Go D. Drakkon
Drakkon had cleaned himself from the water of the pool and he wasn’t alone. Hai had done the same and he was sure Toga had also done that. Still, with him cleaned and his clothes back on the group would make their way to their next destination. This place was where the Skating Rink was. Drakkon knew how to skate as he was there when Lumikki had created the ice rink in Paradise Dawn that day. He was a bit different back then and he had gotten the abilities of Toge when he fused with him.

This wasn’t a problem for him, and he was wondering if it was going to be a problem for everyone else. The Dragon Slayer moved through the area and he would see the people that were on the ice. It seemed like a lot of people from this place were enjoying this activity a lot. He didn’t blame them because it didn’t snow down here. This was a first, and he figured he could just enjoy his time here.

It would probably be the end of his fun here as he was going to go back home and train Carmina. The Devourer had to get his army strong. It was nice that he was strong, but if he was the only one, then did it matter?

“Toga I’m glad we hung out together. It’s enjoyable indeed; I know you said you really wouldn’t join me, but truly think about it. We can do so much together, but I know you have people to think about, so that’s okay.” He said to him as he just made it brief.

They didn't have to talk about it, but their time together was all that mattered in that small thing he said. Hai looked at the man of fire, and he wondered if Drakkon could really beat him or if would things end in their defeat. It was going to be interesting and he couldn’t wait for it now more than ever. When they got to the entrance of the skating rink, the person at the beginning would look at them.

“Welcome to the Divine Ice and Demonic Crystal. Here you can use our rental ice skates for the rink, but please secure your belongings as weapons are not allowed on the ice. We have lockers and such for you to secure them. Will you Ice skate with us today?” He said to them.

Drakkon nodded as he would be giving a wristband, and then Hai followed afterward. The two of them would move to the counter to get their skates.

Life as a Rune Knight Colonel had carved deep grooves into the once-wild path of Tōga's existence. Where his days once overflowed with spontaneous adventures and thrilling discoveries, they now marched to the structured rhythm of diplomatic missions and civil duties. His role as a guardian of peace across the continent demanded a different kind of heroism - one built on patience, protocol, and careful negotiation rather than the raw excitement of exploration. True excitement still sparkled through occasionally, like precious gems hidden in common stone. These rare moments of unbridled freedom felt all the more precious for their scarcity. Tōga had accepted this trade-off when he donned the mantle of Colonel, understanding that securing a safer world might temporarily cage his adventurous spirit. The promise of future freedom kept him focused - each diplomatic success brought him closer to the day when he could chase his own horizons again.

But Hargeon... Hargeon felt different. Here, the weight of his rank seemed to dissolve like morning mist, revealing the young adventurer still burning bright beneath the official facade. His companion Drakkon had proved to be a master key, unlocking doors to pure, uncomplicated joy. From the wild abandon of the boat party to the carefree hours by the pool, laughter had flowed more freely in these precious hours than it had in weeks. Everything breathed with beautiful simplicity.

Fresh from a shower and dressed in casual attire that felt like freedom against his skin, Tōga made his way to one of Hargeon's most unique attractions. "Divine Ice and Demonic Crystal" stood as a monument to magical craftsmanship - a skating rink born from the ice magic of their mutual friend, Lumikki. Even in her absence, the demoness of ice and darkness had left her mark, her influence spreading like frost across a winter window.

"Oooooi, Drakkon-san!" Tōga's voice rang out as he emerged from the shadows of a nearby corner, his pink hair catching the crystalline light as he approached Drakkon and Hai at the registration desk. When the conversation drifted toward his potential membership in Drakkon's new guild, the Supernova dragon slayer's response carried the lightness of a snowflake.

"We can talk about that later! It's time to skate," he declared, his signature grin spreading across his face as he signed the registration form and claimed his locker key. The weight of such a life-altering decision could wait - for now, the ice called, promising an evening of pure, uncomplicated joy. The rink before them gleamed like a frozen slice of starlight, its surface holding countless possibilities for both adventurous glides and amusing tumbles. In this moment, rank and responsibility melted away, leaving only the promise of shared laughter and new memories waiting to outlined on the ice. Maybe the dragon slayer could learn a trick or two in the process.

Go D. Drakkon
Drakkon heard his words and he was fine with talking about it later. Actually, they didn’t have to talk about it anymore. He had given Toga his final words on the matter and the rest was up to him. The Devourer smiled back at his friend as he was okay with it.

The Son of Chaos would get the skates that would fit him and when he found the one that worked for him, he moved over to the locker that was big enough to his weapon. He was fine with that as he hoped that whoever tried to steal their stuff would meet unfathomable wrath.

He would take off his shoes and he would put on the skates without a problem. He had to tighten them as they told him that he would hurt his ankles if he didn’t. He knew that much, but Hai didn’t know any better. The Dragon mimicked his father and he would tighten them and he would stand up. It was hard to walk on this as Hai’s legs wobbled when he walked. The poor dragon wasn’t used to it, but how long would it take for him to master it? He wasn’t sure, but he was walking around just fine. He put the final portion of his stuff in a locker before closing it. He locked it with what they had given him and he looked over to Toga.

“Have you done this before? I’ve only done it twice, the first time I was a mess, but I got the hang of it soon after. The second time made me feel better about myself.” He said to Toga as this would be his third time on ice.

Hai was quiet right now as he was trying his best to focus and make sure that he didn’t fall on his face.

“I shall learn by moving on the ice and watching others. A Dragon should find this easy to master.” He was determined to get the hang of this that was for sure.

Still, the two of them would wait for Toga. Once the young man was done putting on his skates and securing his belongings they would enter the ice. Drakkon and Hai would get on the ice through one of the two entrances. Drakkon pushed through the ice as if he was sliding and Hai looked like he was about to fall and die the moment he touched the ice. Still, he kept his balance, which was good but hilarious to Drakkon.

Toga
An unspoken understanding hung in the air between Tōga and Drakkon, as tangible as the crystalline mist rising from the magical ice before them. The topic of guild recruitment had grown stale, like a song played once too often. Drakkon's enthusiasm for building his ranks was admirable, yet even the most earnest invitation could wear thin with repetition. Similarly, Tōga had grown weary of deflecting these well-meaning attempts to recruit him during what should be carefree moments of fun. Both men's hearts were in the right place, but sometimes fate needed to unfold at its own pace, like a flower refusing to bloom before its time.

The mundane task of storing his belongings quickly transformed into an impromptu comedy as Tōga confronted the logistical challenge of his equipment. Standard lockers, it seemed, were not designed with dragon slayers and their oversized weaponry in mind. His massive cleaver sword, Zangetsu, posed a particular problem - the blade nearly matched its wielder in height, making it about as cooperative as a cat being forced into a bath. Tōga's initial confusion gave way to determination as he surveyed the locker with the intense concentration of someone trying to solve a complex puzzle. After several failed attempts at geometric reasoning, he resorted to the time-honored tradition of brute force. With a grunt and a push that would have impressed a giant, he managed to convince Zangetsu to fit inside the metal confines - though the locker door's newly acquired bend suggested it might never close quite right again.

"Hmmmm," he muttered, his voice carrying a mix of guilt and forced nonchalance as he examined his handiwork. The bent metal screamed for attention, but Tōga chose the path of selective awareness. "They won't mind, right?" The question, directed to no one in particular, floated in the air as he made his strategic retreat, each step carefully casual, like a child trying to sneak away from a broken vase.

The transition from sure-footed dragon slayer to wobbly novice occurred the moment he strapped on his skates. His usual grace abandoned him as he navigated the short distance to the rink's edge, his movements resembling a newborn fawn taking its first steps. The real challenge, however, awaited at the threshold between solid ground and gleaming ice. Time seemed to slow as Tōga made his inaugural step onto the frozen surface. For a brief, glorious moment, he stood triumphant - then physics remembered its job. His feet shot out from under him with dramatic flair, sending him crashing onto the ice with all the grace of a falling tree.

"Ouch!" The exclamation echoed across the rink as he rubbed his bruised posterior, his dignity taking a harder hit than his body. Yet, in true Tōga fashion, his infectious optimism refused to be dampened by something as trivial as gravity. When Drakkon inquired about his skating experience, a bright grin split his face, transforming what could have been embarrassment into shared amusement.

"Nope, first time doing this!" he declared with undiminished enthusiasm, as if falling was all part of the grand adventure. His cheerful admission carried no trace of shame - after all, what was a little tumble to someone who had faced down powerful mages and mystic creatures? The ice beneath him might be unforgiving, but it was no match for his willingness to enjoy this new challenge, one wobbling step at a time.

Go D. Drakkon
Drakkon heard his words and he nodded. He was sure they wouldn’t mind. They could probably fix what they damaged. It was better they did this than bringing their weapons into the rink. It was what they were preventing correct, so what was the harm in damaging the lockers to get their stuff to fit?

“We will be fine, they aren’t going to say anything to us.” He said to Toga.

Drakkon skated around the area as he was waiting for the two of them to gain their footing through all of this. While he waited it seemed like Hai was doing his best to not fall. He looked over to Toga, and he saw him get on the ice, and then it happened. Drakkon moved on the ice and watched the collapse of Toga as he hit the ice hard. He flinched for a bit but then noticed it was happening again.

Hai lost his composure and it was because he looked at Toga falling. He would do the same and Drakkon would flinch as well as the dragon hit the ice on his ass. He sucked his teeth from the impact looking at his father as he didn’t fall. It upset him, but it kind of hurt, but wouldn’t give up.

He heard Toga express that it was his first time doing this, and he nodded as he understood all too well about the first time.

“I see, you aren’t alone on this. Hai is also trying to get the hang of this. I’m sure after a couple more falls, you two will be skating like novices. Get up and try again.” He said as he was in front of them both to help them up.

Hai got up first, he grabbed his father’s hand and was pulled up. He had watched his father skate a bit when he was on the ground. He figured if he did it like then he would be fine right? Drakkon moved over to Toga he would help him up and then push away from him.

“Father, any advice for the two of us?” He asked him waiting for him to help them out here.

Drakkon thought about it as he was trying to help them out. It was then he thought about what he was doing all this time. Drakkon’s whole thing was to copy people and master it that way. How could he teach it?

“I guess when you are moving one leg slightly in front you also have to move your body in that direction. You kind of push forward to the side with one leg, and your body is pushed in that direction as well. If you can alternate while moving, you should be fine, I think.” He said to Hai.

He moved away from them as he would try it himself to show him what he meant. It would be something they could practice, and once they got their balance they could easily not have to work hard on skating. Hai heard his father and he wanted to steel his legs first. The Dragon needed to make sure that he wasn’t wobbling on the ice or else he could never push forward.

Toga
A new challenge emerged before Tōga, one that defied his years of martial expertise - the deceptively simple art of ice skating. For a warrior accustomed to dancing with steel in the heat of battle, these thin blades affixed to leather boots presented an entirely different kind of combat. His usual domain involved the precise manipulation of katanas, where each movement flowed with practiced grace, every step calculated in a deadly ballet of strikes and parries. There, balance came as naturally as breathing, each variable within his control, leading inevitably to victory.

But perhaps, he mused, there was wisdom to be found in drawing parallels between these seemingly disparate skills. After all, wasn't adaptation the cornerstone of growth? With this thought sparking inspiration, Tōga began to reimagine the challenge before him. Instead of seeing ice skates as foreign implements of winter recreation, he visualized them as twin miniature katanas strapped beneath his feet. His legs would become extensions of his arms, channeling the same fluid control that made him formidable with a blade.

This unorthodox approach to mastery had served him well in the past. Whether learning new spells or perfecting combat techniques, viewing challenges through an unexpected lens often unveiled hidden paths to success. His mind painted the image clearly - each glide across the ice would mirror the smooth arc of a well-executed sword stroke, every turn echoing the precise footwork of blade combat.

"Okay, okay. I got this," Tōga declared, his voice carrying the same determination that had helped him face down dragons. He brushed away the crystalline evidence of his previous encounters with the ice, his dignity remarkably intact despite the growing collection of damp spots on his clothing. With methodical focus, he gripped the rink's barrier, using it as an anchor while he tested this new approach.

The initial moments seemed promising. His body responded to the mental reframing, finding a tentative harmony with the ice beneath him. Confidence building, Tōga made the fateful decision to release his safety net and venture into the open expanse of the rink.

Pride, as it often does, preceded the fall.

"Ouch!" The exclamation bounced off the crystalline walls as Tōga's brief moment of triumph transformed into an impromptu physics demonstration. His body, betraying any semblance of martial grace, skidded across the ice with an almost artistic fluidity - though not quite the kind he'd been aiming for. The irony wasn't lost on him; his falls were becoming more graceful than his attempts at actual skating. Looking up at Drakkon and Hai from his now-familiar position on the ice, Tōga's face split into an unabashed grin. Their advice about bending knees and maintaining proper posture sounded perfectly logical, yet somehow transformed into pure theory the moment blade met ice.

"That sounds a lot easier until you go BAM! And fall," he chuckled, his laughter carrying the genuine mirth of someone who found joy even in failure. Each attempt to regain his footing became its own adventure, his body swaying like a ship in stormy seas as he fought for equilibrium. As he stabilized himself once more, Tōga realized this wouldn't be a quick conquest like mastering a new sword technique. This would be a lengthy campaign of trial and error, of falls and recoveries, of laughter and determination. But that was perfectly fine with him - after all, the best adventures were often the ones that challenged you most.

Go D. Drakkon
Drakkon watched the two of them try their best to master the ice. It was not something they would be able to do right away. Well, they would be able to skate, but not skate like a port. They were trying their best, and it seemed like Hai had been holding on and trying to balance himself. His arm was inches away from the railing, so he could grab it the moment he found himself falling. He looked over to Toga and it seemed like he was a bit more confident than Hai when it came to skating. Still, what he saw in the end, was failure from him. He watched Toga eat the ice again, but this time it didn’t seem like it as much as it did prior.

“You two got this, keep trying.” He said to them as he was moving around the ice, watching them.

He had given his advice to them, and now it was their opportunity to use it as they saw fit. Hai twitched when he heard Toga fall as he didn’t want to hit the ground like him. he could feel that his legs were not twitching and trying to find their balance anymore. He didn’t move from where he was as he was waiting for his legs to start acting up again. After a minute of just standing still, Hai noticed that he was perfectly fine and that he could start moving right.

He remembered his father’s direction as he was getting ready to enact what his father had said to him. He hoped that it wouldn’t be that hard. He pushed away as he was moving forward. When he pushed in the direction of his leg, his body moved in that area as well. He was a bit excited, even though his face never showed the expression, but he was getting the hang of it. He only got a few feet away from the fall, when he messed up. He put his foot forward while doing this, and fell to the ice, on his stomach and shook his head.

He got the hang of skating, but he noticed the edges that were in the front of his blade.

“Father, what is this? What are jagged edges on the front of the blades?’ He asked.

“Those are skaters to slow and stop with them. Only people who can truly skate can use them without falling. A lot of people just stop pushing themselves on the ice and allow themselves to slow naturally on the ice. Others lean their blade against the ice sideways to stop themselves from moving. There are different ways. Right now just worry about not falling.” He said Hai.

The Dragon would get up from the ice and he would look at the people skating around them. He looked at Toga and it seemed like he was also doing his best to master this. He would take in a deep breath dusting pieces of ice off himself. He would get up again as he readied himself for another round.

He pushed forward as he got the idea from his father, he moved around as it was still hard to do. He was focusing and making sure he put everything into it so he didn’t fall. While moving he felt like he was getting the hang of it, but when he felt like things were about to go wrong, he made his way to the wall to use it as a support for now.

Drakkon moved around the arena as he chuckled a bit. Hai and Toga would get the hang of this soon.

Hai did his best and continued to enjoy himself as he failed repeatedly. Still, he would get the hang of things and he would be able to meet Drakkon on the ice. He wouldn’t be able to move like his father, but it was enough for him to move around without falling.

Toga
Tōga watched with a warm grin as Drakkon interacted with his dragon companion, Hai. There was something endearing about the way the typically stoic dragon slayer treated the young hatchling with such patience and care. Hai, still new to the world and full of unsteady energy, struggled to make sense of the icy surface beneath his claws. Tōga found himself both amused and empathetic—after all, ice skating wasn’t exactly a skill dragons were born with. And if he was honest, it wasn’t one Tōga had mastered either. Despite his own worldliness, Tōga was no expert on the ice. He had traveled far, fought countless battles, and acquired wisdom in the strangest places, but here, in this rink, he was just as much a beginner as Hai. Every slide and stumble felt like part of a shared struggle—a reminder that mastery wasn’t handed out freely but earned through effort and persistence. The rink wasn’t just a slippery challenge; it was a teacher, and falling was simply the first step toward learning how to glide.

Tōga chuckled to himself as he wobbled on the blades strapped to his boots. His balance faltered again, and down he went with a dull thud against the cold surface. For a moment, he just lay there, staring up at the ceiling, a grin spreading across his face despite the sting in his elbows. "Well, that makes the seventh time," he muttered with a laugh, brushing ice shavings off his pants. Falling didn’t bother him—he welcomed it. In his mind, every slip was a reminder of his motto: fall today, soar tomorrow. Life had taught him the value of perseverance, and it was a lesson he carried into everything he did. Getting up was just as important as falling down, and Tōga made sure to do both with a smile.

Pushing himself upright, Tōga skated a little farther, knees wobbling as he tried to mimic the graceful strides of the more seasoned skaters gliding effortlessly past. Every kick of his legs was clumsy, his movements exaggerated and awkward, but he didn’t care. He was having fun—and that was the whole point.

We’ll get it one day, Hai-san!” Tōga called out, his voice filled with encouragement as he steadied himself once more. “You’re already showing so much progress! Just a little more practice, and the ice won’t stand a chance.” Tōga’s grin widened as Hai gave a determined little growl, clearly intent on trying again. It was the same kind of spirit Tōga admired—persistence, no matter how slippery the path.

He skated—well, stumbled—alongside the others, losing his balance here and there but always pushing forward. Every fall was greeted with a laugh, every stumble with a lighthearted grin. “The trick is to make it look like you meant to fall,” he joked to Drakkon as he righted himself again, his arms flailing slightly to keep his balance. After a few more laps—if they could even be called that—Tōga’s stomach growled, the hunger catching up to him with every shaky stride. “So… what’s next, Drakkon-san?” he asked, flashing a lopsided grin as he shuffled toward the rink’s edge, his legs aching from the effort.

I could eat a mountain right about now.
