Weapon Mastery Regulations

Weapon Mastery

  • The Weapon Mastery system is, for most, a supplementary system. A vast majority of people within Fiore utilize magic to fight; however, there are some mages who wish to add extra utility to their kit, and there are individuals not capable of wielding magic. For these people, the Weapon Mastery System exists.

  • In order to level your weapon mastery, combat must be legitimate. Any suspicion of a scripted fight will have that fight, and the wordcount from it, nullified.

  • Fights may also be used for word count towards training.

  • In fights that wish to be used as one of the required wins, and not just for word count training, the user may not rely on their magic or companion at all. They may utilize their race bonuses, their class passives, their weapon, armor abilities, and spells- Just not their magic and companion. They also cannot receive any assistance from any other player.

Beginner

Congratulations, you are beginning to delve into the realm of your desired weapon. You know how to hold it. You know how to attack with it. You know how to block with it. The actual implementation, though, is limited. At this point, there's a chance you'd actually be better off just punching and kicking- At least then you know your limits. At this point, there will be a small reduction to your speed when it comes to actually moving your blade for either attack or defense. After all, you're awkward and new.
  • Requirements: None

  • Bonus: None

Novice

You kept with it? Good job. Didn't think you had it in you. You are now at the level of basic understanding of your desired weapon. Of course, you know how to hold it, attack with it, and block with it now. This is where things get interesting! You can now begin using advanced techniques regarding your weapons. You can parry with your blade, you can use your warhammer's momentum to your advantage. With this, you easily can toy with most beginners.

Requirements:
  • Battle: Two battles using their weapon against opponents who are D-Rank or higher, with at least one victory. The user may only battle the same opponent once per month.

  • Training: 5000 Words

Bonus:
  • Weapon Durability: +B-Rank

  • Staff & Shield Durability: +C-Rank

  • Melee Weapons: +5% Weapon Damage (Rounded Up)

  • Ranged Weapons: +1 D-Rank damage, +10 meter range increase on all Spells attached to Ranged Weapons.

Intermediate

You're skilled enough to walk into battle with confidence now. Your weapon is beginning to feel like it is truly yours, a friend that you've bonded with or a companion who has always been there. As far as sheer skill, you can dance around novices like it’s your job. Beginners? Come on, don’t waste your time. You can use more abilities, and hey, you might even be on the road to mastery?

Requirements:
  • Battle: Two more battles using their weapon against opponents who are C-Rank or higher, with at least one victory. The user may only battle the same opponent once per month.

  • Training: 10,000 Words

Bonus:
  • Weapon Durability: +A-Rank

  • Staff & Shield Durability: +B-Rank

  • Melee Weapons: +10% Weapon Damage (Rounded Up)

  • Ranged Weapons: +1 D-Rank damage, +20 meter range increase on all Spells attached to Ranged Weapons.

Master

You have done it. You see the peak of the mountain. You've made it. Your weapon is an extension of you, and being without makes you feel like you've lost a part of yourself. Intermediate seems so far away now- A distant memory, or an embarrassing afterthought.  Regardless of size, shape, or wielder- A sword is a sword. An axe is an axe. Other masters will be weary, because everyone knows that this is the epitome of your weapon- Right?

Requirements:
  • Battle: Two more battles using their weapon against opponents who are B-Rank or higher, with at least one victory. The user may only battle the same opponent once per month.

  • Training: 15,000 Words

Bonus:
  • Weapon Durability: +S-Rank

  • Staff & Shield Durability: +A-Rank

  • Melee Weapons: +20% Weapon Damage (Rounded Up)

  • Ranged Weapons:  +1 C-Rank damage, +30 meter range increase on all Spells attached to Ranged Weapons

Grandmaster

Grandmasters stand at the top of the mountain. They've gone beyond simply mastering their weapon, they've become a weapon. They are monsters, and they leave behind them a trail of rumors and stories. Grandmasters are where many would stop their climb but the most competitive weapon users always strive for something more. Those that can't satisfy their hunger to master their weapons, even more, can become a Legendary Master but there are only five Legendary Masters for each weapon-class.

Requirements:
  • Battle: Two more battles using their weapon against opponents who are A-Rank or higher, with at least one victory. The user may only battle the same opponent once per month.

  • Training: 20,000 Words

Bonus:
  • Weapon Durability: +2xS-Rank

  • Staff & Shield Durability: +S-Rank

  • Melee Weapons: +30% Weapon Damage (Rounded Up)

  • Ranged Weapons:  +1 B-Rank damage, +40 meter range increase on all Spells attached to Ranged Weapons

Legendary Master

Beyond a Grandmaster is a Legendary Master. They have perfected their art even more and can utilize their weapons even better. When a Legendary Master gets dropped from their position through defeat by a Grandmaster wielding the same weapon-type, they become a Grandmaster again themselves and the Grandmaster becomes the new Legendary Master. The defeated Legendary Master, who is now a Grandmaster, can challenge the Legendary Master again after 3 months.

Requirements:
  • Battle: Two more battles using their weapon against opponents who are S-Rank or higher, with at least one victory. The user may only battle the same opponent once per month.

  • Training: 25,000 Words

  • Challenge: In case there are already five Legendary Masters for the weapon type, the user can only become a Legendary Master by defeating a standing Legendary Master of their weapon type. Otherwise, they can claim mastery after completing the Battle and Training requirements.

Bonus:
  • Weapon Durability: +3xS-Rank

  • Staff & Shield Durability: +2xS-Rank

  • Melee Weapons: +40% Weapon Damage (Rounded Up)

  • Ranged Weapons:  +1 A-Rank damage, +50 meter range increase on all Spells attached to Ranged Weapons

God of War

There is only a single God of War for each Weapon-type. The Gods of War have transcended to the point no one thought was possible. They have taken their specific choice and transcended the boundaries of man. When a God of War gets dropped from their position through defeat by a Legendary Master wielding the same weapon-type, they become a Legendary Master themselves and the Legendary Master becomes the new God of War. The defeated God of War, who is now a Legendary Master, can challenge the new God of War again after 3 months. That is of course if they manage to remain a Legendary Master for three months without getting defeated out of their position by a Grandmaster. Gods of War have revolutionized the way they deal with their weapons.

Requirements:
  • Battle: The God of War is earned by challenging whoever the current God of War is. If you hit Legendary Master for your weapon type, and there is not currently a God of War, you attain it by default.

  • Class: The user must be an Adventurer.

  • Training: None.

  • Challenge: In case there is already a God of War for the weapon type, the user can only claim mastery by defeating the existing God of War. If not, then the first Legendary Master to finish the Battle and Training requirement becomes the God of War for that weapon type.

Bonus:
  • Weapon Durability: +4xS-Rank

  • Staff & Shield Durability: +3xS-Rank

  • Melee Weapons: +50% Weapon Damage (Rounded Up)

  • Ranged Weapons: +1 A-Rank damage, +50 meter range increase on all Spells attached to Ranged Weapons

  • God of War's Markshot (Ranged): Ranged Gods of War unlock a passive ability that allows them to recast any basic shot spell as long as they are on 0 cool-down in a post, when recasting said spell they will apply a +1 post cool-down onto said spell. Recast spells are impacted by modifiers including those from Weapon Mastery.

  • God of War's Insight (Melee): Melee Gods of War unlock a passive ability that allows them to generate a 3D mapping of their surroundings in their head. It covers a 25-meter radius around them allowing them to see everything going within that range and bypasses any anti-sensory effects. This effect persists even if the user is blinded whether physically or otherwise.

Adventurer Weapon Slots

General

  • Adventurers may purchase additional weapons for their weapon slot.

  • The number of additional weapon slots is based upon the highest rank of Weapon Mastery that the user has as opposed to the cumulative rank that the user has with their masteries overall.

  • The user does not have to manually draw out their additional weapons. We pretend that the weapons are safely stored on the user in a magical ring that does not exist in their profile.

  • The user may switch out weapons into their hands from this pocket-space once per turn. It is, therefore, not possible to switch weapons multiple times in a post.

  • The cooldowns attached to weapons do not continue to decrease when they are stored.

  • Nullfication cannot be used to stop the switching of weapons.

  • It doesn't matter what kind of weapons the user puts in their additional slots. Even if the main Weapon Mastery of the user is in Swords, they may still get a Dagger for their additional slot.

  • Should the user switch classes from Adventurer to a Magic Class, all the additional items will be sold back to the shop under the resell value.
