Home| Name: Better the Devil You Know Difficulty: Moderate Participants: Anika Adler, Liv Story: A spate of unexplained murders seeming to draw an odd pair together, Anika Adler is investigating a series of cases where the victims are young revellers, who had been drained of their mana and bodily energy and left for husks. The obvious perpetrator seeming to be a devil with those sorts of powers like a succubus, she has Liv brought in due to her profile and the fact that she has set up in an area close by, and the two engage in a cat and mouse game until ultimately it is revealed that the woman had a rather ironclad alibi for the occasion, and some influential friends who are not too thrilled at having the woman's affairs dug into. As such the would-be detective letting her go and left without a lead, Liv herself has taken an interest in it both for the insult of having someone operate so sloppily in her territory and because of the interest she has taken in Anika, and volunteers to help her investigate. The Rune Knight initially hesitant but convinced by the fact that an insight into the mind of a 'predator' might prove valuable, she begrudgingly takes her on as a consultant, and the two delve into the murk together in order to find the real perpetrator. What follows seeming to show that the world is far less black and white than one would believe, the two are forced to navigate pitfalls as they close in on the true party responsible for these heinous acts, and forge an unexpected and unusual bond between them which might just develop beyond the case itself… Rewards: A Rank Rewards Objectives:
