Her ears heard a commotion, making her turn to see some adoption agency. Slowly, she turned to walk towards it as she saw a "Need Help" sign. Bright as can be. As she approached the portal she went inside and saw that it was a bright ass building. A bunch of animals roamed, some were getting cleaned, fed, and the whole kit. A Lich-like woman came forward, "Are you here to adopt or help?~", she asked sweetly. Most liches were known to be evil, so why was this one all goodie? Her eyes wandered for a moment and then looked at her. "I'll help adopt some, tell me about them..." she left off and then someone else has arrived.

Still, Melina was not here to reminisce about the past. There was an animal adoption centre she had noticed on more than one occasion during her time in Samhain. That was Melina’s goal. A goal she had already reached, proven by the fact she was standing in front of that very building currently. The Drider stretched her arms out, reaching upwards to her full height, even yawning a little as she did so. Ultimately, she would walk into the interior of the adoption centre, the smile on her face one that could only be described as gentle and neutral.
“Hello there. I heard you’re looking for some help with adoption?” Melina’s question was a simple one, a direct and transitory request to The Drider walked past the other woman, shooting them a soft smile, as she approached the counter. The person behind it seemed nice and, like every other resident of Samhain, was some sort of spooky creature. Yes. That was really the only category Melina could think of that summed them all up. Every one of the natives were related to creatures you would typically encounter in ghost stories and related media.

"These creatures are from Earthland and other realms that have been killed, died by abandonment or other horrible experiences that caused them to come here. We give them a second chance at life by bringing them back to life and then finding owners with trustful backgrounds," she then walked both of them to a door which led to a hall with many other doors. Mishiko stayed silent as she paid more attention to the tour than the fact that the other woman with her was a demi-human of a spider. Thankfully, she wasn't scared of spiders. She personally liked them. "So within this hall are a bunch of doors. Each one is a specific species of pets. You may do what you like, but don't mix them as some are predators to others -- not that they'd eat each other, but things happen," she gave a positive smile. "After all is done, you pay go out to walk them through the city to try to find them new owners, but make sure they will be good owners," she lastly said, but before leaving them, "Any questions?", she wondered as she flipped her imaginable hair.

“Ah, such a shame that the callousness of their owners befell these animals…..What a shame indeed…but it is of no consequence from now on, right? I firmly believe we shall find them a good home today.” Melina’s voice petered out, turning into a tone of musing as she pondered something. Adopting animals that had been abandoned to die, left behind or just plain killed…hmmm….it was a noble cause indeed, one that Melina found herself rather partial to. Maybe she should adopt one herself. Her apartment did allow for pets after all.
“You have predator and prey species? I trust you’ve got a list of which ones to keep separate?” Melina asked her innocuous question, following after the Lich as she led them to the hall, as her eight eyes scanned the many many doors. The Drider was still plagued with curiosity though. Just what sort of animals resided here? Undead definitely but would they simply be the ghosts of animals? Their bodies having risen from their graves and shaken the dirt from their bones? Or…other things? So many questions…and hopefully, soon to be equally as many answers.

Mishiko was now left with this spider woman. "I suppose we should get started," Mishiko muttered and sighed. Her head turned to look at the woman and then towards the doors. "I will start on this room since many others are going to the others. Looks like the less 'aggressive' creatures are being chosen by the workers," she spoke normally. "They're only aggressive because they're scared and trying to survive..." she muttered quietly before opening the door to reveal several different predators. Her eyes looked at the many creatures. She could see they were in their defensive position because no one has checked on them, fed them or even gave them a bath. They probably lack love.

“Hmm…indeed.” Melina yawned sleepily, stretching her arms out, shaking off the sluggish lack of energy that had begun to cling to her form. Passivity tended to do that to her but now that she was faced with such a wide variety of animals, having followed Mishiko into the room, she was far more awake. Still, it did not answer the question of just how she was going to handle all these animals. The moment Melina and Mishiko walked into the room, they were met with hostility. It was almost instantaneously really, concerningly so perhaps.
The Hellhounds formed into a protective circle, the pack linking their backs together so that not a single member could be approached from behind. The cats? Well the cats just did what cats do and namely ran off, scrambling up curtains or hiding beneath furniture. The Barghest, the largest of all the canine creatures here, simply barked and growled at these intruders while also protectively hiding a half chewed bone beneath its body. But where were those skeletal dinosauria the list had mentioned…?
“So, how do you want to handle this?” Melina asked, already having an idea of using meat to placate the Hellhounds and offering the big pitch black beast that was the Barghest a replacement bone, or just something to otherwise lure them out.

She went to grab the bag and opened it to reveal some grassy looking contents. She took it out and approached the climbing obstacles to sprinkle it everywhere. Out of no where the cats start coming out and smell the areas that she sprinkled the stuff on. Loudly, they purred as all different kinds of felines started to circle her. Mishiko didn't fear death so it didn't bother her one bit. "You like that stuff, huh?", she teased them. The put her hand in the bag and smelled it herself, making them watch her with tilted heads.
"I can see why," she had her own way of being soft and nice, with a little humor even if her tone made her sound like a ghostly seductress.

The Drider was not gone for long, mind you. She soon returned with…meat. Lots of meat. Yep. They always said the way to one’s heart was through the stomach. It was an idea Melina hoped would apply to animals and the beasts of the otherworlds as much as it did to the denizens of Earthland. The Drider slowly crept towards the defensive pack of Hellhounds, taking slow and careful steps, as she reached into the carrier bag of raw meat.
The moment she threw the meat was met with an immediate response. The instant it landed on the ground before the Hellhounds, the entire pack dived on it, tearing and biting off chunks of bloody meat. That alone, surprisingly, seemed to be enough to get them to calm down. They relaxed, focusing upon the meat, and that gave Melina the chance to get a little bit closer and sit down near them. She lowered herself to the ground, folded her legs up beneath her, and just sat nearby. The Hellhounds swiftly finished the first steal and then turned to Melina, one of them even walking over and head butting her arm.
“Still hungry, huh?” Another steak was provided and it, like the first, was swiftly devoured. A third and a fourth met the same fate but by the time that was eaten the Hellhounds seemed a lot happier. Happy enough to willingly nap, with a handful of their number deciding to nap near the Drider at that. Well that was successful. Now she just needed to get them leashed for a walk and, maybe, handle the Barghest…somehow.

She had to be careful of it as she then grabbed the magical collars and got them to calm with the cat nip. Next, she led them to the rooms and turned on the water, got wet even with them. They were at first getting aggressive, but then was confused to see Mishiko getting wet too. "Yea, yea, I could care less. We have preparations to do," she reported to them as they then allow her to bathe them. She got busy with scrubbing nice scenting shampoo for animals and let the water drip on hers and their bodies and clothes. It was quite the party as the water finally shut off the then auto dry them all, including herself.

“Hmmm okay! Who wants to go for a walk?” Of course the Hellhounds hadn’t reacted to the Drider’s question. They had just sat there, rolling about and playing with each other, ignoring Melina until….a sudden squeaking noise perked their ears up. Their attention suddenly snapped back to Melina, focusing on the squeaky toys and balls in her hands with an obsessive degree of concentration. Yet, while one may have expected the Hellhounds to immediately run over for play time, what instead happened was Melina found herself knocked to the ground.
The Bargehisrt, having been sulking and brooding in a corner, had barreled into the Drider, sending her stumbling onto her back and began to growl angrily. Their lips were pulled back into an enraged snarl as their head began to pull back, the mouth of razor sharp teeth exposed. They lunged forward suddenly, almost as if they were going to tear Melina’s throat out, but instead just smacked the squeaky bone toy from her grip, snatching it up before running back off to the corner. Well. Okay. Melina, confused understandably, pulled herself back to her feet.
“Well…I guess we can leave him here then? I’ll go take these guys for a walk and come back to see how you’re doing.” Melina scooped up the leashes of the Hellhounds, their number having backed off far away from the Barghest, and whistled to them. Now surprisingly docile, the Hellhounds all came over and took sitting positions by the Drider.

The large door in the room opened up after finding the button. Each of them was pawing at each other as if they were playing. "Let us go,~" she purred at them with her ghostly soft voice. The followed out the door as they strut their stuff. Some people became curious as they gathered to ask questions about it. Some little girl named Juju came by and asked about what they ate, and she gave them a paper with all the information. "Do you have a nice home, space enough for them?", Mishiko wondered as she spoke to them.
She wondered how the spider was doing with the hounds. As the girl was answering the questions she nodded to her as she found out the girl actually has a large house that she and her mother owns. "Alright, just go inside and you can spend your time with them. I hope you have a happy adoption," she turned to the feline and started to pet them. She frowned as she got attached to them so quickly. She had Ohta though and they wouldn't be happy to have competition. After a few more adoptions, they went back with the news that four of them were adopted and the others were a 'maybe'.

In fact, they were so very well behaved that Melina even managed to do a bit of advertisement. A few of the local kids were very enthralled to pet such fluffy and well behaved dogs, a fact that allowed Melina to mention a little bit about the adoption centre and even hand out some fliers to those truly keen on bringing a new member into their family. That was why, when Melina returned, she was both satisfied and rather exhausted. Satisfied because she felt as if she had done a good thing today but tired from all the walking and talking. It was rather difficult work selling things after all.
“Ahhh~ Mishikoooo~ How were the little cats? Well behaved I hope?” Whatever follow up conversation happened, if any, would most likely be short lived. It was rather late and the adoption centre was starting to close up for the night. That meant Melina and Mishiko would probably be thanked for their help and most likely be expected to leave…yet before going, Melina decided to actually adopt that Bargehist from before. A little difficult to get them home perhaps but once home, they seemed surprisingly docile and even used to Melina, if how they had licked her hand and happily napped at the foot of her bed was any indicator. Maybe that was just due to them having taken their favourite squeaky toy home with them though.
