Daiko was having some kind of panic attack, surely. He had spent hours in front of the mirror back at the guild hall, stressing far more than when facing one of those annoying stone golems at the northern mountains. Yes, true, he had been picking up on quests lately, and surely that would mean that he’d know how to allocate his time, right? Nah, you were expecting a bit too much from the ‘roll-with-it’ ex-Lamia now Blue Pegasus poster bird… which was why his sister had invited him to meet up first. Shame on him, huh.
It would’ve taken him much longer to choose a suitable outfit for the occasion if he was any 2+ years younger. However, much to his obliviousness of
how matching it’d be with his sister’s choice of clothing, he chose a black, sharp shirt and matching, smooth pants to boot. The collar of his shirt held edges of gold, and his wrists were protected with bands of similar metal. His collar afore-mentioned revealed that he also wore a contrastingly
silver necklace with a medallion illustrating a very certain bird that the Fire Mage was associated with.
A new member to his outfit were the pair of
Himba Earrings that he was gifted by, respectively, the people of the Himba Village. They weren’t made of gold or silver, but they looked fancy enough and brought the lad some kind of conservation of his woodland heritage.
One more look on the mirror… no, one more look, maybe he looked better from this side… hmh… yeah, he looked pretty fancy. He was almost confusing his reflection in the mirror with someone else, not recognizing anything
green on him or anything symbolizing combat or enduring the wild. He looked so… formal. Well, it wasn’t the first time, but it baffled him each and every time he donned something pretty.
…
On his way to the Sardina Restaurant, he had to let Coda perch on his wrist instead of her favorite spot – his shoulder – due to the fact that the fabric of his shirt couldn’t withstand her talons. Sadly, it let into a bit of a confusing encounter with the waiter who warned him that normally, animals weren’t allowed inside the restaurant. Henceforth, he had to let Coda fly away for the time being, deciding to make sure that he’d let her meet his sister later… but as if being a strike of luck, he spotted Raeden waiting for him. Joyously, he thanked the waiter for showing him to the table near the window – the perfect spot where he could sneak some snacks to Coda who had appeared on the other side of the glass, staring down at Raeden in inquiry.
Speaking of Raeden, she looked… gorgeous. Issue was, was he allowed to say that to his half-sister? Hmh?
… Ah, screw it. Daiko wasn’t
that self-aware yet, relax. Scratching the back of his head, he focused his grey irises on her as a smile slowly rose on his face.
“Hey there… sorry for the wait,” were his first words before he pulled back the chair and took a seat on the opposite side of hers. For a brief moment, his eyes… really were everywhere. Damn, would Alisa and Sofia love to meet her too…
“You look very pretty… hey, we’re matching, too! Hehe…!” he noticed, suddenly bubbling up some of that old-school, childlike expression he often pulled back in his younger days in the guild. Somehow, that lead to memories of his mother… maybe she would’ve been happy to meet Raeden too. Y’know, embrace her as her own too, if only…
