebe handed the gift to Luciel mentioning it came from Lady Merlin before leaving her and the gift and thus the library.
Hopefully getting something but she didn't know how to start, afraid it was a mistake in her own mind as she had not told Lady Merlin, how would the enchantress know. But her mouth fell open as soon as Xandra dared to tell her, "So she did mean that, to me it would be Persephone, the Goddess whose Nature magic I can use, the same as you." It was very nice to know that there was someone who understood her in the ways of magic. Perhaps Xandra had been a user of the same magic though and not changed to the direct opposite of her magic capabily as Phoebe had done, but still it meant there was someone that understood. Someone that would be able to help instead of suggesting to try to take the soul out, which had made Persephone fight her but at the moment they seemed to be able to be side by side; playing the game of life.
They would head back in the mean time to Lady Merlin to get rewarded. The Enchantress didn't mention anything else right now, she was glad to hear and paid them barely looking up from the scroll that she was reading. It was a shame that they couldn't talk right now because unfortunately Phoebe had to go, "Let's meet again soon, I love to talk to you." Finally someone that might understood, but she shouldn't get her hopes up too high, it wouldn't be the first time nor the second that she would be left behind and probably forgotten.
