 Penumbral Guard is a highly organized and orderly, but citizen oriented guild based around the protection and development of others and the areas they protect. Its beginning was due to the need in the local areas for help after the assaults from Knights. Starting small in the city of Marigold, Penumbral Guard has been expanding quickly and will accept you if you truly are there for the right reasons and can be trusted. Do right by the people and those who lead you, and you will be rewarded and it will be reciprocated. "We must have enough strength for each other, and the people. Gaia is where we live and whom we protect."
 The Penumbral Guard operations are done in an ancient stone worked tower, which is home in the mountains near the outskirts of Marigold. It is well hidden within low-hanging clouds and hard to transverse terrain. The levels have many different structures and overhangs to them, each supporting the next with pure strength to hold past siege and age. The first floor is the main entrance and holding area. The second floor has the majority of the guilds rooms for lodging and support services. Visitors and diplomats often come here for talks and strategic meetings. The library which spirals through the center reaches far into the tallest portions of the building. Hidden underground and exceedingly well guarded is where the majority of the archives are stored, safe from most magic, and prying eyes of people who misuse.
 Aegis is a kind but ruthlessly protective individual, who carries the protection of not just those that he hold close, but the people around him as well. From his past and present, he knows all too well that power can corrupt, and is always wary of his actions and the effects there of. He has a personal objective that he must fulfill, or pain and suffering are what greet the people he cares most about. Using knowledge, tactics, and planning, he does the best a man can to secure a bright future. However, being a Lich of towering height and intimidating statue-like features, the general public would not take well to him as the leader of a newly formed guild claiming to be for the good of the people. Until the Penumbral Guard has reached a point of respect and trust from the people, the Joyan swordsman Tomoe Tanaka assumes the role of guild master. While Aegis strategically commands the guild's movements and goals in secret, Tomoe acts as the 'official' guild master in the light; much to his own regret and paranoia. Being the kind of person that despises being known in the public eye, Tomoe begrudgingly accepts his new and temporary position regardless for the sake of a dear friend.
