HomeYet again nothing seemed to happen... Or did something happen after all? The ghoulish woman was beginning to feel more light-headed by the moment. Like something was slowly seeping into her body through an unseen barrier. Something told her she had chosen poorly twice now... Since two of the buttons had betrayed her, only one option remained. Mumbling an inaudible prayer to her gods, she reached towards the final button. Some might say it was a little odd to pray to the god of death... But then again, who's to say she prayed for life? At the last moment, as if by some unseen intervention, her hand wavered and accidentally pressed the button labeled ‘High’ again.

Ring : Companion : No, no, no. She could smell it stronger now. Poison. She chose the wrong button. Was there even a right one? Or was this a game of chance? Was she really gambling her life right now? In a panic, her hand wavered over the buttons. In desperation to escape, she pushed one at random. Her hand landed on the high button this time. She wasn't sure what these buttons meant. Maybe an invisible number system? A dice roll like some sort of twisted Yahtzee game? Whatever it was, Rinni prayed to whatever gods were listening that she get out of this alive.

Modification : Nuala was not feeling well, but it was still bearable. At this rate hopefully if the Voidling kept playing safe, she would continue to survive, at least longer than the rest of them did. The Voidling knew by mow that everytime someone died, usually the person who was the mastermind behind all of this was happy enough to let them go and live for another day or so. But she didn‘t know if she would be that lucky again. Nuala decided to play safe, as the end was something she couldn‘t avoid anyways. The Voidling heaved a deep sigh and pressed down on the medium button for the third time. Hopefully the luck would be on her side again.

Pouch : More gambling, then, and we're losing words here. Masami didn't want to make too many risks and pressed the 'Medium' button instead. One batch of toxic gas is better than three gasses, right? Looks like Lady Luck is running out of lucks to give, who is she to choose which person to give luck to? But hey, this isn't so bad, right? At least we'll die from peaceful, poisonous gas, instead of watching ourselves become physically contaminated. Masami remembered the wild bloodhounds from before, and suddenly he was more grateful than ever. Then, he shrugged, giving up his will to... everything.

Oh fuck, oh fuck. Zane didn't like how that went. The button filled him up with even more gas than before. It was a bad idea. He wondered if this was really how he was meant to die. Shaking his head, Zane knew that he was going to find a way out of this. Someway, somehow, he was going to make this work. Firstly Zane wanted to know if the buttons did the same thing every time. Pressing the medium button once again, Zane felt another bit of gas, the smaller amount, creep in. He supposed that would stay the same. What about the rest, though? Would he still get another big load of it all? He was about to find out right now.

Alisa could feel the toxic gas slowly corroding away at her filter, and every last little second of hesitation, every moment wasted ate away at what little resistance it had. All too soon the corrosion would be eating away at her insides instead of the filter keeping it at bay. No going back now. It seemed as though hesitation costed her far more than simply hitting the wrong button, so once again she hit the middle button, hoping the safer option could possibly make up for that moment of hesitation.

Something was going wrong... Or horribly right, depending on one’s views. She didn’t quite understand what was going on, but she could feel death drawing closer. Pressing the wrong button enforced the creeping sensation. Hand shaking, she tried to reach for the one choice she hadn’t pressed yet. At this point it was merely morbid curiosity. What would happen...? Would it even matter...? Unfortunately the unseen killer was slowly building up power. Her weakened arm flopped to the side, missing its mark for a second time. It slapped against the ‘Low’ button barely hard enough to press it.

Playing safe had gotten her into less trouble than she had thought it would and it was a relief to her to know that being safe was a good option for her. Nuala had always been like this; the Voidling didn‘t take risks unless absolutely necessary and she thought that the safe way was often the quick and easy way. Nuala heaved a sigh and looked down at the buttons, uncertain as to which one she should pick. Medium again? Maybe she could afford to gamble a bit now and press high or low? The woman decided against it. She lowered her hand to the medium button and pressed down.

She wasn't sure how much gas had leaked into her mask but it felt like a lot. And still, she had to choose a button. What did these buttons even do? High, Medium, Low ... implied numbers .... or maybe the amount of gas released... but if that was the case, who the hell would choose high? It didn't add up, though, as Medium released very little gas compared to high and low. It must have been related to rolling random numbers and guessing what they'd be right? Well, here goes nothing. Her hand fell down onto the medium button.

That seemed to be better. While Zane still got a little bit of gas in his mask, it seemed like he wasn't getting nearly as much as he was before. Perhaps the winning strategy was just to press the medium button over and over again. Thinking that he would be best to go with the option that gave him the least amount of trouble in the long run, Zane would press on the medium button once again, hoping he'd have as good of luck as he did beforehand. Here's hoping he'd be able to make it out alive - he had came this far on the island, after all. Would certainly be quite the same if such a run ended right here and now.

Masami was starting to believe that it was more stressful to manage the amount of gas inside everyone's vessels compared to being stressed for his own life, if that even was a thing. He pressed the 'Medium' button this time, hoping that he'd get only one batch of toxic gas instead of three, just like how he hoped earlier, but things weren't going his way. Sixty-percent chance, please? Apparently, the same also works for others—being given what they hoped not to get—darned RNG.

Just about everybody else around her looked in just as pitiful a state as her, but it was hard to tell who exactly looked much worse for wear than all the others around them. Not that this particularly mattered too much. She could already smell the reeking gas, even through the filters, and the thing worse than the smell was the knowledge than before long, the filters would be letting through something far worse than just the smell. So as she pressed the middle button, she could only hope it would turn out better than last time.

Doesn't look like... This will end anytime soon.", heaved the sculptress, breathlessly as she pressed that middle button once again, feeling like she was no position to take any further risks or delays. This time, that hiss as she hit the button seemed comparatively less ominious than last time, evidencing that, if anything, there was a slightly smaller amount of extra gas now eating away at her filter. If she could do this for longer, there was some chance, however slight it might be, that she could potentially survive this. And so without hesitation, she slammed the middle button again, hoping to quickly reset whatever timer would let the gas flow freely into her tank if she let up for even a second.
