The waves looked like they were escaping the red ball that hung poised in the middle of the horizon that stretched at the far end of the beach. She slipped out of her shoes to feel the sand between her toes as she allowed herself the luxury of this stroll. The morning air had the nip of the autumn chill in it. She took a long pensive stroll and in the distance noticed a bunch of people working on reinforcing the docks. It looked like a lot had to be done and they didn't have enough man power. She yearned to get her hands dirty and help as a Knight in a more concrete manner.

Wishing to buy the lavender dress from Fernando, the swordsman ambushed the designer early in the morning when there were no assistants around. The designer was pleased to see him, but was curious as to why he was there. He assumed Haru was about to ask if he could hitch a ride back and offered it before the Knight could even speak. “Oh no! I think we’ll stay in Hargeon for a bit. I’m here to ask you for a favour,” he said, wondering if he was pushing the boundaries here. The designer, however, was eager to hear out what it was and when Haru asked if he could buy the dress, Fernando agreed almost immediately. He never thought the man was one to part with his collection and was surprised to not face any resistance. And to further add to the surprise, Fernando also guessed for whom he was buying the dress, leaving the Knight all red in his face.

She carried her footwear in her hand and took a rickety looking staircase up to the docks, dusting her self as he climbed. As she climbed the final step, she banged into someone. She looked up and noticed fine clothes, royal almost. She wasn't too fazed by them of course, given she'd spent all these days around fancy get ups. But he didn't flaunt it like the models did, he appeared as humble as any common man. It took her a moment to recognise him, but he was Hargeon's prince Reign. 'Oh!' was all she said. He apologised profusely, before mentioning that he needed help. He looked a little iffy about asking a petite girl like Akira, but didn't deny her offer.

Haru was on his way back to the quarters and was looking forward to gifting the dress to Akira. He was even considering asking her out on a date; finally act on the feelings that he had been harbouring and debating for so long. They were now Lieutenants and he had a sinking feeling that the duo was going to be separated to allow them to form their own squads or serve under a Captain. Haru suddenly felt the pressure to establish the link, or else he would have no reason to meet her, which scared him quite a bit.
As he walked along the road next to the beach, thinking and rehearsing how he was going to ask Akira, his eyes fell upon his partner working on a constructing a beachside restaurant with several others. For a moment, the healer thought his brain was playing tricks on him, but on a second closer look, he was sure it was Akira. A smile spread across his face as he walked down the slope and towards the restaurant. He hid the package under his large black cloak before approaching her. “Isn’t it your sleep time?” he asked, grinning.

'Tsuru!' she exclaimed with child like excitement. If he hadn't seen glimpses of it in the past, it wouldn't be entirely off for him to believe Akira was trying to train another personality within her. But, something about helping out in such a simple way, was endearing to her, especially because she noticed Reign working himself in the distance. So it felt like a noble task rather than just doing some labour for a quick buck from someone wealthy who thought it was OK to employ the Rune Knights for such petty work.
'Yes, yes it is, but then, I wasn't up at night, so... I got enough sleep.' she explained as she began carefully placing the bricks onto the cement. She then made one of those come hither motions with her hand, rather incessantly basically gesturing him to join her, akin to the way a child would ask a companion to join them in building a sand castle.

The healer sat across Akira, on the opposite side of the wall they were building, and reflected her grin. “Someone’s in a good mood. Is it the model thing? You plan on continuing that profession?” he asked half-jokingly, as he arranged the bricks over the cement Akira had plastered. Seeing that she was in a good mood, Haru thought it would be a great time to bring up the ‘date’ question. However, he was in a dilemma as he feared he would become the reason for her happy smile to disappear in case she wanted to say no. So, the healer chickened out and decided to ask later, giving himself the excuse that she wouldn’t be able to accept his gift since she was in the middle of masonry work.

They joked and teased one another as they work, she basked in the comfort she had with Tsuru again. Having her life threatened multiple times and then pulling of a stunning show had for the moment pushed away all the thoughts of the Phantom Lord girls. It had even taken the edge of the choices Akira made at the spring festival. She carefully avoided pondering on the past and invested herself as fully as she could in the present.
The sun crawled its way up the sky as they found reinforcing several walls and repairing the woodwork at the docks. There was quite a lot to be done, but with everyone working together, they finished a considerable bit of the renovations within the day. Reign collected everyone who had helped him and gave a heartwarming speech about taking responsibility together as citizens. He then offered free dinner and some payment for everyone's effort.

It was nice to spend a day with his partner, chatting and helping with the renovation. The simple and repetitive task was therapeutic after the long and tiring cases they had been working on every day. They worked through the morning, had lunch and continued through the afternoon, until the sun was about to set. After that, they all gathered at a large hall where Hargeon’s nobleman, Reign, thanked them for their work and encouraged them to continue their social work. Haru’s eyes were mostly glued to his partner throughout the day; so, he had completely missed Reign during the day. When he thought about it, he remembered seeing the man work along with them, but had just not registered that he was a nobleman.
Touched that the nobility had come to the field directly and worked along with the commoners, Haru walked up to Reign and shook his hand, appreciating the humility shown by him. “I wish there were more nobles like you,” he said. Reign smiled and nodded, thanking him, after which, he offered dinner to everyone who helped. Haru took a seat at the large hall along with his partner, and ate with the rest of the workers merrily.
