She could remember a time she would happily get on her knees and pray to the gods for guidance, wisdom, and anything else she felt she was lacking. Those days were easy. Those days were longed for and it pained her heart to think of them. She was blind back then and she was in pure bliss because of it. Standing in this church only made her think of those days. She wanted to go back but of course that was impossible. Shifting in her seat she felt out of place here. There were some people scattered about but she could feel there eyes on her. Her presences wasn't a natural one and she didn't choose it to to be this way.

It didn't matter though and she knew nothing she could say would change whatever thoughts the people around her had. She heard that those who run the church do horrible things to people they feel aren't natural.. Using fear and the like to control the masses. It was unfortunate for them then that she came into this place. All she wanted to do was reflect on what was and maybe get some sort of guidance from the " gods " that had surely abandoned her.

Roaming the streets of Dahlia from his recent tasks, Shichiro wondered if there was anything he could do for fun around here. Even though it was technically daytime, Dahlia looks as if it was always in a perplexing state of cloudy and murky darkness. As if it were in eternal night all the time. Well, some people say that's just how the weather works around this part of Fiore, others say this town is cursed due to all the supernatural creatures that lurk around in plain sight. Heh, funny they should mentioned that seeing as Shichiro was now counted among there ranks. Placing his hands into his pockets, Shichiro had some time to kill before meeting a certain "vampire" to make sure everything went well with the ritual. Words of another vampire rang through his mind, clear as day, but he decided he would shove and bury those thoughts to the furthest corner of his mind. 

Continuing his aimless wandering, Shichiro came across an ominous looking church. He stared at it for a bit seeing as sermons were currently being held. It was quite funny that people believed and sort of higher power was watching the state this town was in and letting it continue like this. Maybe it was all a sick joke to somebody upstairs and they just wanted a few laughs at the misfortune of humans. Either way, Shichiro has never been inside of a church before and was rather curious on how sermons took place. Knowing he may or may not find it boring, Shichiro decided he would head into the church, and see what all the fuss was about. As soon as he got in, he could hear what sounds like the murmurs of prayers being offered up to the gods. Poor fools, Shichiro always thought there was a higher power but never relied on them for his own personal faults or problems.

People say that the gods worked in mysterious ways. It would be rare for them to speak directly to their subjects and instead they either bless them or curse them to show they are in fact as real as the air the mortal beings breath. Ylva didn't know whether she was being blessed or cursed most of the time but she figured it was a mixed bag if she started to believe there were gods. With all the bad things that's been happening and the lack of help she could only rely on the power of her magic to help her hang onto whatever belief she had.

A slight grumble in her stomach caused her to pull out a sandwich from he cloak that covered her body and overall hid her appearance. The sandwich was cured ham and aged cheese on a thick slice of rye bread and some mayo and lettuce. It was a nice wholesome sandwich, probably the best she ever had, only because she was hungry. Taking a bite of the sandwich she began to chew. It was a little on the dry side and so she took out a water sack filled with wine, which she quickly prayed over in order to give it that healthy boost of goodness. Takin a quick swig she was having a grand old time.

Twisting his waist from right to left and then to the right again, Kizmaru decided he would use this opportunity to limber up some more of his body rather than from just the shoulder rotations he did on his way here. To properly loosen up, he continued to pivot from right to left a few more times just to be certain. After that, he brought his left forearm towards the bicep of his right arm, curling his right over his left, giving it a few tugs while twisting his upper body slightly to the right in order to stretch. He repeated this process with his other arm, placing his right forearm onto his left bicep, curling around it with his left arm and giving it a few tugs with while twisting to the left. Continuing his routine stretching, he placed his left hand onto his temple, leaning his upper body to the right to stretch the left side of his upper body, bobbing at the sides a little to loosen the muscles surrounding his rib cage. 

He repeated this process for the right side of his body, placing his right hand onto his temple and leaning his upper body to the left to loosen his muscles on the other side of his rib cage, bobbing to the side. Once he was done with that exercise, he leaned his upper body forward in an attempt to touch his toes, straightening out his back and making it as limber as he could. He straightened his body up before leaning backwards as far as he could, bobbing as best as he could but not too much since he didn't want to leave any discomfort when trying to align his spine. He then looked around for an empty spot in the church to take seat to see what all the fuss was about before he spotted a familiar face.

The wine was great. It was so smooth and it complemented the sandwich really well. The people around her took note of her actions and they were probably hungry themselves. Ylva wasn't about to share her food with these miserable people who probably prayed to some pagan god. She knew about the church and religion of Fiore and was nearly tempted into praying to their god. It was really only when she saw what sort of destruction it was capable of that she realized that this was no god she wanted to pray too. Taking another bite of her sandwich she leaned back in her seat and wondered what sort of work these town had. She had known it wasn't a great place so she would probably be doing some really shade things for money while she was here.

At some point she realized that someone had sat down next to her. Looking over she nearly choked on her food but quickly swallowed it and took a swig of wine to push down the rest of the food. " Oh it's you. How have you been? And what are you doing here? You don't seem like the church going type. " A light giggle spilled from her, it was soft enough not to disturbed those around her but it could still be heard between the two of them.

Well, this was a surprise, Shichiro thought to himself. He didn't think she'd come to a dark town like this knowing full well the dangers that may or may not lurk around in the darkness. On the other hand though, considering the circumstance they had met under, maybe she WOULD be here, attempting to snuff out the forces "evil" every now and again. If she tried doing that everywhere she went, she'd most likely never leave Dahlia, let alone catch a break. Well, her reasons were her own as long as she doesn't spook half the town herself and causing an inconvenience. Shichiro continued to watch her as she was stuffing her face with food while most others around her prayed. He wasn't a religious man himself but he could have sworn that it was consider blasphemous to be dining in houses of divinity.  He figured maybe she was a devout herself and just came in here out of duty. Heck, Shichiro himself didn't know why he came in here, he was just bored.

The woman finally noticed his presence though and turned to greet him. He responded in kind along the lines of, "I've been uh, good. I guess. Wandering around, travelling the eastern part of Fiore, and yeah, i am definitely not the church going type. But on the other hand, I've never been to church so i figured i would give it a try once and see if i can find the miracles of the "Gods" for myself," a slight snarky tone tinged upon the end of his sentence as well as some quiet, bitter laughter. "Still going on with your monster hunting escapades and disturbing whole towns or are you finally relaxing? I'll admit it is strange to find you here but at the same time, not very much so with all the rumors going around about this place." A question Shichiro asked shortly after responding to hers, as well as a remark.

She took a few more bites, enjoying the savory sandwich as she listened to him speak. She remembered her first and only meeting with him until now. She even forgot his name but it was something she could hardly pronounce at the time. Though she did remember having placed an unneeded amount of fear in the area, something she has since learned how to control. With her mouth full of sandwich and with her turn to speak she quickly swigged some more wine, wiping her mouth before opening her mouth.

" That's good. Don't count of those miracles if you haven't been doing your due diligence and giving proper praise and such. Gods are fickle and jealous ya know. They don't just go dropping miracles  on anyone. " Another giggle another swig she offered up her water sack to her new found friend. If he took it she would smile and let him enjoy what she was, if he didn't she would just take another swig before speaking again. " Oh. I suppose you caught me at a difficult time.. I think I was just killing things in order to compensate for something else going on at the time.. I'm over it now though so I just follow the coin and do what I can to gain strength, no crazy goals or anything just working on me."

Though he had reunited with an acquaintance, Shichiro was feeling a bit restless. He was glad he met a familiar face but he was disappointed with how boring being in a house of divinity felt over all. All people seem to do was silently pray among family or themselves for whatever they seem to be longing for. His misconception made him think differently on what churches were actually like but in the end, he figured it must vary from place to place. Here, it just seems like people were mourning the dead rather than praising a divine being. But in central fiore, when he walked past cathedrals and other holy places, he could hear loud organ music and people joyously singing hymns and prayers. Sometimes he confused it for people throwing wild and crazy festivals. Maybe his first choice of church wasn't the best so he couldn't really feel anything. He decided after this experience was over and he concluded his business in Dahlia as a whole, he'd try one more time in a livelier area. 

Turning back to his female acquaintance, whose name escapes him at the moment, he decided to on the matter. "Yeah well, i had always figured the gods had played favorites which is why not everybody celebrates their existence. I don't need god given miracles anyway, i create my own. Still, i thought I'd give it a go and see what all the fuss was about. All i see, and smell, is desperation."  After that comment, he was apparently offered by her a beverage. He was really thirsty but he figured it wouldn't hurt to accept her generous offer. With that, he took the sack from her gently before taking a small sip before handing it back to her. Their conversation would continue, "I see, well, i guess that's nice to know. You're like me in a sense but even i don't think i could go out and exert power like that even if i had my own problems."

Finishing off the last bits of her food she let her thoughts wander for a minute. What would life be if everyone were human with no magical abilities to their name? Like how flipping wild right? And what if there were no gods? Just no otherworldly beings to meddle with the lives of mortal beings? She didn't know why she was getting caught up in the intricate thoughts of a world that could never actually be but she wasn't about to start bringing it up to the guy next to her. Turning her attention to him buy shifting her body in his direction and nodding where nods needed to be had, Ylva was interested in what he had to say. His last sentence struck a weird chord within her and she didn't know whether to feel embarrassed or offended.

"I wasn't exerting my power...You're making it sound like I was just having a temper tantrum or something. " Taking back her drink she downed the last bit of it before stuffing it back into her cloak. The spear she nearly died over was on the other side of her and she quickly grabbed it and stood up. " If anything I was..Just blowing off some steam. You wanna get out of here and go for a drink? Uh Its been awhile.. My name is Ylva. Yours? "

A sneer had appeared across Shichiro's face, now that she caught on to his sharp remarks. Although he was teasing her, it really did feel like she was just throwing a temper tantrum, in the middle of the night, in a very large and very secure city. All of those points and facts did not make Shichiro a very happy man but at least he got out of it unscathed that time. As much as he was up for a good fight, he didn't want to fight an army of Rune Knights in the middle of a city. He continued to sneer as he began to speak to her once more. "Yeah, well i can't deny that. You do resemble a small child when you're mad," Shichiro said, now muffling his chortles. He took a minute to turn away from her to place both his hands over his mouth, let it out as silently as he could before calming down and turning back to her, a tear falling down his cheek. 

He wiped it quickly with a finger before hearing the rest of her commentary after she had downed all of her drink. "Right, right. Blowing off steam. There's better ways to do that than randomly spooking entire towns but that's none of my business. And yeah, sure. Let's go grab something to eat, though i don't know many spots in this gloomy town. My name is Shichiro, in case you forgot. I'll admit, i didn't remember your name either."

She saw his sneer and returned a gentle smile. She could easily spear him in the chest and remove his guts and play in his entrails and then fuck his corpse.. But she wouldn't do any of that she would just agree that maybe she was acting like just a little bit of a child. " I wouldn't be surprised. We only met each other once and then agai- " She was quickly cut off by a man bursting through the church door. It startled her and she quickly brought her spear up in a defensive sort of pose. The guy looked young and well dressed and waving a bell in the air he began to speak

" HEAR YE HEAR YE THE KING HAS A GRAND BALL FOR ALL TO ATTEND. EVEN YOU CRIMINAL SCUM AND RELGIOUS NUTS CAN JOIN THE GRACIOUS FAVOR OUR KING HAS BLESSED US WITH. COME ENJOY THE GIFT TO BRING IN THE NEW YEAR. COME ON AND ALL TO CROCUS "

Ylva lowered her spear and looked over to Shichiro. Her face held a perplexed look and she shrugged. " Let's go to that instead.. Sounds like fun. Might be some entertainment and stuff.. Probably better food and drink there. " She led the way out of the church. If he came he came if he didn't she would still go.

His sneer subsided and he continued to listen to the woman until she was cut off by some random town crier that was announcing urgent news. "HEAR YE HEAR YE THE KING HAS A GRAND BALL FOR ALL TO ATTEND. EVEN YOU CRIMINAL SCUM AND RELGIOUS NUTS CAN JOIN THE GRACIOUS FAVOR OUR KING HAS BLESSED US WITH. COME ENJOY THE GIFT TO BRING IN THE NEW YEAR. COME ON AND ALL TO CROCUS" Well, it seems as if there will be a change in plans soon enough. He looked towards the crier, tilting his head before looking at Ylva wondering if they would changed plans, eat here first before attending or just outright going to the ball to enjoy themselves. In the end, it seems that Ylva decided she would just go to the bar for the food would most likely be better there as well as free. That was pretty convenient with them and he figured it wouldn't hurt to check it out.  "Yeah, sure. Let's go to that fancy ball then, hope the food over there will be good if its being prepared and served by royalty." And with that, Shichiro would place his hands into his pockets before jumping up and following her out of the church in preparation of travelling to Crocus.

[Exit.]
