Dreamers Always Win~

It was a beautiful sunny day in Hargeon. Luna roused from her pleasant dreams in her comfy bed to start her day. It was a little past noon, later than she normally got up but the fae had stayed up a little too late the night before reading her favorite romance novel. It was so good the mage just couldn't bring herself to put it down. Nevertheless, she had a job to do so, she made her way into the bathroom attached to her room to take a shower and get dressed.

After showering, she headed downstairs to have a cup of tea and an egg white sandwich prepared by the chef before heading out the door. The chauffeur was ready to take her to the warehouse where Luna would procure the food for the little fishies she was hired to help feed. What job could be easier? Once she'd picked up the food, Luna was taken to the shore, from here on out, she'd have to get herself to the final destination.

She quickly found the boat Raina had told her about. It was small and didn't look the safest but, Luna wasn't too worried, being a water mage she wouldn't even need to row it herself. She used a little of her magic to move the boat to her destination, which made things way easier. Upon arriving at the canal, Luna disembarked from the boat with the food in hand to meet her employer, a marine biologist by the name of Raina Burke.

"I'm here Miss Raina~!" Luna said announcing herself to the woman cheerfully as she skipped along up to her. "Here's the food for the fishies~" Luna said sweetly as she handed the food to her employer for the job. The woman gave the fae a kind smile as she took it. "Thank you Miss Luna for your help, how did you get here so fast though?"

Luna didn't want to admit she cheated a little so she just gave her another sweet smile. "I came as fast as I could be I wanted to help you feed all the cute little fishies~" Her words like honey, managed to convince Raina that the young girl was just an efficient hard worker. "Well, alright then, shall we get to work?"

"Yes ma'am!" Luna said enthusiastically before taking a seat on the little stool next to Raina. She watched as the woman beside her, carefully tossed the food into the water, making sure no fish got left out. All of them were so adorable, that Luna wondered if she could maybe take one to keep at home as a pet. However, she pushed that thought down and instead asked about what kind of fish they were.

Raina, excited by the idea of Luna wanting to learn more about the aquatic life she'd been caring for, happily and in great detail, told Luna what species each fish was from, what they typically ate outside of the food she gave them, where they usually lived and the temperature of the water they lived in, down to even their poop cycles.

Luna began to regret asking Raina about the cute little fishies so she tuned out most of what the Marine Biologist said while on the surface, she acted as if she were listening with rapt attention. Occasionally, Luna would be handed a handful of the food to feed the fish with. This was the only part about this whole job that Luna found enjoyable.

When they'd used up all the food and there was no more, it was time to go home. "That was fun~ Thanks for hiring me to help feed the fish, Miss Raina." Luna said cheerfully. Raina gave Luna a warm smile as she stood up and gathered her things up. "I'm glad you had a good time and thank you for all your help, Miss Luna. I hope this was a good educational experience for you my dear."

Luna returned her smile and nodded. She couldn't bring herself to tell Raina how bored out of her mind her extensive lecture about the fish made her. "Ah yes, before I forget, here!" Raina pulled out an envelope full of jewels. "Payment for a job well done!" the fae couldn't hide her excitement about receiving her payment for the job.

"Thank you, ma'am, I hope you have a pleasant journey back~!" Luna gave a small, polite bow towards Raina and excitedly waved as she took her leave. "You as well my dear." Once Raina had left, Luna grabbed her things and headed back to the boat. She climbed in and once again, used a little magical help to bring herself and the boat, back to shore. After docking it in the same place she initially found it, Luna disembarked and walked to where her chauffeur was waiting with the car to take her back home.
