It was time to do actual work. It was time to make some actual pay. Those where the words Tempris kept telling herself as she sweated in a barrel. Apparently this place has been getting plagued by pirates thanks to the influence of more questionable guilds like Eternal Nightmare and Sleeping Calamity. It was funny cause she knew people in both guilds. They did not seem like the types of people who would inspire piracy but here she was, sweating in a barrel waiting to be picked up by pirates.

Tempris was dressed in a more sailor like uniform. She figure she could better play the part by wearing a white sailor's top with blue outlines and a navy blue skirt and no shoes cause apparently pirates did not wear shoes. It was due to some combination of the heat and making it easy to maneuver the boat but it was whatever.

What if it became too annoy or cumbersome, she had her key and would just change outfits but with how warm it was before she got inside the barrel and how hot it was inside the barrel, she was happy she dressed so lightly. She was able to more comfortably sit in his love without having to worry about falling asleep. She did not wear a hat or anything over her head. It was a habit she broke out of. Also, she kind of liked having her hair open and free. Though right now she had it tied in a pony tail to keep it out of the way while she was moving.

After what Tempris thought to be an hour, she felt herself suddenly get picked up. At first, it was a steady jump as if someone was walking. Then there was a loud thump which hurt her butt.

Then she could feel herself bobbing up and down. After about a minute, the girl realized she must be on the boat. Her plan was finally working. However, there was one small problem. Her stomach was turning. She could only assume that it was because she could not really see anything so her equilibrium was completely off. That was the word for it right. The girl did her best to change her position so she could more easily relax. However, it was pretty hard given she was stuck in the barrel. Her plan would not really get into gear until they were at see. I was easier to deal with sinners when they could not run away. She grinned, itching to release her whole magic all over these heretics. Even when she gets out though, she would need to do a couple things before she could actually purify their souls.

The first thing she would need to do is secure an escape route. That would be done by not looking too threatening at first. She needed the pirates to want to engage her and not flee. If they tried to flee, then she might not be able to use the emergency boat. She heard pirates who could not escape or who were escaping did that. After that, she would need to find the location of the treasure. Then she purge everyone and collect the treasure. Her plan should be full proof with no leaks or cracks in her logic.

After about an hour, she opened the barrel and looked around. She was inside of some room. It was dark and damped, though what was not damped when you were in a room at sea. Maybe if she was on one of those flying ships that Blue Pegasus the rooms could be a bit more dry.

There was a crack of light at the edge of the darkness but it did not really give any clue to where she was. While Tempris had a good idea on where she was, she still wanted to physically see to verify. She held out her hand and then concentrated on her magic. Mana flowed down her arm and produced a small white and blue holy flame of light. The room lit up in a warm glow showing many barrels, boxes, cracks, and a couple of chirping rats. Heretical creatures for sure but they were not her target. If she got what she wanted, the rats would get to feel the loving flames anyway.

The girl made her way to the edge of the room where she saw the light. It was a crooked door, which explained why there was any light coming through. Behind it she could only assume was the outside.

She leaned against the door and held her ear to its crusty and heretical wood. She could hear the many commands and laughs of a crew of men and woman. She could hear the active ocean splashing against the waves and boats. There was so much sin to cleanse. She began to think it was time to alter her own plan. She had her key after all. Tempris slightly opened the door and then stood in the darkness outside of the light. It was only for a brief moment that she would avoid his warmth but it was important that she did this. Her goal was to get someone to come in. Then she could beat up the person and steal their clothes. It was full proof like all her plans. So with a grin, she waited for someone to enter the room. The only question was, how long would it take?

She would get her answer soon enough as the sound of someone's footsteps started getting louder. The girl could only assume that someone finally noticed the door was slightly open thus had to investigate. Unfortunately for her the person, an older man's voice just questioned why the door was slightly open and then just closed it. There was no impulsiveness to enter or a single braincell to question the situation. In short, his stupid heretical brain saved him from butt whooping. It was so sad and infuriating. The girl could feel her magic itching to explode but she held her temper. After all, her plan could still work. She just had to reopen the door and hope someone with a brain would check it out. So she did.

She walked over to the door and then slightly opened it. This time she pulled the door open a inch or two more than last time.

The girl hid in the darkness once again, kept away from the warmth of the sun and his love. Once again, footsteps came to the room and questioned why the door was open. This person put more thought into it though but it was the wrong kind of thought. It was not an issue of the lock being broken or latch being rusted. When they tried to close the door, she realized she needed to do something more conspicuous. She went through many different ideas and plans but ultimately, she decided to do something dumb and simple. It had to be dumb since these pirates were all stupid. The girl opened her mouth and made an eep sound. This sparked some interest as the door stopped moving. There were a couple of grunts of confusion. So she knew she had someone's attention but what was the person going to do.

There was two options the man could take. He could call for help. He could enter. He could close the door. Well, technically that was three but she was only going to give him one. Tempris started whispering pretending to be a scared stowaway. She hoped that her being a girl and scared would make the man less worried. When the man chuckled, she knew she was right. This time her plan completely worked.

The man tried to pretend to be nice promising not to hurt her but once he was completely in the room, Tempris Kicked close the door and tackled the man to the ground. She immediately mounted him and revealed her magic. Then she asked about the treasure and location of the boats. Only then did she realize that she could just use her key to escape. It was pretty silly of her to forget such a thing.

The man was terrified after seeing the flame. He whispered her nickname and went into a whimpering fit. Tempris gave a quiet snicker adoring the recognition she was given. However, she still had a job to do and that started with the man giving her the location of the treasure. He tried to play dumb but a few punches to the noggin jogged the man's memory. He tried to state that the treasure was behind her in one of the barrels. Tempris proceeded to thank the man before decking him one more time in the face to knock him out. Then she broke all the barrels until she found a chest full of jewels.

With her mission completed, Tempris used her key to warp back to safety at the mainland only to realize that she forgot a very important step, purge the ship. The girl sighed knowing that next time she would have to be better with her plans. Still she did have some extra money since for some reason the treasure could never be found. At least that's what she told the client.
