Another day, another hunt for a beast in Astera. Truly there must have been something going on right? From the looks of it, the port would have long been destroyed had it not been for the Advent World mercenary that had taken job after job without stopping to help with the high-level monsters that appeared. What the hell was Phoenix Feather doing either way? The blue haired man was definitely going to need to have a serious talk with Kazimir when the two of them met again in the future. ”Yo, you better do something about keeping your town safe y’know?” Or something along those lines. As the Bellan warrior made his way once again to the pier, he continued practicing his speech for when he met with the guild master again. However, he was sure it would need to be at a later date. Kenzo was on a rush to leave Port Astera by now, he had some pending business to do at another place.

Either way, Oak and Astera were quite close from one another, so there would be no problems for them to meet again in the future. It was unfortunate, but the captain had been really busy while he stayed at the port. They still had those beers pending.

After a while of walking, Kenzo finally made it to the harbor. Saying hello to the usual people, the male felt that he was starting to get better known there than on his hometown of Oak. He needed to come back soon before people forgot Oak was Advent World’s home. Either way, the male received once again a task from the old fisherman, and he made the short trip to Luc’s spot. As per usual, Kenzo joked a bit with him before borrowing his boat and leaving.

”Here we go again Kin” The winged lemur leaped out of his the mercenary’s shoulder and flew to one of the nearby islets. It was quite convenient that there were so many scattered around the seas of Port Astera. Kenzo’s job would have been many times harder if that had not been the case. Either way, this was all the Kaiju’s loss in the end. As Kin made his way through the air, the blue haired male rowed the rest of the way to land. Docking near a large rock, Kenzo grabbed the rope on board and tied Luc’s boat as best as he could. He had done good during the last quest, so he didn’t want to soil his track record by damaging it again. It was tiresome enough paying people to fix the stuff that he broke while on the job.

As he unsheathed Masamune with both hands, the blade shone as it came in contact with the sun. It was truly a magnificent large sword, leagues better than anything he had ever used in the past. As he remembered the day when it had come to his possession, he flashed a smile while he cracked his neck. ”All right then. Let’s do this.” Brandishing his sword at the two giant Kaiju, it would seem that they were able to understand his small mocking gesture. In an instant, the one at the left roared to the skies as a large magic circle formed above it. It was absurdly large, around 100 meters in diameter from what he could see. Strange blue markings began glowing all through the two sea beasts’ bodies, irradiating an alluring light that surrounded their limbs and torsos. It wasn’t hard to notice what was going on. ”Well damn… Didn’t know fish could buff themselves.”

Immediately, the speed with which both of them moved was considerably increased. Kenzo felt unsure for a moment whether he could deal with the two od them if they arrived together. However, one of the two broke formation and stayed back. It didn’t give Kenzo any time to feel puzzled though, since the beast turned its head to the sky and let out a battle cry while a white magic circle formed on its mouth. ”Wind huh?”

By now, the male was familiar with then different seals required for wind magic to be casted. Undoubtedly, the beast at the back had stayed to provide ranged support. However, Kenzo’s determination didn’t waver at all. Lunging forwards, the blue haired swordsman reached the vanguard Kaiju. Ever after obtaining Masamune, Kenzo wouldn’t admit that he had started to become sloppy. However, there was no denying that he had become a bit overconfident at least. That was the extent of his sword’s powers. As the beast slashed the air with its large paw and unto the ground, the male simply tilted his center of gravity to avoid the collision course as he continued running towards its leg as he delivered a powerful slash. Kenzo stood motionless for a second after, striking a cool pose to relish the moment when the beast cried in pain and collapsed in the floor. However, the heroic dreams of the man were shattered as he felt a sudden rush of pain as he began flying through the air. ”Huh? What the hell?!” It was as if a log had hit him in the spine. As the man twitched in pain and felt the dwarven armor shatter in pieces, he was able to take a look around to see the Kaiju completely fine. How was it possible it was unharmed?

Kenzo’s strike had not dealt any damage and instead, he had been hit by the powerful strike from the Kaiju’s tail. It had been a long time since he had lost his armor to an attack, normally holding in place against most things that were thrown his way. However, the swordsman didn’t have any time to keep thinking about such things since he was able to see the Kaiju throwing the wind spell at him. Trying to regain his balance in the air, Kenzo slashed last second through a huge tornado and managed to dispel it before it hit him while flying.

Without wasting a moment, Kenzo made use of the momentum and rolled in the air before putting all his strength into a powerful swing that cut through the first Kaiju’s neck as he fell to the ground. Two loud thuds were heard. The first was Kenzo’s body falling to the sand, pushing the air out of his lungs as he rolled over in pain. The second, was the head of the Kaiju. Barely missing the mercenary by a couple of meters, the beast’s body stood for a second before collapsing next to the severed head. The other monster was seemingly upset by its partner’s death. As he tried to regain his senses and stand up from the floor, he heard the enraged monster struggling to reach the coast. With each on going step, the sea crashed and waved uncontrollably. It was as if the tide of the sea had become completely irrelevant for the monster even if half his body was submerged underwater. As it ran, it started creating a new seal in front of it. Eventually, another huge tornado was fired off. Once again it was dispelled by the merc’s sword. ”I’m sick of this shit now”

The mercenary was now soaked in salty water, sand and monster blood. He had grown to learn that the latter in particular had quite a pungent smell and he was honestly getting fed up with it. ”Just get here so I can finally cut your head and leave this place for good you fucking lizard” He said as he spit a mouthful of blood. The combined damage from the Kaiju’s tail attack and falling to the ground from such height had took a toll on his body. If he was honest though, the blue haired male was way more annoyed by the sticky green and blue blood from the beast.

Soon enough, the second Kaiju reached the islet. The fight was quick. Kenzo had managed to tear open a hole on the beast’s belly. However, as the tissue separated and sapped the life out of the second monster, it also meant that the innards also fell to the ground. Kenzo as able to avoid them falling on top of him, but the stench was unbearable. However, it would seem that Kin was way more interested in something that he found inside, seeing that he instantly dived into the midst of the splatter. After a little of rummaging around, the tiny winged fella came out and flew to Kenzo, staining him with the horrid smell and the goo. However, Kin had once again worked his magic. A large diamond the size of his pal fell into Kenzo’s hand as it grumbled with his usual excited noises. Laughing at it, Kenzo praised the mammal. ”Yeah yeah, don’t worry. I’ll make sure to give you an extra serving of cookies once we’re back to the coast.”

After a while, Kenzo made it back to the coast as he dragged both heads with him.
