Wherever Maneki went, no matter how far he walks in town in search for a Fiorian-learning school, he could not find one, nor was there any available sub-forum for such a cause. Even with a "How to Speak Fiorian" book in Maneki's hands, flipped upside-down without Maneki's awareness and the first page starting at the back with no intention, Maneki ended up throwing the book behind him as he walked out of the library without saying a word. "Yep, I really can't understand a thing," he said with a smile on his face because he generally didn't care but, for the love of Illumin, we'll make it so Maneki learns how to speak the language of the gods in a decent way. "I know how to speak Fiorian, anyway!" boasts the cat who coughed by intention afterwards, and then skipping to a nearby (random) stranger and then tapping their shoulder. "Hehe, got any coins?" Maneki would ask in the Fiorian language; the cat with courage, but then was ignored and was told to go back home. That guy even called him a "kid," how rude! But that was alright; the day has just started and there was no way Maneki could go back to the Fairy Tail guild without learning anything. Even though that guild was kinda dead, Maneki was still willing to try and make things livelier just for the hell of it! They were feeding him properly, too, so he had to come back with something (that isn't stolen or anything). Right beside the rejected Maneki was a man that sold what seemed to be old newspaper. "Hey, man, you've got a lucky cat by your side so mind paying me if we get to sell all of these in one day?" The poor old man would look at the Nekomata with a confused look on his face, so the cat had started to hope that he said what he just said properly. "I'll take that as a yes," Maneki sat down right beside the old man, because silence means "yes," right? Maybe it's different here in Fiore, but that's how it usually goes. It took a while for the first customer to come by and purchase an old recycled newspaper (because Maneki begged them to), and it was mainly because of Maneki being an uncommon Nekomata that drew people in this small newspaper stall. After a while, the newspaper ran out, and Maneki's job as a lucky cat has finished. Of course, some charisma was also used to be able to sell everything... or maybe manipulation? No, that sounds a bit too mean; Maneki is a good cat! "Oh well, you don't have to pay me no more, old man," Maneki gave a thumbs up before leaving back to the Fairy Tail guild for a quick nap, leaving the old man without giving each other information about themselves; this is business as usual, but Maneki made it seem too awfully suspicious for normal business. Oh well, looks like he was still a lucky cat, after all. 509/500 招き |
