Gamemaster
The sun was high in the sky on the beautiful springtime morning, nary a cloud in sight of the magnificent Domus Flau: an arena as old as the capital city itself. Built at the summit of a nearby mountain the Domus had stood idle, only being used for the occasional fight between training mages looking to strengthen their own abilities. Never before has it been used for something as grand as the event today. The Grand Magic Games: a tournament featuring every guild in Fiore. A chance for every guild mage to showcase their abilities, and the strength of their guild. Every seat was occupied, as the public waited for the first fight to begin. The arena itself,  a circle of 100 meters diameter with marble flooring, was watched over by four warriors: Hercales, Shaka Zulu, Miyamoto Musashi and Beowulf. Four of the legendary Nine Heroes, each with their glorious weapon immortalised in stone beside them, eager to bare witness to the power of Fiore. Both contestants will be instructed to walk towards the center of the ring, stopping in their tracks once both are an equal distance from the center and 20m apart. The fight will then be started via the sound of a blast from the referee.

"The match between Vali Onfroy, Viking King of Advent World, and Tomoe Tanaka, guildmaster of Penumbral Guard, is about to begin. Between the warrior’s impressive katana and the Viking’s seemingly endless arsenal of spells, it’s easy to see why the stage is packed for this fight, and everyone is excited to see the outcome."

The crowd roared. Before they even knew who they'd be watching next, they cheered as if the show had already begun. Children, woman, men of all ages shapes and sizes sat in the audience agog to see blood and bone. Everyday Vali was becoming a bigger part of Fiorian society. The people of Oak city had accepted him and his people, though the rest of the world would still have a set idea of the Viking King.  Vali could not blame anyone for their negative opinions of him, he had done horrible things in Fiore- though nobody could tell you exactly what he did. People judged him because he was a viking. That person he had become, the person brimful of hate was no longer who he was, and that's part of the reason why he was here today. But what was the objective? Besides winning, what was he really seeking to gain? Why was he participating in Fiorian activities with honor, as if this wasn't the same country that murdered his brother. Besides volunteering to represent Advent World, he had another aim. He was going to meet the king.

The King...face to face. So, there was much to prove today. From behind the entrance of the arena, Vali made sure that his equipment was fixed. His necklace was under his shirt which was under his armor, specifically so his opponent couldn't see it and target it. His blade was blanketed by its sheath on his waist, his armor was fitted on his body. Now, it was time to enter the arena. Vali was the first to walk out. His opponent walked out after he did which meant that Vali would hit the 20-meter mark before he did. The arena was 100 meters in diameter. There was a shitload of space, which was actually what the werewolf preferred. Vali stopped at the twenty meters and spoke, while at the same time spreading his feet apart. His right leg an odd sum of inches behind his left. The Viking would be the first of the two to say a word. "Tomoe?" He asked, his left hand lazily rubbed his left temple right before his opponent reached the 20-meter mark.

The extremely familiar name brought back vivid memories. The last time he heard the name "Tomoe", he was a member of the Fairy Tail guild. During his time there, he was one of the leading forces alongside Tomoe. Now he was a guild master? Times have really changed. Still, Tomoe was his friend. He knew that Tomoe was a swordsman who didn't have his own magic- but that didn't mean he didn't have items that could. The seven-foot werewolf knew that this was the same person- it just had to be. Either way, he wasn't going to hold back, nor did he truly care about rekindling bonds. The Viking king was here to win for his guild, for his son, and for his Icebergan people who sat in the seats of the colosseum. The plan was to end this quickly. His senses were all tuned in from the moment he saw his opponent. His nose, his eyes, and his ears were focused. He was ready to react to any and everything. The battle would begin right when both the Viking and the guild master reached the 20-meter mark. The referee would sound a horn to signal the battle started.

Tomoe Tanaka
If someone had asked Tomoe to show his face in a public setting such as this to so many people a mere year ago, he would have of course refused. He had become wreathed in an obsession to serve someone, and while he still possessed that desire, wouldn't allow it to control him. Adrenaline coursed through the crimson rogue as he allowed the sunlight and Spring breeze to grace him, stepping out into the vast arena in which he would undergo a test of strength. There was of course no doubt in his mind as to his power, but a sense of what could be anxiety filled him regardless. His opponent was a man who he hadn't remembered the name of until mere months ago; Vali, a companion from his former days in the Fairy Tail guild. While they hadn't known each other for long, Tomoe admitted to a small fondness of the man. Vali was perceptive and determined, and while normally those were traits to be respected while on the same side, they would serve as barriers to be overcome when faced as an enemy.

As Tomoe approached his destination, he would meet eyes with his opponent. To the Joyan, Vali would appear exactly as his newly regained memory would remind him. However, the reverse would certainly not be true - for Tomoe had undergone a significant change in appearance since their last meeting, having taken up a different visage altogether. Not only was he one who bore burning sunset-orange eyes and fiery red hair, but he also appeared a couple of years younger and was also shorter than how Vali would have known him to be. Nevertheless, his nonchalant posture and the gait of his walk would give away that his personality was the same on the surface.

"Didn't think I'd meet ya again like this. How's it been goin'?", Tomoe boomed as he neared his starting position, ensuring that his gear was in place.

Heavy armor covered Tomoe's entire body, shrouding him in steel. A buckler dangled at his left hip loosely, and a golden blade was sheathed with an engraved scabbard on his back. Crystalline, emerald green earrings dangled from each ear that were obviously enchanted by magic at a glance - however, due to the helmet they were obscured at the current moment.

Checking to ensure these things while moving, Tomoe finally arrived at his designated position directly ahead of Vali, 20 meters away with his hand twitching in anticipation to grasp his weapon. While awaiting the gunshot, he crouched lower into a combat stance, placing his right foot in front of his left by a few centimeters and his eyes firmly locked on the foe before him.

"Whenever you're ready, we'll get this shitshow started. No personal feelings, bud.", Tomoe spoke one final time before the fight would begin, thoughts of what the new Vali would have in store racing through the Joyan's head.

It was the same Tomoe. He knew because the man spoke to him as if they knew each other. Tomoe looked different. His attire was kind of different, his build, yet his walk and his voice hardly changed. He had no words for Tomoe, at least not right now. Perhaps after the fight between them, they could catch up over a drink or something. He was interested in hearing his friend's story. Tomoe had a helmet, armor, and a weapon, all clearly visible. Each of his items looked well taken care of, but none of that fazed the young King. He was more concerned about Tomoe's new physical prowess. If he still couldn't use magic, Val would already have the advantage. The battle began right when both mages were 20 meters apart.

So, immediately after Tomoe halted in his tracks, crouching lower to take his stance, the battle sound blared. At the same exact time of the sound indicating the start of the battle, Vali's left hand- which had still been by his temple, simply and quickly dropped to the same level as his chest while already having a finger extended from rubbing his temple. His finger was pointed to Tomoe, specifically aiming for his chest. A magic circle would be created once he pointed, and a bullet would zoom at 30 m/s, immediately as the magic circle appeared. This happened in no more than a second, all while Tomoe was talking. Before he could even finish his entire sentence, the bullet would already be flying towards him at intense speeds. So fast, that he most likely wouldn't even be able to react properly.

Considering they were twenty meters away, the bullet would have reached Tomoe in less than a second. The bullet was timed so that it'd hit his armor and his helmet. Considering its size and power, it should have been enough to break both the armor and the helmet. His main concern though was the helmet. If he could expose his head, this battle would be over with sooner than later. When the bullet collided with Vali's opponent, not only would his helmet and armor suffer damage but his face would still suffer damage as well. Maybe it was enough to end the fight. Right now, he was just testing the waters, still holding his position, waiting for Tomoe to do something so that he could react properly.

"Aye." was all he would muster after. Eyes and senses still tuned in on his opponent just in case he didn't give in. It was important not to underestimate Tomoe. If he remembered correctly, the last time they fought Vali could have easily beat him. This time may have been different. Tomoe was never a pushover.

Acknowledging that the fight had begun, Tomoe's words were a way to merely throw off his opponent's tracks - but seeing Vali immediately point a finger at him, the Joyan having been observing his movements carefully before the fight despite his words, raised a hand out instinctively at the same time. The fact that Vali had done his motion without words already betrayed the fact that there would be an attack immediately following, and truth be told, Tomoe was eager to try out his new ability anyway.

Thus, even if the projectile's speed could not be avoided or reacted to, the casting motions of each individual simply needed to be matched close enough. In this case, Tomoe's casting motion of a simple hand pushed forward could be done as simply and as quickly as anything. A natural movement ingrained in humanity's primal desire to shield themselves from threats.

At the same time as the magic circle would appear for Vali's spell, a mist had surrounded Tomoe. The projectile would be unable to be reacted to, but with the protection of Malkuth's Empowerment, the warrior didn't need to fear such an attack. The barrier took the full force of the attack and maintained its projected state. With the defensive shroud around him, covering him entirely while still allowing him perfect vision, Tomoe Lunged forth twice towards Vali while activating his Nightwalker Aura which required no motions.

The Joyan would be upon Vali with a slash to his midsection in less than two seconds. In a little over a second before contact, Tomoe's aura of shadows would cause Vali to become half blind once entering a 5 meter range, and a successful hit to the man's body would deafen him in addition to the damage with a thunderous crash. Vali had established a dangerous precedent with the start of the battle: that speed would triumph, and that no games would be played between them. Tomoe was at an innate disadvantage with his inability to use proper magic, but nonetheless sought to make up the difference any way he could. He continued to observe Vali's motions and gestures like a hawk, knowing now that any minute detail could serve as the Joyan's undoing.

OOC:

Vali watched as everything unfolded. No emotion, no sense of obligation to the man in front of him. The only obligation he had was to his guild and his people. The only obligation he had was to himself. H was going to win by any means necessary, especially since he was sure his peers would win. The crowd was quiet, watching with anticipation- focused. This battle would be hard for them to keep up with since Vali's magic was activated on a whim, and Tomoe's speed was almost up to par. Really, The Viking's plan all along was to start with a bullet to his opponents' face, no matter who that would've been. He never imagined his first opponent would be an old friend. Two friends from a previous life, fighting for the sake of whatever mattered to them. Tomoe reacted to Vali's finger-pointing, but as Vali's finger pointed towards him, a magic circle would appear, and at the same time of the magic circle appearing, the bullet would have also been released.

The guild master of Penumbral Guard used the hand that hadn't been twitching for his sword. It was the opposite hand, the one by his side, the hand facing the ground. In a reaction to Vali pointing, Tomoe lifted his hand but by the time he'd lift his hand the bullet would have already crashed into him, full-on. Tomoe wouldn't even be able to activate the spell since he wouldn't have time to push his hand forward. after raising it. That was the thing about bullet magic, it was swift, dangerous and powerful. The two-meter bullet of darkness would reach him in no more than a second after Vali pointed. Mostly though, the reason why this bullet was so powerful was that Vali was a master of magic. He could make any copied ability stronger than the original. However, immediately after the bullet would have hit his old ally, Vali would release another bullet from the same exact finger towards Tomoe towards the same area. He aimed for it to hit a little above his chest, so that not only would it hit part of his armor, but his helmet as well. The impact from the previous bullet would be enough to throw him off for another bullet.

Vali would still remain in his position, still waiting for his opponent to be quick enough to react, dodge, block or something. If he had paid attention earlier, he would have used whatever spell he planned on using as Vali's hand lowered or at the very start of the battle when the battle horn blared, just like Vali had done. Instead, he waited until he saw Vali point. Vali was confident enough to see this battle end quickly. His goal was to meet the king.

Vali, post #2, you get to your required starting point for the thread and that's about it.

Tomoe, post #3, Tomoe reaches his destination after having responded to Vali, ensuring to specify that in his post. It is important to mention at this point that you're wielding neither your sword nor your buckler, as you have specified with the following.
Tomoe wrote:A buckler dangled at his left hip loosely, and a golden blade was sheathed with an engraved scabbard on his back.

Vali, post #4, Vali quickly touches his temple as he drops his body down low, immediately pointing his finger at Tomoe's center of gravity and firing an unreasonably massive magic bullet.

Tomoe, post #5, had begun moving his hand the same moment Vali began pointing. As Vali fires his spell, Tomoe activates his defense, thus nullifying the offensive spell Vali used. Tomoe then lunges forward, and at the start of his second lunge it seems he activates Nightwalker Aura. However, Tomoe had raised his bare hand at the beginning of the post. At no point in this post did he draw his weapon, or even mention it, instead only stating he "slashed at Vali". However, that would imply the weapon was in his hand, which it wasn't. Thus, all he is doing is slashing his hand in some weird motion, apparently going for hand-to-hand combat without drawing his sword or buckler.

Vali, post #6, attempts to call a hit, quoting Tomoe's previous post as reasoning. Specifically here:

Tomoe wrote:seeing Vali immediately point a finger at him, the Joyan having been observing his movements carefully before the fight despite his words, raised a hand out instinctively at the same time.

However, given the entire context of Tomoe's post, I believe this portion of the text is more telling:

Tomoe wrote:Thus, even if the projectile's speed could not be avoided or reacted to, the casting motions of each individual simply needed to be matched close enough. In this case, Tomoe's casting motion of a simple hand pushed forward could be done as simply and as quickly as anything. A natural movement ingrained in humanity's primal desire to shield themselves from threats.

He specifies he is matching Vali's actions. While Vali states that Tomoe reacted to the fact that his finger has already been pointed, the entirety of the post seems to imply that he is reacting to the act of Vali pointing his hand. Thus, while slightly slower than Vali, he definitely triggers his defense in time, protecting himself from the bullet. This does 2S rank damage to the Malkuth Empowerment. Vali then fires off another shot as Tomoe is charging forward to do his weaponless slash, dealing another S rank and shattering Maluth Empowerment before it gets a chance to regen, thus breaking the spell.

However, because of all this he ignored the fact that Tomoe was charging in to backhand his midsection, and though he was watching, he did nothing to react to that. So Tomoe is now right in front of Vali, and has successfully backhanded his armor for B rank damage.

So the current situation is Vali is now pointing at Tomoe pretty much point blank. Tomoe is right in front of Vali and just pimp smacked his armor. Neither one of them seem at all disturbed by this, since even though OOC it's not what you guys intended, IC they watched it all happen. This means Tomoe’s defensive spell is shattered, but his armor and helmet remain untouched. His weapon remains sheathed, and his buckler remains at his waist. Vali is also completely unharmed, though potentially offended that he just got bitchsmacked in a tournament.

Also, Vali, your mana is wrong. Werewolf makes all your spells cost +20% mana. Please make sure your next post reflects that. You're also currently half blind, due to Tomoe's other aura, so do with that what you will.

OOC:

In the heat of the moment, Tomoe had struck Vali's armor unarmed rather than with his blade. Not letting himself be deterred by this, knowing Vali wouldn't either for very long, Tomoe allowed no time to pause between this strike and his next. He had closed the distance, and Vali was well and deep within Nightwalker's passive aura rendering him half-blind. All pretenses of a joking atmosphere had vanished as the crowd went silent in a combination of confusion and anticipation to see how the next few seconds would play out now that the two opponents had entered melee with one another.

In a single motion immediately after his first strike, Tomoe unsheathed his sword and struck at Vali's chest with a slash going horizontally from right to left, while simultaneously dashing around to the man's right side and taking advantage of the partial obscurity to be out of the way of the man's deadly pointer finger. Both his attack and sidestep took place at the same time, a pairing of instinct-driven footwork and the trained hands of a warrior, aiming to cut through Vali's armor. The Joyan would appear as a nearly invisible blur, and as such his actions would be unclear as he performed them. A successful blow would almost undoubtedly shatter the armor and cut further into the flesh beneath while simultaneously deafening the man.

If Vali would attempt to move away and gain distance, Tomoe would Lunge after him closely behind, attempting to remove the pesky annoyance of protection that was Vali's breastplate once and for all. Tomoe's reaction to an attempt to flee would be precise, as only one of them possessed perfect vision with their eyes at the current moment.

Vali's attacks landed, but not the way he wanted them to. His bullets came at his opponent with intentions to kill, but Tomoe had been quick to defend himself. The bullets did nothing to the Warrior but instead destroyed his magical armor as he moved forward. Vali's last bullet would only work in shattering his opponents' aura of defense. And then... *BOOF*. Tomoe struck the Icebergan's armor in front of the entire country...in front of Fiorians... Everyone would most likely be in shock from just the sound if nothing else, but none of them would really be able to keep up. Still, it was embarrassing... and annoying. There was no reason to prolong this fight, not if his armor was going to be fucked up in front of everyone. Noel would probably talk about it, Kenzo would probably tease him. Finn would probably laugh about it too- oh, and Shichiro? There was no way Vali wouldn't hear the end of it. Shit, Juni might even make fun of him for it too. You never know with her. So yes, he was a little ticked off.

Once Tomoe's fist landed onto Vali's armor, and right as the guild master reached for his sword, The Viking used his already pointed hand to click his fingers and open the eye on his forehead- acts which happened instinctively at the same time. A red aura would engulf his entire body, releasing the rage of the first-ever Viking King. This was the Giant Desiertan's way of demanding respect as the Viking King- a king in his own right- even if that held no real weight in a land that wasn't Iceberg. Instantly when he clicked his fingers, a magic circle would appear directly above both fighters. As the magic circle appeared, droplets of fire fell upon everything within the range. Vali wasn't worried about how much damage it did to his armor at this point. Fuck the whole damn thing now, it was ruined. The young king also didn't care if his flaming rain destroyed Tomoe's armor or not. He'd destroy the fuck out of it if he had to.

Once Tomoe's hit landed and right when the guild master reached for his sword with both his hands, Vali reached for the hilt of his sword on his left side using his right hand, which was the opposite hand of the one he'd use to click his fingers though this would happen at the same moment he clicked his fingers. His right hand would move at the same time both of Tomoe's hands would move, both fighters aiming to grab their weapons. Vali knew that Tomoe wouldn't take a second for granted. He was no stranger to fighting after all, and he knew because he had fought him once. That was a time when both of them were weaker and on different paths. Perhaps their first fight foreshadowed this one. Though unlike Tomoe, Vali had very different abilities.

The Advent World mage had no intention of taking it easy on his former friend. As he reached for his own sword, the young King would dart forward. His right foot pushed him forward and when it did, he raised and bent his left leg aiming his knee towards his opponent. By the time Tomoe would pull his sword from its sheath, Vali's knee would already have hit his opponent's stomach area. Whether his armor had already been destroyed or not still didn't matter since Vali wasn't done with his attacks anyway. Right when Vali's knee connected with his opponent, he'd swiftly pull his blade out of its sheath, swinging it across Tomoe's neck for the blade to make a clean slice all in one motion to end the fight. Even if Vali's eyes had been slightly impaired completely disregarding his night-vision, combined with his nose and sense of where his opponent would be based on his attack, it hadn't affected him much.

The exchange of blows would take place in a short span of time the way only two experienced swordsmen could explain. Tomoe had no choice but to endure the rain of flames barraging the pair, committing to his attack and realizing that it would affect both of them. The Joyan would allow the momentum from Vali's knee strike to lower him as he swung his blade, crouched low like a beast as the Joyan's blade conveniently also passed the required motions of yet another spell that his weapon inherently possessed.

At the same moment as the pair's blades swung at one another, Tomoe expended mana to allow additional damage to guarantee the shattering of Vali's armor and more underneath. Lightning would run along the blade and impact Vali's body at the same time as the sword's cut itself, and it would assuredly shatter the armor and deal more damage beyond that as the combined damage of the sword and the lightning arc spell would strike swift and strong. Upon impact, Vali would feel his ears explode with noise as if a crash of thunder had erupted point-blank in his eardrums, deafening him.

The exchange was not without its demerits for the warrior as well, however. His armor was close to shattering, and he would not survive very long against Vali's assault unprotected - that much he knew for sure. Tomoe took advantage of his lowered beast-like posture, combined with the massive height difference between the two fighters with Tomoe's 5'9" to Vali's 7'0", as well as Vali's vision not being entirely perfect no matter by how little Nightwalker helped, to narrowly avoid the neck cut that the giant had seen fit to deliver. Instead, the blade would shatter the feebly held together helmet Tomoe wore, damaged by the flames and finished by the strike, and continue through to slash at his newly exposed left ear. Pain shot through him as blood ran down, being the first strike he could remember in a while to cause him to feel the urge to retreat.

With a Lunge and a grunt, Tomoe rocketed backwards 2 meters while still facing Vali, lunging his blade forward with his next casting motion as he did so and a crashing beam of lightning charging forth instantly afterwards. The beam was 3 meters wide and 3 meters tall, and at such a close distance it wouldn't be able to be reacted to with the wide and vast lightning beam hitting him almost instantly. Vali would be deafened from the prior strike with Kusanagi and still within the 5 meter range of Nightwalker, thus Tomoe would appear more obscured with his movements and unable to be heard. The Joyan would push past the pain to the best of his ability as warm fluid began trickling down his left side, keeping a hawk's eye trained on Vali and how he would continue to respond.

Due to 72hr, Vali's post is skipped, this rendering everything within Tomoe's post as impossible to alter.

As per the prior grading of this thread, which happened in private messages between myself and both parties but will be added here for future reference, the A rank offensive spell of Tomoe's never activated.

However, as he leaped backwards, his S rank spell did activate. While it is reduced by 1 rank due to the minor skill resistance of werewolves, that is another A rank damaged stacked on.

As Vali was already cut extremely deep in his chest due to the A rank slashing damage of the sword, and now tanked this additional damage that struck all over his body (but emphasized the damage on his chest beyond what it already is), I feel safe to call this fight.

Vali is bleeding internally, losing massive amounts of blood, and just had additional damage slammed into his already hindered torso. This would cause more damage all over, increase the bleeding to his chest, and even though the damage was scattered any prior fractures to his rib/sternum would be aggravated, likely causing broken bones and now the appearance of extra internal bleeding.

While Vali's constitution was not exhausted, and technically a "Vital" was not hit, enough concentrated damage has been dealt to an important part of the body causing external and internal wounds and profuse bleeding. Vali would bleed out in moments, his body going into shock to try and protect him from further damage, and the fight would be called.

Tomoe is the victor.

Tomoe sheathed his sword and made his exit from the arena, the fight having been called for a Penumbral Guard victory. The Joyan was curious as to the circumstances that brought Vali to this place, as well as whether he was even still in Fairy Tail. Regardless, those were the sorts of questions to be asked another time, in another place. As unfortunate as it was, Tomoe possessed no healing magic and thus could not offer his old guild mate any support in that regard. There were trained healing experts in the capital though, and the ronin was certain that one of them could see to it that the wounds would not last long or be serious in the long term.

What a day, Tomoe thought as he left the grand arena, eager to watch the remainder of the fights and take a seat.

At the first seat that he saw, the warrior claimed it as his own to revel in the festivities of such a grand affair, knowing he had done his part in it. It was a close match, and not one that Tomoe would forget any time soon. He had learned things about his own style and ways it could be tweaked in the future, as well as about how much he still had to work on. Taking a bash to the face was not something he was keen on, and even now his head ached and spun now that adrenaline had been removed from the equation. The fight had shown him that he was not the strongest around, nor was he even close. As a guild master he should be held to a higher standard, and in that regard he needed to grow even more. A warrior's journey was never over, ultimately.

"But I've done my part for now", Tomoe would mutter lowly, vocalizing a reply to his thoughts as his eyes fixated on the next match.

This fight was not something to gloat about or to brag to friends over drinks about - not to an opponent he respected, and certainly not in a fight in which it could easily have ended with the opposite result. Content with such things for now, however, Tomoe cheered on alongside the audience at the future matches as one of them.

And just as he expected, his hits connected - granted they didn't land the way he wanted them to. Every single one of them had an impact on this battle. His armor was destroyed, yet he had successfully managed to destroy his opponents armor. In fact, after the Hilt of Vali's blade hit Tomoe's head he could clearly see the man stumble backwards. This was probably the perfect time to strike- the perfect time to shoot him in the head and end it all but for some reason he could not. In the heat of the moment he froze. His body went stiff. His aura had been working to heal the damage across his chest, successfully clearing him of C rank damage but why couldn't he move? Then it happened. As his former friend had stumbled backwards, Vali's vision completely faded until all he could see was white. Then...he could hear a voice... a very familiar voice. This one voice was all it took to distract him from the battle and boom.

Just like that Tomoe had managed to strike him in the same spot he had struck him before, opening his eyes to bring him back to reality. The werewolf grunted and the entire crowd gasped in awe. It was a turn of events, to say the least. The young King had been winning and had been very confident about taking this one home. When the strike hit, he fell to his knees. It hurt like a bitch, but he would not vocalize his pain. In Iceberg it was taboo to cry in pain during defeat or else the gods would not allow you to enter Valhalla. Though he was far from death, he was true to himself. The Viking struggled to remain in the battle as he fell to his hands. Fuck he thought.

How could he have allowed this to happen? How could he lose when he so clearly had the upper hand. The Viking had kept his Aura activated trying his hardest to heal, alas his body could not keep up with the constant bleeding. After a few moments, he fell to the ground on his side with eyes wide open and the rest of his spells deactivated. His body could not move no matter how hard he tried. Literally, he was frozen. As his body rolled over to his back, medics hurried to his side and the battle was called. His eyes watched the clouds above him as he could no longer hear that distracting voice...the voice of his mother. Was that Tomoe's hidden ability? Had he been able to use some sort of illusory technique on the young noble? Either way, the warrior had successfully defeated the King- but he was lucky, and that's all he would get; A Lucky Win.

The crowd roared, cheering for Tomoe. Almost the whole Arena seemed to have wanted him to win. Vali's eyes scanned the arena as the medics picked him up and placed him on a carrier. He watched as they cheered and Tomoe basked in glory. Vali couldn't do it now, but he spat in his head towards the Fiorian people. The outcome of this match was exactly what the people had wanted. Who was Vali fooling? He could not live happily amongst Fiorians, especially not when they held so much animosity towards him. They hated him. As the medics carried him out, the people closest to the entrance of the Arena booed him. It was an embarrassing moment, a moment the Viking King would never forget, a moment that only brought back emotions he had managed to tuck away. Perhaps it was his mother's voice distracting him after all so that he could see the truth. He was only fooling himself.
