He was actually on patrol for a client, most likely the same one from the night before. He didn’t care to get a name or want to know the face he was working for. Shura made sure to keep the relationship professional and nothing else. He didn’t want to become the target of some ambitious figure because he knew too much. The patrol was easy, kill anyone who defaced public property with anti-religious slander. Also kill anyone who dare rip down posters of the person in power. It was funny to Shura really, this only showed the corruption that laid hidden within man. Religion was a tool to make people bow down, nasty stuff really. Shura wanted to rule the land standing in front of the public, not hiding behind a religion. He would never say that outloud due to the possible repercussions of his actions.
His eyes darted left to right and back. While doing this he scanned the area around him looking for any possible offenders. The sounds came from the alleyway on his side of the street. The sounds of convesering and shuffling around. This put the scene of the crime on his right, five meters away. Shura concealed himself by hiding around a corner out of sight. From the alleyway they could have only seen the top of his head. If someone was coming from the street he must have looked dumb. Thankfully he didn’t have to worry about that because the streets stayed empty at night.
Two cloaked figures were up to no good, one of them approached the picture on the wall. The individual ripped the paper from the wall making a loud ripping noise. Shura came from around the corner. “Looks like I have to get my hands dirty.”
The two figures looked to see where the voice was coming from. Shocked that someone caught them they had no other choice but to flee the scene of the crime. Shura gave the two a head start before rushing after them. He wasn’t running at his top speed more of a casual jog. That was more than enough needed to catch up. He was enjoying the chasing down of his prey. There was no fun in just catching individuals that he knew wouldn’t be able to escape.
They ran for about three minutes straight down the alleyway. It wasn’t long before the two came up on a fence that was too high to climb. The snow on the fence had become icy so it was pointless to even try.
