Kenzo Valens
Kenzo rested both arms over a stone balcony as he took a smoke from a cigarette. The bitter kick from the fumes scratched his throat as they usually did, making him spit it with a face of contempt over the edge of the terrace and down into the couple dozen meters drop to the ground. Empyrean Divine’s Summer Gala had started with a blast as some of the most illustrious figures in Fiore enjoyed themselves beneath the Stellan skies. The building where the ball was taking place couldn’t be described by anything else than the word magnificent. It had a huge main hall, decorated with jewelry and tapestry that the finest artisans of Stella and Earthland had to offer. Among the couple of terraces that flanked the dancing hall, the male had found a quiet spot. Away from prying eyes and hopefully sneaking ears, the blue haired warrior waited for his guild master.

Kenzo finally released the smoke he’d been holding with a sigh. ”As bad as ever”. The warrior took the pack of cigarettes on his hand and placed them back into his pocket. He honestly disliked smoking. Kenzo had never actually seen the appeal, but for some reason lighting a cigarette and taking a single smoke from it before throwing it away put him at ease ever since Finn passed away. The male had told Rania, with whom he’d attended the ball, to please excuse him for a second. He had urgent matters that were best discussed private, lest she managed to get herself involved in a mystery that ran far deeper and dangerously than the mercenary had ever imagined.

Kenzo took a sip from his glass of champagne as he waited for Alisa to arrive at the spot. It had been almost a year since he took a step in Fiore. Yet, it had not been in vain. Kenzo finally had a lead that pointed in the right direction. One he’d been tracing deep within territory of conspiracy theories and myths in hopes of arriving at a destination the bellan warrior and Fiore's Wizard Saint had in common: Finn’s Death. As he took a glance back at the main hall, his eyes cautiously hovered around the presence of two infamous individuals. The howls of wolves echoed through the night. It was a full moon.

Alisa had quickly excused herself from her sister's company as those urgent news reached her ears... Question was... What news did he have? This was defenitely a surprise appeareance if Alisa ever saw one... When Kenzo first left, neither of them had any idea just how long it might take. As tempting as it was for Alisa to join too, she had a guild to run, and more importantly, her mere presence could have easily compromised the whole investigation. Most people would know if a Wizard Saint made a move, and where to. Anybody in that location with precious information would have made themselves scarce... Alisa knew that all too well, and yet... Sitting in the guild hall twiddling her thumbs, she could do nothing but wait for news that never came, until the man himself finally appeared before her unannounced.

"Just what did you find, Kenzo...", musing idly to herself, her thoughts scarcely audible to any passerbys, her mind once again racing back to the last time she'd met Finn. Even before he left Blue Pegasus, he appeared to her a broken man, with none of the joy he once had. Perhaps Advent World had been his last ditch attempt to find that joy again... Had he at least found it before his passing?

Alisa bit her lip as she approached the secluded spot she'd agreed upon with Kenzo, pushing aside those thoughts as her clacking heels announced her approached. She always made herself presentable, and for a returning guildmate even more so, idly running her hands down her long, silky red gown, smoothing out the soft fabric along her voluptuous shape, adjusting the straps of her dress before flashing him a warm, soothing smile as soon as she laid eyes on him:

"Smoking is bad for you.", she admonished, her nose twitching as she picked up the smell of smoke, even if she couldn't see the cigarette anywhere, assuming he'd already finished with it as he waited. She might have even peeled the smoke from his lips had she caught him with it but, too late for that. In the end, she draped her arms around him and pulled him into a hug. Far too long to go without laying eyes on one of her guildmates. They may not know each other as long as she knew Manzo or Sofia but... The fact that they shared a best friend was enough for Alisa as she simply smiled, leaving a hand on his shoulder as she asked, "I'm glad to see you again Kenzo... Hope the trip wasn't too rough~"

For all her thoughts about Finn, laying eyes on her guildmate made her mind wander to something far more palpable, the man's own well being. He had no time to deal with his bounty before he left, and now that he'd returned, she knew he must have had a fair share of trouble with the authorities...

Kenzo Valens
Kenzo’s time away from Fiore made him realize something he’d been juggling in his mind for a while; he was tired. Tired of always being on the move, of feeling as a foreigner. Even his presence in Fiore was something quite unheard of. The warrior came from the far, eastern lands of Bellum. Yet, his birth country was never a place he called home. War took him from the mountainous regions of Sin to the dunes and scorching sands of Desierto. Everywhere he went was nothing more but a transaction ending in receiving his payment. It didn’t matter if his next patron was the same people that he’d spent the last years fighting and killing. For a mercenary, concepts as sides were merely formalities; such was the life that had chosen him.

However, he’d left all that behind after feeling the bitter taste of betrayal at Joya. Life became murky and dull. Wanting to flee as far as he could, the warrior decided to find solace in his mother’s homeland. Fiore was like a spark of light, as bright as the renaissance minds that tinkered and toyed with magic, creating lacrimas with functions unheard of in the rest of the world. For a moment, the swordsman was able to find the peace he sought and even a place he could call home. At least, until Finn died. Kenzo decided it was something he needed to move on with, he couldn’t allow his past to drag him down anymore. He joined Blue Pegasus and found happy days at the guild, people he could bond and settle down with. Yet, the bitter taste in his mouth wouldn’t leave; he knew that unless he uncovered the truth behind his friend’s murder it’d never do.

Kenzo spoke with Alisa before leaving the country. He had a clue leading to Caelum and while slim, it was still the only trace left he could follow. How long he would be away, Kenzo didn’t know. So, the two guildmates decided it was best for the warrior to leave alone while she stayed at the guild. It would be dangerous for her to leave Blue Pegasus, the people they were after had managed to kill someone of Finn’s caliber after all. His journey took him from the titanic sea gates of Caelum to the catacombs of the Minstreli capital. It was there, under the crypts of the grand Cathedral of Illumin that he found a clue pointing back at Fiore. The deeper he went, the darker the mystery became. After more than a year, Kenzo had managed to discover a somber truth that had extended its roots deep into the world, its rotten tendrils reaching deep within Fiore’s capital.

The realization that he couldn’t take on the task alone anymore came at a perfect opportunity. Alisa would be travelling to Stella for Empyrean Divine’s summer gala according to news he received from the guild. His presence would undoubtedly be a surprise for his guildmate, but he hoped it would at least be a pleasant one. Chuckling at the admonishment that caught his attention, the male answered with a withdrawn: ”Yeah…”

His eyes were lost in a distant gaze. His mind wandered once again to the feelings of tiredness he was experiencing, only to all be melted away by the woman’s embrace. Kenzo was frozen stiff for a second, it had been a long time since he’d experienced the warmth that came from someone you could trust. While him and Alisa hadn’t known each other for long and had yet to interact much with one another, they at least shared their sorrow for Finn’s death and a place to call home. The male finally answered to her approach by hugging her back. It might have been a silly and simple gesture, but it was a sign that confirmed the warrior’s feelings. In the brief moment it took, he vowed to himself he’d finally leave his past behind once they got to the end of the mystery; however, there were still unresolved matters between his fresh start and him. For the moment, he needed to put Alisa up to date.

”I’m glad to see you again too.” Kenzo answered her question with a sincere smile. ”Can’t say I haven’t had worse… but I’ll be back in shape after a dozen more drinks and a nice sleep at the hotel’s bed.” The male adopted his usual carefree attitude before shifting into serious business. Coursing energy through his right eye, he scouted their surroundings to make sure there was no one close, making it shine with a blueish flame. ”Seems like we’re all alone.”

The male leaned back against the stone railing, positioning both arms at his sides. ”I’ve found a dangerous truth regarding Finn’s death…” Kenzo took a pause as he assessed the best way to proceed. ”He was killed by something far bigger than a simple assassin.” A gust of wind passed by as the moon shone brightly above the sky.

”Finn was killed for knowing too much.” Kenzo air quoted the last part of his sentence with his left hand. ”What that means? I have no clue… but whatever it is, it is related to a mysterious organization with ties to royalty all around the world. They are simply known as the circle amongst the underground syndicates of Minstrel, so I spent the last months digging out any clues I could find.” Kenzo omitted the details of his involvement with said underground syndicates for the meantime.

”It seems like the circle refers to a secret conclave deeply rooted within the upper echelons of the Church of Illumin; and Crocus has a seat in it.”

WORDS: 400 | TAG: @Kenzo | DRESS |

Alisa smiled as she looked at him... She could tell something weighed on him, but granted she wouldn't need to have looked to figure that out. After all, he'd left on a very personal mission and now came back unannounced, bearing news. Merely seeing him unharmed like this lifted a weight off her shoulders, but as she wondered what he might have found, so for a moment she'd just left her hand on his arm as such, that faint, welcoming smile expressing more than any words might. He was home now. Far from Fire they may be:

"Ufufu~... Well you're in luck... Knowing my sister, she wouldn't joke about the open bar~", chimed the crystal woman, her own cool nonchalance slipping through despite the severity of the matter at hand. She noticed the right eye, recognizing it as the pair of her left one.

Unlike her, Kenzo seemed far more accustomed to its use, unsurprisingly so considering he held it for much longer than she did. Alisa's brow furrowed as she looked into his, her arms folding under her ample bust. They hadn't known each other for long but few things bring people together as much as the loss of a mutual, beloved friend. And now here he was, coming forward with news of his death. She knew what he'd come here to bring her, but even then, her fingernails dug into her arm as a hint of that anger peered through:

"Oho, is that so...?", she had more than enough time to grieve... But now knowing there were palpable targets responsible for his death, "It's amazing the things these people get up to when they think nobody knows who they are... Anonimity made them far too arrogant."

Alisa gritted her teeth as Kenzo talked... Even though she'd been baptized in the illuminian faith as the vast majority of Fiorian children, Alisa never cared much for churches. As a free thinking, self reliant woman, the very notion infuriated her. That some people would try to tell her what she could or couldn't think about. They depended on faith and obedience to rule over the masses, and Alisa had neither to give them. And now here was the living proof of that fact: Absent any control, they acted as judge, jury and executioner, fit to kill anybody who so much as learned what they were up to. Alisa sighed, taking a long deep breath of that cool night air, brushing a hand down her hair as she tried to think about the enemies in a clear, fashion. No good would come out of brazenly rushing in to seek vengeance, odds were they'd end up fighting a ton of people not in any way related to the circle before their prey scattered to the four winds:

"But if they hole themselves that deeply into the Church, that makes it trickier to get to them...", she noted, not asking how or why Finn had caught wind of these people, she knew that when they embarked on this path all the answers would reveal themselves. Instead, she merely rose an eyebrow, cradling her chin with one hand as she mused, "...Unless you have a couple of names to get us started, they could easily disappear before we find even a single one of them."

Kenzo faintly smiled at Alisa’s comment. He couldn’t have expressed better how he felt about the cowardice that plotting in the dark meant. All of his life he hadn’t cared much for the struggles of power that important people tended to play, but this was personal now, and he was going to make them pay. The male could notice his guild master get slightly irritated by these same thoughts, only to get her cool back in a second. Kenzo’s admiration for the woman grew a little as he saw her do it. It was one of the mercenary’s weaknesses after all, something that landed him frequently in trouble.

The man crossed both arms, throwing his head back with a sigh as he agreed to Alisa’s remark. ”To be honest, I don’t have any names.” It was something he’d been struggling with for the last couple of days, and he’d yet to reach for a solution that could be described as something more than reckless. As he lifted his head, his eyes suddenly saw the moon, shining with its brilliant radiance over the sky. It reminded him of the day he’d first met the Blue Pegasus guild master at the mountains, and the talk the two of them held under the same full moon.

”However… there is something that might just do the trick.” Kenzo pursed his lips as he weighed his options. It was an idea that had come to him just before getting to the Empyrean Gala, but it was followed with a whole new set of complications. ”One of the letters I managed to steal speaks about something called a blood rune being found in Era.” Kenzo slowly slip his hand inside his blazer’s pocket, taking out a wrinkled peace of paper. Traces of the seal of Illumin carved within the wax seal were still visible. The mercenary handed it to Alisa, giving her a minute to read its contents. It was clear from the handwriting and sloppy signature that the letter was written in a hurry. Whatever the blood rune was, it meant serious business for the circle.

”As you see, it also mentions a certain page in one of the codices stored at the vault of the Grand Cathedral of Crocus.” Kenzo added, standing up from the stone rail and shifting his body away from Alisa, towards the vista. ”I’m sure that if we manage to find whatever they’re looking for before them, we’ll lure them right out of the hiding spot.” Kenzo smiled as he turned his face back at his guild master again. ”However… I can’t brazenly enter the capital as you may know.” The warrior scratched the back of his head as he lightly chuckled. The 2 million jewel bounty on his head was definitely a problem now.

Now that was troublesome... She didn't think any less of him for not having all the answers, honestly, considering what he'd just told her Alisa wagered he must have fought tooth and nail to even get his hands on this much info. Secret societies were challenging foes, whose very existence had been dedicated to preserving their secrecy to all but those who joined it. The longer lived and the more deeply rooted they'd grown, the more fearsome a foe they'd prove in the end. Alisa had some modest experience in taking down demonic cults in her younger years, but she couldn't imagine going toe to toe with one that had entrenched themselves as deeply as this:

"Hmmm~...?", to his credit, Kenzo had already began forming a strategy, his words catching her ears once more and pulling her from her pondering, mentioning one particular item who she'd been hearing more and more about as time went on, "Ahh... One of those Blood Runes."

Indeed Alisa heard of those runes and the tremendous power they were said to hold. As its guildmaster, she knew better than to lure powerful foes to the very home she sought to protect. She had nothing against her guildmates pursuing the runes, she might have even encouraged those who knew what they were getting into. And in his particular case, well... Kenzo's interest came not from greed, but from a far greater well of strength: Necessity. In the end, he pulled out a note and handed it to a visibly curious Alisa, who took the piece of paper and gave it a look. And what she saw brought her a palpable thrill as she realized the implications:

"Ufufu~... Can't imagine what they could possibly want with such an artifact~...", her tone dripping with sarcasm, scorn even, and almost triumphant smile drawing on those plush pink lips as she fully understood why it piqued Kenzo's interest, "No matter how elusive the prey, sooner or later it will come out of hiding to feed~..."

In the end, her gaze peeled up from the paper as she returned it to its owner, looking into his eyes as she nodded. They may not have any names of the Circle's member, but they now knew what they were after, a treasure trove of information worth just as much if not more so. But indeed, in order to chase this clue, he'd need to brave into the same lands that wanted him thrown in jail. Alisa remembered telling him they could deal with his bounty when the time came, and now the time had finally come:

"I suppose there's only one thing to do now. When it's time to turn yourself in, let me know. I'll make sure you have the best attorney I can hire.", the same man who took care of Noel's defense, and did an excellent job on his case. There was a reason why his services were in such high demand. They couldn't completely keep him out of jail, but the man's efforts had cleared his name in the courtroom, ensuing he saw no more of those dungeons than it took for the proceedings to take place.

Kenzo’s ears perked at the sound of Alisa’s response. It was almost as if his guild master knew what the Blood Runes were. Kenzo had never before heard something about them, so the contents of the letter were still a mystery for him. ”Do you know what they’re supposed to be?” The idea excited the warrior, meaning they’d be able to make headway even faster than he expected. While he didn’t put his hopes up too much, he was at least interested in gathering any information Alisa could give him about them.

”We just need to make sure to lure them out with a feast they can’t ignore then” The Bellan took the piece of paper and stored it in his pocket dimension ring. There was still the matter about the Codex Page mentioned in the letter, but there were still matters to be fixed before thinking on going to Crocus. ”I don’t suppose you could get a pardon with your Wizard Saint status, could you?” Kenzo playfully said as he laughed in embarrassment. ”It has been something that I should have cleared off ages ago. Sorry to put you in such a predicament boss.”

The thing that worried Kenzo was time. It wasn’t something that they could afford to waste, so the warrior was understandably worried about it. ”I’ll turn myself in as soon as the Empyrean Gala is finished. I want to at least gather some more information, to make use of the fact that many important people came.“ The statement was a contradiction in itself, considering he knew he would be losing time with the whole trial proceedings.

However, Kenzo’s mental health was reaching a precarious spot. He was unable to voice his need for interaction with people, not feeling ready to spend his time in a jail cell. The Blue Pegasus member would never admit it, but he honestly needed some time to rest. He didn’t notice it at the time, but he was biting his lip as he muttered his last sentence.

"'Know' might be a stretch...", Alisa rubbed her temple, usually not the sort of person to feed people's hopes when she had no clue whether it was actually true. Brushing a loose black lock behind her ear, she brought a hand up to her chin as she recalled the rumours she heard, "But i've heard about them popping up in various locations, and how some people have already collected one. Apparently, they can grant wishes to people who collect them all, but must be won through battle. Of course, these are just rumours so take them with a grain of salt... But if I heard them, surely other people have too, so you can imagine how 'granting wishes' can pique some people's interest..."

Whether the runes actually worked like the rumours say... Only time would tell. But at this point, how they actually worked was inconsequencial. If they were to use them as bait, all that mattered was whether their prey believed in their power. Believed it strongly enough to do everything to obtain them, even coming out into the open and give up their greatest protection:

"Fufu~... If that's how it is, it seems to me like if you gather enough runes, someone might be tempted to come steal them all."

Out of everyone in Blue Pegasus, Kenzo just so happened to be one of the few with the power and skill to hold on to his rune long enough to lure out their real target. Of course, this also meant moving freely around the country, a challenging endeavor with his current wanted status:

"Don't worry about it... I told you we'd deal with it in time didn't I~?", she winked, waving her hand dismissively. The government might get a bit uppity about bounty holders in a light guild, but she could deal with them. The owed her all that and more and everytime Blue Pegasus had done for the country, herself included.

That in the end, probably amounted to more than her title... Wizard Saint... A shiny, prestigious title to have, but in the end that's all it was. It gave her next to no actual power to go with it, more than whatever image people seemed to project on it. Sometimes the illusion of power alone can go a long way, but judging by her doubtful look,

"Oh, I most certainly will, but I can't guarantee that will work.", Alisa crooked her brow, an awkward smile of someone who wished she could do more, but at the same time wasn't about to give her guildmate false hopes, finally scratching her head as she smiled, "At the end of the day, my influence and a good attorney might do more for you than just my influence."

One thing was certain though, no way in hell she'd let one of her own rot in jail if she could, and if all else failed she always had the last resort of paying off the knights and covering his bail. Not an elegant solution by any stretch, but nobody can deny the power of cold, hard cash:

"Very well. Nobody should bother you all the way out here in Stella, but if you run into any trouble with the Knights, let me know. I'll figure something out~", she wouldn't put it past some knights trying to take him in, and while she knew he'd likely be able to handle them, they should ideally not let it come to that.

”Hoh? No wonder they’re looking for them so desperately then, assuming wishes can actually be granted after collecting the five of them.” It was one of those things that Kenzo had heard everywhere he went. Countless tales of all powerful beings that could concede your every wish were not something uncommon in a land of magic like Earthland. However, they were hardly more than just rumors. Then again, if people as dangerous as the Circle were after something like the Blood Runes, they should at least be taken more seriously.

”Haha. You did say so~ So I guess I’ll be in your care then” Kenzo lightly bowed in gratitude at his guild master’s words. He didn’t feel discouraged by her words in any way, considering he wasn’t even used to relying on people in the first place. ”That is more than enough for me. As long as I can get access to the Grand Library of Crocus freely to get more information, the process is the least of my concerns.”

”I’ll make sure to stay out of trouble.” Kenzo commented at her offering, with a smile on his face. It was good having a guild master as dependable as Alisa, even if the two of them hadn’t interacted much in the past, Kenzo still knew he could trust her. ”With that out of the way. I’ve been wanting to ask why are most of Fiore’s top mages doing all the way here?” It was a question that came to his mind as soon as he arrived at the ball. While he had regularly gotten updates from Fiore via lacrima communication, there had been nothing that told him about them travelling to Stella. Did they actually just come only for the ball? It seemed a bit of a stretch to be honest. There was also the whole Boscosi civil war he’d been hearing so much about, but Kenzo doubted the top mages in Fiore would be specifically targeted to work as mercenaries in such a far away affair. Unless there were powerful people pulling the strings from behind… Much like the circle

”Wouldn’t It be dangerous for Fiore if something were to happen right now?” The male jokingly said, pointing a concern he actually had but with a light hearted intent of not jinxing it. After all, Kenzo was unsure whether the dragon Lanzerossa was actually defeated or not. Considering what she did to Phoenix Feather, it was more than obvious she could do some serious damage if there was no one to stop her.

"Even if it does work that way, i'd imagine whatever wish granting power they have will be exceedingly limited. If they're hoping to wish for something silly as becoming immortal, I doubt it would have ever gone as well as they hoped~", Alisa shrugged, rubbing her cheek as he spoke. She had no clue whether they could actually grant wishes, but even if they could, she doubted they'd have unlimited power in their wishes.

Not that she'd have hunted after them herself to begin with, after all there were very few things Alisa would wish for that she wasn't willing to gain with hard work and her own efforts. She'd never been one for taking shortcuts, and wasn't about to start now. But if one of her guildmates did want it, well... She'd rather Kenzo gathered them than some dubious character:

"Oh don't worry about it. You'll have this whole problem behind you before you know it~", she encouraged, waving her hand, shaking her head as she still clearly didn't think much of someone having a bounty.

What the Kingdom thought of him mattered little, as Alisa looked to the blue haired warrior and smiled, seeing a friend and guildmate, and one of the few people who could still share those memories of Finn with. She didn't think he'd look for trouble in any stretch, but it still reassured her that he'd try to look out for those who'd have trouble with him. If they were really that eager, then she imagined they had plenty of Dark mages to entertain themselves:

"Ara, you didn't hear? Bosco's succession crisis dragged on so long we're almost gone native at this point~ Seems like every influential foreign mage had something to gain from betting on the right horse. Unfortunately not our case.", she knew he'd been on his own mission, and yet her eyes still widened, hand raising over her mouth as he professed his lack of information about the political hornet's nest this country had turned into. Seemed like he'd just arrived one month too late. In the end, Alisa rested her hand on her hip, her shapely chest rising and falling with a deep, disappointed sigh, "As for the ball, well... My sister decided to throw once since everybody was nearby~"

Still, Bosco could have done a lot worse than Hildegard, but for all their efforts, their chosen Heiress couldnt' come out on top. Second place was hardly a bad place to be in to influence the country's politics, but clearly, for a proud perfectionist like Alisa, close didn't quite cut it.

"Well, thankfully, some people can teleport... Such as me and my wife~", she winked knowingly at him, her lips curling into a playful smile, "So feel free to let us know if you need a lift back home~"

”I’ll make sure to tell you when I gather them all then.” Kenzo answered with a confident smirk. There was no doubt in his mind that he’d be able to gather all of them, no matter the foes he’d have to face in the future. ”I’d feel more at ease if you were present whenever I summon the genie of the lamp and wish for the destruction of the stones. Who knows if he/she’ll get angry at me for wanting such a thing. Plus - I doubt you’ve ever hunted one~” The warrior playfully spoke at the huntress in front of him. Kenzo knew as a fact that she was at least part of the hunters guild of Fiore, dedicated to hunting beasts and creatures of the night. While he spoke matter-of-factly, he was honestly curious if she’d ever encountered a Djinn before. Not that the Blood Rune’s summoned one though, but he was still curious. He’d heard much of time as he campaigned through Desierto.

Alas, the conversation continued as the matter of his bounty was finally settled. It was definitely going to be a hassle, but it was something that needed to be taken care of before moving around the country. Kenzo wanted to at least restrict the council’s ability to track him, and with his face plastered all over the bounty boards of the country, it was not hard for them to hear whenever he traveled to a new town. Either way, that’d be a problem for the future, considering the conversation at hand piqued the mercenary’s interest way more than the prospect of facing Fiore’s judiciary system.

”Hoh? Such a shame it’s over then. Seems like I lost my opportunity to finally shine at what I’m good at. I’m not much of a mage after all~” The man chuckled light heartedly at his own comment as he crossed his arms in front of him. He was registered in Fiore as Blue Pegasus mage, but he couldn’t quite be categorized as such. In his mind, he had never stopped being a mercenary. One that had decided to offer his services full-time to Blue Pegasus for the time. ”Next time I’m missing such a fun event hit me up. I’m sure with more hands we can net ourselves a king or queen to our liking” His usual confident grin crossed his face as he calmly spoke of such manners. He was jesting of course… but only to a certain degree. If there was something he was truly experienced was in fighting in Civil Wars after all.

”Ah! I’ll definitely take you up on your word. Can’t imagine my Dhuilin being too eager to cross yet another country so soon.” The warrior scratched the back of his head trying to hide the slight surprise coming from the casual mention of their powers. Alisa and Sofia were indeed powerful people, but he never expected them to be able to teleport. How useful would that skill be, he simply thought to himself, imagining all the troubles it’d save him. Pausing for a second, the male tilted his head as he finally asked a question that was long overdue. ”By the way, where is Sofia?” From what he could sense, his guild master’s wife was nowhere to be seen, at least not at the ball.

Alisa

WORDS: 500 | TAG: @Kenzo | DRESS |

"Fufu~... Well if he does get mad, it's his own fault for offering people any wish they wanted~", she chimed, sharing a knowing wink with her guildmate as she flashed him a playful little smirk. Despite that lighthearted hint in his words, Alisa knew Kenzo was telling the truth, and merely glanced off into the distance as she scratched her cheek, "I've never had the displeasure of crossing paths with one. As far as I know, you couldn't really find them outside of Desierto. Sounds like you'd know a lot more about this than I do, I didn't even know it was a genie granting the wishes. I honestly thought it was a dragon~"

Clearly no two myths would line up here... It would even be a demon, or several. No way to really know for sure until somebody actually gathered the bloody things, and as far as she knew, no historical record remained of anybody ever achieving such a feat... So whatever would actually happen at that point amounted to little more than speculation:

"Mmmm, deeeeeefenitely feels like you missed a nice chance to cut loose a little bit~", quipped the sculptress, a sly smirk drawing on her lips, a hint of somebody who knew her guildmate well enough to understand he'd have thrived in the war torned battleground that was Bosco until a few months ago. The country could have done a lot worse than Hildegrad, but even then, Alisa still sighed... She never held much regard for people obsessed with the vissicitudes of being born a human, elf or demi-human. Such arguments had always felt... Petty... Accidents of birth were beneath her. Anybody who thought themselves special for being born to this or that race clearly didn't have much else going for them... No matter which side of the fence you stood on, she always felt like brilliant minds could be put to far more fruitful uses than that, "Fufufu~... Don't worry, I won't let you miss anything like this a second time~ If you had been right there on our corner, I'm pretty sure Cassia would have been made Queen."

Throwing him a teasing little wink, Alisa took another sip from her drink. Indeed, she knew of Kenzo's affiliations from the moment when he joined Blue Pegasus, and didn't doubt one day he may feel a need to seek out other employers. When that happened, she at least hoped the man could cherish the memories of the time he'd spent at the guild hall:

"Oh dear... You mustn't put your Dhuilin through such a stenuous effot... I don't think he'd ever forgive you for that~", she replied, letting out a playful little chuckle. Her smile faded only when he mentioned Sofia's whereabouts, to which Alisa shook her head and sighed, her shapely rump resting against the railing as she glanced down at the glass in hand, "Sofia... She opted not to join me tonight, so she's still back in Bosco.", she shrugged, chest rising and falling with a bated breath, "Who knows... Maybe she'll change her mind~... She could be here at a moment's notice if she so desired."
