RingRequiem rushed out the door, "shit, shit, shit, shit! I totally overslept again!" Thankfully, her bag was already packed and she simply had to grab it and race to the stables. Her horse sat there waiting patiently for her to mount and ride, "hurry! We can't be late!" She bolted down the street form the Rune Knight barracks by the Cathedral to the gate. Without fanfare, she rode hard along the road.
It was easy to see that things were tense, refugees still fleeing the city, others trying to get behind the walls. These demon incursions would lead to massive destruction if left unchecked. Hell, even if they were kept in check, lots of people had died already. She let her mind wander as she watched the people pass by.
Astoria was a please looking town that clearly was being prepared for a potential attack. Orchidia hadn't had time to set up defenses, but from the looks of things, the people had learned their lesson. She hurried to the Rune Knight office and reported to the commander, "Requiem, ready for duty".
