This island chain was different than everywhere he had been thus far; it was secluded. Tucked away from the world and at the same time? It had the lively energy of people, the gentle caress of their buildings but the soft influence of nature never seemed to abate. It was all around him and it was as though the people here lived in harmony with the islands rather than overbearing and bleeding it dry. He felt like he could talk to the people here; felt like the fish and the animals were just as likely to spring out of the water to tell them about their days as the people here were. They were charming, lively, and friendly. His strange appearance only gave them a second pause before they too shared his smile. They were physical, showing him around, showing him what they wanted him to see. While he didn’t speak their language they were so kind and understanding. It burned in his heart and made him want to sing; but that would maybe be a poor choice as they weren’t staying in one place. The day edged along and he was eventually left to his own devices on the docks, waving goodbye to the people that had been so kind to him. Sitting on the pier and swinging his feet so close to the water that his claws were dragging along the surface he could feel the music of the area more acutely than before. The people here really did do a marvelous job of showing him around for a good chunk of the day. Drawing in a soft breath he’d start to sing along with that music, pulling in the sensations he felt from around him. The lively nature of the people, the understanding of the animals, how the city itself felt. He could even tell that the rocks while submerged were happy to be here. Well they were happy to just be anywhere and just be in general but he could feel the happiness of this place practically bubbling to the surface. People were genuinely glad to be in these islands. His song attracted some onlookers from time to time on the human half, but he had a few schools of fish swimming underneath his portion of the docks. A few curious dolphins here or there would make their appearance if not for a few moments. He didn’t seem to mind the visitors or the fish or the people. He just sang to his heart's content. The very mana and energy of this place told him the stories of their struggles from before but that was a soft undertone compared to the overwhelming happy nature of this place. It was peaceful. As was he. |
Song of the Sea [Alisa]

Alisa will never get enough of this~... With Fiore locked under the fierce, unrelenting grip of winter, people often felt tempted by vacations to warmer weathers, and Alisa was no exception. Even as a young woman of Icebergian descent, some side of her still clamoured for the sizzling heat of summer, warm sunbeams shining down from above, and clear, deep blue waters all but begging you to dive right in. So here she was, on the other side of the world, clad in nothing but a breezing white sundress, damp and hugging her curvaceous frame, clinging to her smooth, pale skin, yet glistening with droplets of sweat and salty droplets of seawater.
"Mmmm, if this keeps up... I won't want to come back Fiore~...", she all but purred, letting out a heavy, satisfied sigh as whatever lingering tension seeped from her body, her full bust rising and falling as she rose her arms skywards, interacing her fingers as she stretched her arms up, right as she started climbing the wooden stairway up from the beach back to the pier.
She could never get enough of Luluhawa. The island was always so vibrant, lands of always summer, teeming with life, bustling with activity. Hargeon was somewhat similar, but not to the same magnitude. A remote island like this, untouched by any grand civilization, full of people living a simpler life in harmony with nature. And, well, the absolute lack of any proper winter definitely helped. Granted, it wasn't quite as easy a place to meet new people like the bustling metropolis of Hargeon, but... Every now and then you met somebody who took your breath away. And it happened just heard a mysterious, melodious singing voice. A smooth, vibrant baritone that left her skin tingling as she climbed up the stairway with a slow, elegant sway to her wide, womanly hips, the loose flowing fabric of her dress fluttering with every step:
"Oh dear~... Whoever might that be?", she mused a sshe finally reached the pier and looked towards the direction of the voice. Her sandals clacked against the wooden foorboards as she followed the sound like a sailor lulled by the siren's song, idly brushing her long, flowing black hair behind her ear, then adjusting the spaghetti strap of her dress over her shoulder just as it started drifting back down, making herself presentable before she came face to face with a tall, towering demi human, a man of striking golden colours, all but glimmering under the sun's rays as they beamed off the stylish ring like ornaments the man had hanging behind him.
Alisa had met plenty of demi humans, but he was by far the most beautiful she'd ever laid eyes on, and she couldn't help but linger among the onlookers, utterly transfixed as she listened to his song. Not about to interrupt him, Alisa would listen quietly, speaking up only when he finished:
"That's a beautiful song~...", she praised at last, her plush, pale pink lips widening as she walked up beside him, hand on the railing, looking out at a the vast blue ocean on front of them, "Where did you learn it?"

It seemed like hours, days, months, years and even centuries had passed to those that listened. A tale that was as old as time but passionate and happy. There was an utter love from this place to and from it’s people that resonated so firmly here that it was hard not to get captured by the music of the land. The gathering of people that were transfixed by his song eventually waned when it ended. His warmth and happiness was worked into the song too; worked into the ending and he’d let out a soft sigh as he could feel it still. The land had plenty of song left in it and he was glad that it allowed him to sing it to the people around here. There were some like always that wanted to give him money or food for sharing and he’d decline of course. Gently pushing it back at them and managing his smile in such a fashion to allow them to understand he didn’t need anything from them. There was one individual however that stood out among the rest, a woman that was stunningly beautiful. Everything about her was in the sort of attractive way; from the way that she carried herself to the dangerous sensation that he got as she approached. She wasn’t just a woman; she was a fighter, a lover, someone that had been through a lot but was still a kind and generous soul. Something he could resonate with. Hearing her speak brought a sort of jubilation to him; he could sense the person’s love of things just from the way that she talked. The way that she wanted to know where he learned of the song. Understanding his half was easy, sharing what he was capable of sharing was not. He’d wave his hand, a small musical seal spreading from his hand for all of a moment before he did the same over his face. A simple translation spell that he had learned after spending so long among the people of the world. His language was every language at the same time which often blasted people with information that overwhelmed them. ”It was not learned. It was given. The land here told me its song and I simply shared its love with the people here. There’s a kindness to it that I’ve never felt before in my short time on earthland.” He'd chuckle softly and lean back, his tail swishing behind him back and forth a few times. He seemed content with this answer and content to listen to the song of this place. The love he could feel from the people and the land was practically intoxicating and made him not want to leave. But knowing that he'd need to someday somehow made him a bit sad. After a moment he'd perk up and then place a hand on his chest as though he had done many times before; this single word was so filled with mana and purpose that it was hard to mistake it for anything but his name. "Saturn." |

Indeed, Alisa found herself easily enraptured by his song, her hands comming to rest on the wooden railing running along the pier, a soft smile on her face as she couldn't help but look off towards the sea. Something about the song felt evocative of that wide, all encompassing ocean, and part of her couldn't help but imagine he'd just come up with it after a sudden surge of inspiration from his surroundings. The soft, salty breeze blew in from the ocean, leaving that long, flowing dark hair fluttering in tresses alongside her long, loose white dress. And even with that beauty spread out before her, her eyes wandered to the mysterious golden demi human all too easily. He had the beauty and artistic sense of one of her own guildmates, and though he was a complete stranger, that alluring hint of familiary left her at ease in his company:
"My~... Indeed, Luluhawa is quite a blissful place hmm? Still, impressive that you can hear the land's voice so keenly. I've never met anybody who could do so.", Alisa's eyes flared for a moment, half wondering whether he was speaking metaphoric, as though the land itself filled him with inspiration. It had been a long time since she'd even seen anybody use translation magic, but coming from someone with such a mysterious, almost otherwordly appearance, she could recognize it for what it was, "Pleasure to meet you Saturn. Call me Alisa~"
With these words, her smile brightened as she walked up to him, a subtle pendulum sway to her hips as she approached the golden demi human, admiring the sun's rays gleaming off his radiant colour as she took a seat beside him, holding her dress against her shape not to crumple the flimsy wet fabric, and finally crossing those long, luscious legs, her hands coming to rest behind her back for support as her wine red hues sought his
"You're welcome to stay as long as you'd like. I'm sure you'd find a myriad of different songs as you travel around.", she encouraged, utterly enraptured by the sight of him. You meet interesting people every day, though never again would she get the pleasure of meeting someone like him, "How much of Luluhawa have you already seen~?"
Recognizing a fellow lover of beauty, Alisa couldn't help but feel a faint tingle of delight at the thought, already tempted to join him in exploring the island if he so desired. Most Fiorians regarded Alisa as the island's owner, and though she was anything but, she still knew far more about it than anybody else save for its own inhabitants.

”It’s a kind, happy place, away from the world but here all the same. The people here are genuinely happy; nothing forced. Their sorrow is… minute compared to that of the others I have been. I can hear the song of the land, the sea, the sky as though one talks to their kin. It’s… As though the world opened itself to me. For whatever reason.”
He wasn’t speaking metaphorically; the world was quite literally singing to him wherever he went and he was kind enough to listen. His introduction was returned and her name didn’t bring upon much recognition. He’d dip his head slowly in a nod.
”Likewise.”
Out of everything the other would likely find that his eyes remained often closed; as though helping him hear the land more acutely. Though from time to time a small golden glowing hue would be seen as they cracked open. Like he wasn’t ready to see the beauty of the land. Her calm demeanor and suggestion that he stay here as long as he liked was nice…
”I hope to be able to understand this place further… see how far back this song goes.”
Her follow up question made him pause; he had seen… Three separate places now? Met a vast swath of people interested in his song? The demi-human nodded his head slowly a this and eventually turned his head, both eyes cracked open to a degree. There was a brief instance of where she would find both of those eyes on her.
”A few… places so far. Songs of kindness and happiness both. Much like here but… different in tone or pitch. Each marked by… meeting something or someone incredible. I suppose just like now. Life here and elsewhere has been… meeting a few sparse individuals of not quite… normal stature or magical song.”
He’d set his hands on his legs; staring out across the ocean; reflecting on the few that he had met in his short time. Some of them she might have known if he listed them but he couldn’t help but reflect on their songs compared to the places he had been. The first person he met made his heart ache so much and he’d place one of those hands across his heart; breathing out slowly.
”It takes… Love to recognize love. These islands love their people and their people love them back. It’s. Sweet. Endearing. Something that I understand.”

Curiosity indeed, after all, never in her life had Alisa met anybody so thoroughly attuned to the world around them, not even the elves. And yet he still spoke with such wonder towards his surroundings that she couldn't help but smile, taken in by his palpable positivity. People like Saturn were always refreshing to be around, a welcome contrast to all the doom and gloom she got from many others. Her eyes followd his motion, getting a feeling that his ability to listen to the land's song took some effort and wasn't something that came naturally:
"Mmmm, people have been living here in harmony for generations, untouched by foreign wars. We could learn much from them...", Alisa smiled as she looked off towards the horizon, catching sight of a fishing boat coming home to deliver the sea's bounty.
Brushing her long, silky black hair behind her ear as the wind blew it in front of her face, she looked towards her companion, brow arching as he noted Saturn had yet to open his eyes. Chuckling, Alisa refrained from commenting so as to not disrupt his focus, simply leaning forward, hands coming to rest on her lap:
"When you do, I hope you'll share it with me~", she winked, those plush pink lips curling into a smile, "Fufu~... In that case, you must climb to the top of Mauna Ahi. The view is just breathtaking, you can see pretty much the entire island from there. The view of the night sky too is far clearer than anywhere else in Fiore. I could take you there if you'd like?"
At the risk of sounding like a tour guide, Alisa could only recommend the most beautiful places on the island when faced with a fellow admirer of beauty. She genuinely loved this island, to the point where she'd all but formally moved here, the vast ocean between them and the mainland posing no obstacle to hers and Sofia's vast trove of mobility options. From their aerial ship:
"Indeed... It's part of why it feels so refreshing to idle around here.", Alisa sighed lazily, chest rising and falling with long, satisfied breathy of that salty marine air.

There was a kindness to the individual with him that could not be undersaid or underestimated. There was a love there too but it was towards many rather than a few. It was something that many could in some fashion live to learn from. It was gentle and it was soft; it was to many likely unnerving in a sense. But it went with this land and it told him a lot about her. Flicking his ears; cracking his eyes open. He saw her already once, but he saw her a second time. Golden orbs filled with infinite love and kindness would greet her own. Such a gentle sensation and emotion. ”They have spent their time away from the world; learning their own song time and time again. They could learn as much from us as we could them; but I think… I think their peace is one that we should learn. And not just something to come here to feel to get away from things.” He could sense the turmoil in many people that weren’t from here and there was a sadness to his voice as he realized that they would eventually have to leave to go back and live in a place they didn’t want to. His eyes were half open, but it seemed like he almost didn’t need it. Looking somewhat lazy he’d sigh softly; easing his head back to listen still to the music. His eyes closing slowly as he noted a wink from the other. She wished for him to share that song? He’d rumble in a thoughtful manner before nodding slowly; he may have missed the implications or the desire behind it but he agreed none the less. ”I will. It is likely I will be staying in this region for a while so… Mmm?” His ears flicked a little bit; climb to the top of the mountain? To see the view of the island? The whole island. There was a baited breath and he’d shift slightly in his ‘seat’. His claws barely touching the water; softly kissing the ocean in a sense. The night sky, the world and the island just yawning open to him. His hands turned slightly, showing the small pads on his finger tips that hid a deadly set of claws. ”The collective song of the island both near and far… I’d like to see that.” His hand clutched at the thought of seeing something like this; clutched at the thought of being able to listen not to just one part of the island but the whole thing. To feel the sensation and overwhelming knowledge of love for everything within and without. He wanted to taste it as briefly as he was allowed. ”Yet your love stems from something different I feel. It came from before this place but it lingers with it none the less.” |

With the every word they changed, the more Alisa felt utterly bewitched by this utterly unfamiliar golden man that seemed so much more attuned to the island than she did, even though he'd only been here for what... A few hours? Days? She certainly hadn't seen him around, and yet the way he heard the very voice of the land would put even the wisest shaman to shame. And yet, he spoke more like an artist than a spiritualist. Alisa's plush pink lips widened as the mysterious demi humans finally opened, the vibrant golden hues matching his radiant colour. Beautiful~... She didn't know him that well, and yet she could already imagine this man to have been touched by some god somewhere, after all, she'd met few mortals with an aura quite like this:
"Indeed... They've adapted quickly to the gifts we brought them, and yet the one we take with us far outweighs any of them.", as an island so remote, the natives had very limited contact with the technology and fashions from the mainland, "Mmm, I see where you're coming from, though I sometimes wonder if peace like this can only be achieved with generations of harmony. For most outsiders coming here, the idea of living like this seems almost unattainable."
Alisa sighed, reaching her hand up high into the sky, squinting as she shielded her eyes from the worst of the sun's rays. So desperately out of reach... Indeed, mainlanders had much to learn from the culture of Luluhawa, and yet:
"Understandable, when you think of how many generations they've been doing this for~", in the end, she flashed him an understanding smile, far from arrogant enough to assume mainlanders could learn all of it in one generation
The few among the islanders who travelled to far away lands were admired as veritable sages... But even as modern technology slowly became more widespread... One look at the people all around them, strolling left and right along the shoreline, made it clear they still lived very much like they did in ages past, and wouldn't let go of their traditions anytime soon:
"Fufu~... I could take you there whenever you'd like.", she teased, pulling out a key from the pocket dimension in her wedding ring.
Though the key allowed her to only travel from door to door, she still had her aerial ship flying high up in the sky. At the same time, the sights on the island are too breathtaking to ignore, and she'd much prefer making the trip on foot. In the end, as the man turned his attention to her, there was a hint of pink on Alisa's cheeks as her thoughts instantly wandered to her wife and daughters, and the guild she now headed:
"My, you noticed it almost too quickly... Am I really that easy to read~?", she chimed, tilting her head slightly with a playful look in her eyes
