It was a sunlit day of late spring and the rays of sunlight shone down upon the gorgeous town of Hargeon. The sky was a perfect blue as puffs of white clouds raced over the empyreans along with the breeze that blew through the vicinity. Strands of silver hair brushed past her face gently due to the wind whilst the young lady stared out into the distance. She could see the vast ocean spreading out into the horizon and numerous boats and ships that floated on the waves of the sea. Her knees were brought up against her chest as slender arms dangled off the top of her knee. On her side was her companion, closely nuzzled against her thigh.

”What’d you think we should do today, Vy?”

The ears of the fox twitched slightly and her head rose upon hearing her name. Vysella stared back at her owner with those large eyes of her and tilted her head to the side as if she was wondering why Snow had asked her the question. The android stared down at the people beneath her, shuffling through the crowded streets of Hargeon and no one seemed to notice that a girl was sitting on top of a roof, silently watching the scenes that unfolded before her. Snowflake stood up on her feet and dusted off dirt particles that remained stuck on her dress before placing a cloth around her eyes.

Numbers began to flicker in her vision, that held meaning to no one else but herself only. Bending her knees slightly, she jumped off the roof and landed on the ground with a rather loud thud causing herself to attract attention from nearby passengers and shopkeepers. She ignored the curious eyes that were fixated on her and began meandering through the flock of people. Behind her was Vysella, following her steps while still clueless to where they were headed to.

The air was perfumed with a scent of raw meat, the fragrance of flowers nearby as well as the sour odour of sweat from the labourers who have been working since the light of dawn. As she continued to stride through the road paved with cobblestones and bricks, her motions were stopped midway by a tug on her arm.

”Snow, is that you?”

The wizard turned around to face the source of the sound and was immediately greeted by a familiar face – Raina Burke. Snowflake bowed her head at a slight angle to acknowledge her presence before fixing her gaze on Raina’s visage. The young lady who stood in front of her had been one of her previous client when Snow agreed to substitute as an assistant in her lab to collect some samples for her work. Flashes of memories flickered through her brain before she pushed them away to the back of mind. She appeared youthful and gentle as ever, her eyes curved into the shape of a crescent moon while a genuine smile lingered on her lips.

”Are you free at the moment?”

”I suppose, since I’m not doing anything at the moment.”

It was the answer to her sudden question although Snowflake would have preferred if Raina had greeted her first before asking her whether she was available or not. The cyborg folded her arms across her chest and enquired, ”Do you need me of assistance?” It didn’t take her long to realise that Raina was so eager to ask for her help, once again. The lady broke into a small smile and gently rested a hand on her shoulder.

”Such a coincidence to meet you here, Snow.” Raina retreated her hand away from her shoulder and began to scratch her temples as if she was deep in thought. ”It’s not that I need your help. I just want someone to accompany me for a while.” Snowflake cocked her eyebrows upwards in question, waiting for the other woman to continue her sentence. ”I just came here to feed the fish but since you’re here, I was going to ask you if you would like to join.”

The youth pondered for a moment before nodding in agreement to accompany Raina in feeding the fishes. Why not, she figured that she should go along with her client since she had nothing else to do anyway. Although she had planned to explore Hargeon while she is in town, she could do that later as well. It was the hometown of Blue Pegasus after all; she could return whenever she wanted. Thus, the two headed off towards a lake until Raina ceased in her tracks immediately with her eyes widened and her mouth opened.

”Crap, I forgot the fish food.”

”How could you forget when you intended to feed them in the first place?”

Her statement was harsh but it was just how her personality was: straightforward and brutal. Raina stared down at the ground, feeling guilty about how clumsy she was and Snow would just produce a long sigh. ”I’ll go get the fish food quickly. Wait me by the lake.” And so, she rushed to the warehouse to collect the fish food for Raina and returned to the lake within fifteen minutes. When Raina noticed her, she couldn’t hide her surprise on how fast Snowflake had returned. Of course, when Snow arrived her destination, her heart pounded against her chest and she was gasping for air.

The two climbed onto the boat before they rowed into the lake so as to feed the fishes. Pouring out the fish food onto her hands, she observed them carefully and rolled them around her palm. She was curious to see how fish food looked like and to her, they appeared as tiny meatballs. She tossed them over the lake just as she was instructed by Raina and peeked down from the edge of the boat. Upon noticing a few fishes swarming around the area, she placed the food on the surface of the water before they were quickly eaten by the animals. The way how their lips become so perky and how they open and close their mouth repeatedly had drawn her attention. Her eyes were fixated on the fishes, examining every movement they made until Raina suggested that they should return home before dusk.
