Dear Lieutenant Baskerville,
Hope you and the baby are doing well. I am hearing disturbing rumours here regarding an attack on the Capitol. I don’t know how trustworthy this information is, but Akira and a few Captains here in Magnolia seem very worried. Please write back as soon as possible if you can confirm or deny these rumours. I’ll be travelling to Crocus just in case.
Yours faithfully,
Hatsuharu Akimoto
Once he was done with the letter, Haru headed down to the hotel’s reception and asked the receptionist to post the letter for him as soon as possible. He then rushed back up and knocked on Akira’s door. When he let her know of his plan, she asked him to go on ahead and promised to catch up. He wasn’t sure if it was a good idea to split up under such circumstances, but his partner insisted that he go on as she had some important business to take care of before she can leave. Having no choice, Haru left ahead of Akira.
Crocus was three days away from Magnolia by road. Haru hoped Akira would catch up with him soon and began the long journey. The winding path around the rocky mountain, through Era town would have usually raised Haru’s travelling spirit. However, this time, he was travelling with a purpose and couldn’t wait to get to his destination. After three long tiring days, the scarlet-haired Rune Knight finally managed to the reach the Capitol.
