General Name: Karstaag Cindermane Age: March 24th, X704 (92) Gender: Male Sexuality: Bisexual Ethnicity, Father: Icebergian Ethnicity, Mother: Icebergian Class: Spellsword Race: Dwarf Rank: D-rank Guild: Guildless Tattoo: Wrist (Red) Face: Ornn - League of Legends. Appearance Height: 4' 5" Weight: 210 lbs Hair: Grey Eyes: Orange-red Overall: A tower of a man despite his shorter stature, packed tight with dense musculature that emerges effortlessly from his arms and legs. His face is inherently inhuman, but mirrors the characteristics of a dwarf nonetheless; thick brush of a beard, like think fur that trails down his face and fully envelops it, twisted into two braids to prevent it from hanging down too far. His face naturally twists into the appearance of an angry man regardless of his true emotions - A boon for intimidation but not much else. A peculiarity in the crown atop his head, twisted horns like a goat that twist upward with sharp ends to gore or the heavy impact of a headbutt. Painted in the image of a warrior, relentless and headstrong. Extra: His body is riddled with battle scars from his many adventures as a vagabond mercenary. His beard flares a deep red when using magic. Personality Personality: Rowdy and boisterous, unrestrained by societal norms in a way that others might find obnoxious. Karstaag refuses to be anything but true to himself - the freedom to choose his own destiny regardless of what others might desire from him. As such, Karstaag can be a bit difficult to get along with at first, not out of lack of friendliness, but by sheer virtue of how tempestuous he can be. He loves to tease and poke fun, harmless jests that can be misconstrued due to his intimidating aura. He doesn't read social cues well, having lived a life mostly in seclusion, a vagabond travelling from place to place. He's loud and speaks his mind, but should you ever get on his good side, you'll have a loyal, lifelong friend. He's stubborn to a fault and he's painfully aware of this. Like rolling a boulder to the top of a hill, Karstaag is tenacious in his methods, regardless of how efficient they may end up being. He believes in himself more than anything and will drag himself to hell and back to overcome any trial or tribulation his way. This unfortunately means he has a hard time putting himself in others' shoes regardless of how friendly he is around others. There's a barrier he's built deep within his hear that's unreasonably hard to climb - one that he's not proud of, but a consequence of his upbringing nonetheless. Likes:

Strength: 10 Speed: 5 Constitution: 9 Endurance: 5 Intelligence: 1 Magic Magic Name: Hearth Magic Magic Element: Fire Magic Enhancement: Holder Magic (Axes) Magic Description: Hearth magic is a form of magic that is inspired by the tools and trade of blacksmithing. Channeling magical energy through a weapon to imbue it with molten lava-like heat that can be used to enhance the user's weapon. Almost purely an offensive magic, forged for the heat of battle to erupt into volcanic intensity and leave nothing but ash. It's a warrior's magic through and through, tempered extensively for a single-minded purpose. That is not to say that Hearth Magic is incapable of being adaptable. A smithy's hammer is capable of tempering more than just steel in this case. The manipulation of fire itself is an inherent trait of the user, made easier through the use of their weapon, allowing them to spew even more potent flames than if they did so unarmed. History History: Karstaag Cindermane was born in a small mining village in the harsh cold of Iceberg. He appeared ever so slightly different than the other dwarves, his head adorned with tiny horns and a face misshapen ever so slightly. He was an abnormality in a strict, traditional society - an outcast from birth and yet his family accepted him. His childhood was filled with avoidance from adults and outright scorn by the other children his age. Karstaag was often a problem for his family, refusing to be ostracized and browbeat by bullying children that led him into a never-ending gauntlet of fights. They accepted him even still. It didn't make any sense to the boy at the time and it still doesn't now. They did their best to raise the boy right, teaching him the tools of their trade that he still honors to this day with his magic. As the years went by and he got older - stronger, more capable of working in the booming mining industry that was reinvigorating the village, he'd find himself doing just that. It felt almost like an obligation, servitude in conscription to pay back the debt of being allowed a comfortable life. He was barely a man at this point and working himself to the bone in the dark recesses of a cavern for rocks that meant nothing at all to him. Is it wrong to be ungrateful? Is it wrong to want more than this? To be free. Karstaag had always wanted to be one of the adventuring dwarves told in what felt like tall tales. Where his presence would be met with amazement and adoration instead of quiet avoidance and orders. How many years was it before he finally hit his breaking point? Too many to remember. Karstaag did not leave the village under ideal circumstances. His parents were disappointed. They fought. Another bond broken that night he reckons. He snuck away that same night without a goodbye - guilt for the burden he must have surely been and even now. He wandered around for a time taking any jobs he could to support himself while he searched for true emancipation. He was always good for a fight. So, he took a lot of jobs where he could flex his muscles, intimidate a poor soul in debt, beat a man down for some pocket change until he could make it to the next town over. Karstaag finally made it to a small port town when he joined up with some viking marauders, which is where he really honed his craft, being taught magic onboard by the warchief. He seemed to take a special interest in the dwarf, finely tempering him in the forge of banditry. It was like a revelation to Karstaag to sail the open seas, taking whatever you wanted with force, mountains of gold to sit atop like a throne. Years go by and more cracks form just beneath the surface. It's not guilt that afflicts him so much as, the suffocating weight of servitude to a crew he barely recognizes. The crew he looks upon is filled with unfamiliar faces as more and more of his comrades are claimed by the whims of the sea. He doesn't want to do this. So, he abandons his pride one last time - another attempt to find a way of life that he can truly be happy with, leaving the crew in the same way he left his village all those years ago. He's driven, understanding that freedom itself comes in the form of wealth. The throne you earn with every action you take with blood, sweat and tears. Karstaag arrives at a at a tavern notice board with renewed determination, ready to carve out a path that feels truly right. Discord: shinshaa (Vesper) Reference: Briar Caidh |
