Eventually though, Blue calmed down. It did take a while, but he seemed to get his nerves in check. The only problem now? Where was this Dex man? Little did Blue know, he was actually twenty minutes early, so he’d be waiting here for a little bit.
The client was a man known as Dex, who seemed to have discovered something by this riverbank. Dex seemed like an odd man, but Blue always believed he too was odd, so there was no biggie. Blue was just getting a little bit bored when he could hear footsteps approaching. Turning over to face the noise, it was indeed Dex. Blue smiled. “ Hello.” he said, as Dex would greet him back. Great, Blue was on good terms with his employer right off the bat. Signs of good to come, Blue supposed.
Dex began the discussion. “You see, I’ve found something.. Odd. I found a culprit to a new case. It’s a shining blue ball of light that only appears in the evening. I ask that we wait just a little longer so it will appear.” he said.
Blue thought this guy was a little crazy, but hey, Blue was getting money for this, so no complaining from him. Dex waved for Blue to follow him, presumably to see where the ball of light was. Blue would nod and follow Dex to the location.
Indeed, there it was. Just sitting there on the riverbank was a suspicious blue ball. It was spinning around, giving out a beautiful blue light as it did so. It truly was quite mystical, and Blue had a weird urge all of a sudden. He wanted to touch it… like he wanted to touch this ball REALLY bad. His mind suddenly forgot all else, and all he could think about was the ball, and being able to touch it. He couldn’t even figure out was was happening, as it had corrupted his entire thought process. Dex spoke. “Do it!” he said, encouraging Blue to touch the ball of light. Blue gulped, as he would move his hand closer to the blue ball to gently feel it, as though he was petting a dog, no, a cat.
As Blue touched the ball, suddenly he had a vision. It only lasted about 10 seconds, but it showed a person. Blue couldn't make out if this was a man or a woman. However, the thing certainly looked human. That being said, Blue didn’t know if this thing was living or dead - no signs of life seemed to emanate from it, but no signs of death either… this whole thing made Blue unsure of if what he was seeing was real or not. What a weird thing.. Suddenly, Blue snapped out of the trance that had been giving him this strange vision. The blue ball then did something even more unexpected than giving blue a vision.
This time, Dex was there, and Blue could see the river. But before Blue could tell Dex of his finding in the vision, the blue ball emitted a blast that would knock both blue and Dex back. This felt like a blunt explosion of light, and it caught Blue off guard. The blue ball seemed to be almost exploding.
After Blue’s vision had recovered, he looked around at the area around him The ball? Gone. It seemed like it had just vanished into thing air. Blue himself thought perhaps the ball had self-destructed. Blue next had to look for Dexter, but first was bugged by the sting of a couple of scrapes on his arms. Blue was lucky that he only made it out with slight wounds.
Dex however, seemed not so lucky as Blue. Dex had passed out, and it looked like Blue would need to get him out of here. Picking Dexter up, who was surprisingly heavy, Blue sucked it up and would begin to transport his client to the hospital.
On Blue’s way there, with the heavy Dex, it seemed a man of importance saw the two. “Name’s Dacol. Lemme help.” he said, as he took Dex inside the hospital. Blue would follow the man inside. He seemed to be some kind of important figure, just by the way he walked and talked. Either that, he was just a pretty charismatic person. Either way was fine for Blue, in all honesty.
After a while of waiting and getting his own minor wounds treated, Blue visited Dex. While he was waiting to get in, Dacol asked Blue some questions, blocking the door before he could enter. “What happened out there that left you two in this state?” he asked. Blue wasn’t sure if Dex wanted to keep it confidential or not, but something inside told Blue he could trust this man. He owed him anyways, having been helped out by him. Dex would understand, right?
It seemed Blue would have to tell him. “You see, we had been investigating a blue ball. I got a weird vision when I touched this sphere of light, and then suddenly, it exploded.” he said. Dacol let out a “hmm” to himself. He then would turn to let Blue into the room, following him.
Dex thanked Blue for his work, and would hand over the jewels. Meanwhile, Blue was told to go and get some rest by the nurse. Sleeping in the hotel that night, Blue dreamt of that blue ball. What in the world did this all mean? He’d have to find out… soon. But for now, it was time to rest. The day had been long, but the mysteries caused by it would have to be solved another time.
