ManaHikaru packed early for the next morning. They had enough money saved to catch a carriage to Era thanks to Hikari's skillful puppy eyes. It didn't take much for someone to stop and give them a discount for their troubles. Everyone was mad at Hikaru except Hikari and Ren due to them being too young to understand. Celest and Fin tried reasoning with him, but he was not going to hear it. He knew what was best for them and that was that.
The demi-human argued until Ren cried and Hikari told them to shut up. She was tired of the constistant fighting amongst her older siblings. Ren was too upset for Hikari alone to calm him down. Akwardly, Hikaru patted his head gently, which seemed to work. Everyone could tell he was a little bit outside his comfort zone. The young boy took a few deep staggered breaths and held his older brother's hand with his small ones. For a moment, Hikaru paused staring at his little brother. Something inside of him clicked seeing how his younger brother's eyes stare up at him. "Big brother...head scratches?"
Hikaru blinked. "Uh sure?"
They made it to Era without a problem.
