She seemed out of place with the other Runeknights with all the golden jewelry she wore. Her most prominent piece of jewelry was a golden amulet that was connected to a gilded chain that hung off her belt. Alisher knew bringing all that jewelry along with her wasn’t the best choice. But she was willing to risk the dangers of bringing her jewelry along. It was a fragment of Desierto and held memories of her family, even if she refused to acknowledge this as part of her reason for bringing them along.
She wasn’t as excited as she was before. Her eyes were still watering she had to past and she was out of breath from the smog she had to past through. It didn’t make her breathlessness better that she had to walk the entire way up the mountain. When she finally stood in front of the Runeknights grand headquarters, she was relieved she could finally rest. It was a mystery how anyone could tolerate the suffocating haze in the streets below.
Well, I’ll just get have to used to it, She thought, I’m just too used to the fresh air in Desierto. Besides, I’m not going to stay in the city forever. Hopefully this is not too common in Fiore. The residents of Era obviously did considering how much activity she encountered walking through the city.
The travel between countries was much less exhausting. It was easier to get transportation with help from Kyura, the Runeknight that encouraged her to join in the first place. She acted like a wide-eye child throughout the whole boat ride. It was the first time she even left the outpost, never mind Desierto itself. Despite the tiring end of the journey, she was still in a good mood.
She finally got here.
And she was determined to make the most of her time here.
