This is where it would all begin. The Young and newly named Jarl of Skaal and ruler of Treerin village stood confidently. His shoulder sizzled as the ink from the Fairy Tail insignia finally vanished. The hooded fabric protected his skin from the eyes of those who would hope to catch him, while a cheap mask made of bone covered his face. This was going to be a rather quick job he thought. In the sky above him was Svartr, his ebony wyvern. The creature made no noise as she flew away. What she did when Vali wasn't with her was her business, the viking lord was just thankful to have her. Judging from how friendly Svartr was with other humans though, he figured humans weren't her prey. Hidden in the shadows of the forest, the Titan watched his enemies fearlessly. The mission was to find a particular prisoner. According to the files Priscilla brought to him months ago, a prisoner from Iceberg had been in this dungeon for years. The files also clarified that this was the last Icebergan prisoner who fought in what The government has called "The Pagan Massacre". The pagan massacre... he thought. "The glory that title must give the leaders of Fiore, oh how much I ache to slay the masters of this country." He knew his day was approaching. Whether he had the heart to put the lives off his people over the lives of innocent Fiorians was still a mystery to even himself. This was the first of many missions. With time, he would learn to accept the harsh reality of his mission. It was then only a matter of time before he rediscovered his love murder. With all the anger the Icebergan had built up, he felt it was necessary to release it all on his enemies. There was just no way that he could keep it in anymore. Icebergan Warriors put their lives on the line to protect this country...and for what? It has gotten Skaal nowhere. Vali was foolish to believe that he could trust anyone other than his own people. Fairy Tail was incapable of reciprocating the same loyalty he had given them- Aisha, Tomoe, even Sage had all abandoned him. It wasn't like they would have supported his journey for vengeance and so now he despised the entire country. Before barging into battle though, he scoped the area. There were archers on roof of the tower, scouting for any enemies. From this distance Val couldn't see how many there were. Luckily their flash lights revealed at least where ten of them were. If I close the distance fast enough from where the flashlights reach, then I should be able to snuff out the two guards in front of the door without being noticed. At most, I can clear is a distance of twenty-five meters... Vali stopped mid-thought. Normally he would have made sure not to kill anyone but for some reason he was feeling like...like an emperor. As if he was obligated to kill these people here just because they were on the opposing side. A few months ago his only objective was to blend in, have Fiore accept his people and then only when they were acknowledged would he avenge his brother. Who the fuck was he kidding? All this pent up rage he had. it was only a matter of time before he lost it. Since coming to Fiore he found himself fighting harder here than he did back him. He fought to protect both Fiore and Fairy Tail, as if that would really prevent the government from hurting his people. He was foolish for thinking there could be another way. He was foolish for believing that he could change the purpose of voyaging to this country. This place was toxic. His most-trustworthy friend betrayed him not even a month after arriving... His mother betrayed him only a month after that and now Sage was dead. That in itself was betrayal. Had he been so stupid to believe that such a warm-hearted warrior could hold his own? If only Val was there when it happened. With a nonchalant expression, Vali began to walk towards where the light from the flashlights reached. They were bright, but not brighter than sage's light. The winds howled as the trees whispered. The Gods were watching his every move. There was probably some sort of bet on his destiny too because the way things happened to him didn't make much sense any other way. As the titan moved forward he activated two speed enhancing techniques creating blue and yellow bolts of energy around him. He then stepped forward and closed a distance of 25 meters in a second, almost immediately appearing between the two guards guarding the entrance. Needless to say that at such an intense speed, his enemies couldn't react quick enough. Vali wanted to have some fun though. With his right hand he would draw his dagger, quickly slicing the neck of the guard on his right. Before the other guard could shout or react, the Desiertan Elf grabbed his neck with his left hand, squeezing his hardest. The Rune Knight's mouth opened. The Rune gasped for air, grunting and making little annoying sounds. The Jarl didn't feel bad. Just like his enemies felt nothing when they slaughtered his brother and his people. Val's eyes beneath the mask were wide. His mind was influenced by trauma, anger and confusion. He managed to convince himself that there were no innocent Rune Knights. He would go through anybody in order to avenge his brother and his people. "Shut up..." he whsipered to the Knight. Quickly Val lifted his hand before forcing his hand down his throat. The knight fought back but could not make a sound loud enough for anyone to hear him. Suddenly, the viking's hand grabbed ahold of something. "A fucking pawn." he delcared the Knight holding his trachea. Both guards were dead. Vali looked at their lifeless bodies for a moment. Only seconds after killing them, he felt bad. However, he felt bad because he enjoyed it... not because they were dead. He forgot what it felt like to kill. He was a fucking viking for Odin's sake, this was who he was; a killer. Quickly he broke out of his gaze and turned towards the large heavy-duty metal doors. When pushing or pulling didn't work he focused on his fist. First a magical circle was created above it, then when he punched the door, it exploded with a pink translucent energy. The sheer power of the spell was enough to break the door and wreak havoc from the inside. Vali watched for a split second as the 2 meter blast of energy traveled through the dungeon connecting with every knight in the way. Suddenly an alarm screamed. About forty Rune Knights stopped to glare at Val while an extra door slammed and sealed the entrance. If the Rune Knights caught him he would surely have to die.
